NorCo Exec John Brown To Run For Auditor General

I've been informed by several highly placed Republicans that Northampton County Executive John Brown is running for Auditor General. This has not been confirmed by Brown, who pretty much ignores media inquiries. Whatever we may think of him, the bluebloods in control of the GOP in Harrisburg just love the guy. I will update this post at midnight.

  1. He might as well. he wouldn't win re-election as executive. Same thing as Bangor. Brownie couldn't get elected dog-catcher in that town.

  2. DePasquale is doing an outstanding job and Brown couldn't run a Taco Bell. Hope the Harrisburg bluebloods read all about the Gracedale arbitration asskicking that Brown received.

  5. Classic example of the "Peter Principle"....In business or Government, a person will rise or get promoted to their level of incompetence.

  6. He has no enthusiasm for his current job. It was merely a stepping stone to higher political aspirations. If he does run for Auditor General he will be crushed in the election. If someone as talented and experienced as Morganelli could not make it statewide in the Attorney General race (twice), why would some unknown from backwater Bangor have any chance? But I would encourage him to run just to get the hell out of the NC courthouse.

  7. A leader is only as good as those that surround him. JB walked into an out of control cesspool in which the largest surplus in county history was spent down to zero by Stoffa, then reduced to negative, by a budget that over spent its revenue by $1 million each month, for all of 2014.

As he tried to surround himself with the most competent people he could find, those folks are only as good as the people that surround them. ie...Human Resources Director left after 6 months. DD and DK also finding that their departments are filled with lawbreaking assholes who should not be hired as baggers at a grocery store. Getting rid of them is hard if not impossible to accomplish.

I give JB lots of credit for rising above the screeds of this biased shitblogger with a personal vendetta and doing the most with what he was left.

  8. Oh 12:48 BOO HOO!! Brown the Clown picked an incompetent to be his trusted advisor. The pick after cabinet pick blew up in his face. He alone is the cause for his unpopularity. Don't blame the previous administration.

  9. We all know who posted that comment. Hates Stoffa. hates me. Loves Brown. I am sure he is delighted to have her in his camp.

  10. The Harrisburg blue bloods do love him but can they really be blind to his disastrous performance thus far?

    1. He has the support of Spartacus, a bronze man-God who's power has only been enhanced by a lengthy term of political incarceration despite being abandoned by D's in Bethlehem who supposedly cared most.

Why is it Donald that you have put nothing on brother Jim Gregory's books but can afford lavish meals and cocktails at Tapas on main while the leader of Unity PAC 108 has to make do with sub par veganesque Johnny Marzetti?

  12. Brown is a dingbat who has already exceeded the level of his ability. Can't wait to see him get booted out in the next election, which feels like light years away.

  13. John Brown has done an admirable job. he has not caved to the vested interwe3sts that want to bankrupt the county. He has closed the information pipeline Stoffa gave O'Hare so he is on the crap list on this blog.

Brown took a deficit ridden county that had squandered a massive surplus on big contracts and unneeded new buildings and is bringing it back from the dead. He did not want the tax increase the TEA party Republicans pushed through.

His record is one of fiscal integrity and out of the box thinking government management.

He makes a good candidate and could beat any of the county council Democrat wannabes for the Executive race in 17.

  14. BROWN. The blind leading the lame. His battle cry of "corporate efficiency" from his phantom past has lead him into blunder after blunder including a $300,000.00 Bill to taxpayers caused by Scomillio who claim about experience has been exposed by his own ineptitude.

  19. If Brown promises to take Allen with him to Harrisburg..I will vote for him!

  22. After Scomillio loses he can be first in line to head Brown's new legal dept. His mission - find corporate efficiencies constitutional rights be damned.

I won't have time to follow up on this until after the election.

  24. John Brown continues to show he's inept. He's as bad as the bafoons in Bethlehem Township who can't manage. 38% proposed increase can only be handled by cutting essential services or kicking the can. Borrowing does not work to balance the budget.
