Judge Sanchez: Seizure of Fed Ed Campaign Funds Proper

Judge Juan Sanchez has denied Allentown Mayor Edwin "Fed Ed" Pawlowski's motion to have his federal campaign's bank accounts released from a seizure. "This Court has not ordered forfeiture of Fleck’s property and therefore will not consider Petitioner’s alleged interest in the property," he ruled. That's because the bank accounts were seized administratively, and only after notice had been provided.

As of July 15, Fed Ed had just $1,589.39 left in what at one time was a $427,000 war chest.

But he has a state campaign fund, too. At the beginning of the year, he had about $83,000 in his state PAC to pay lawyers. He spent $80,000 from that fund to pay lawyers in 2015.

In the first half of this year, he reports having lent his federal fund $21,608 to pay lawyers, both for himself and his wife.

His October quarterly is due tomorrow.

  1. Wonderful news. Now McMahon will probably be out as his attorney. With City Council reportedly primed tonight to resoundingly reject Pawlowski's attempt to get a taxpayer funded lawyer in Walker, and related council action relative to Pawlowski's failure to produce a five year budget in all his years as mayor, Pawlowski's days as mayor may be numbered.

  2. Bernie did the Feds also seize his state account? If not why is he not paying his lawyers from that account?

  3. Fed Ed should organize a bake sale or car wash to raise money for his legal defense. He probably could make enough dough to hire Jackie Childs.

  4. The wonderful mafia lawyer, Mr. McMahon, once again screwed a client. He not only missed the notice for seizure, he appealed it to the wrong judge. The bloated one, Fed Ed, deserves this type of scumbag lawyer. Both of them are bottom-feeders who have no regard for the law and think they are above it. Whatever goes around, comes around!

  5. Is fed Ed ever going to arrested Bernie? Or will he walk away from this free??

  7. They have not, to my knowledge, seized his state account, which had $83k in it at the beginning of the year. My guess is that he is looting it,and that accounts for the $21k he lent to his federal campaign. But that is a guess.
