Updated: Kane's Office Hit With Search Warrant
Updated from story that originally published on 4/10 at 6:00 pm.
Since the time of my initial reports, several statewide papers pickec yp on thhis story. The best of these is in The Inky, which notes that warrants have been served on two of Kane's offices, in Harrisburg and Norristown. It appears that these warrants are being executed by agents working for Montgomery County DA Risa Vetri Ferman.
The state supreme court has ruled recently that a judge had "inherent authority" to authorize an investigation into a grand jury leak, which ultimately led to a recommendation to prosecute Kane. DA Ferman has vowed to undertake her own investigation. Ferman, a Republican, is running for judge.
Daily News columnist John Baer, who has been chief among those leading the Kane Mutiny, wonders whether the steady drip, drop circling the drain means she's bound to go down, too.
Innocent or not, the integrity of her office has been impugned so badly that I believe it is interfering with that Office's ability to do its job fairly. A recent acquittal in an AG prosecution in Northampton County has several court observers scratching their heads. Defense attorney Tyree Blair did a great job in his first jury trial. But how many jurors have read stories about the AG's office?

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
Kane is like a pair of muddy boots that have been on all day. Wherever they go in the house they track mud everywhere. The only way to stop the mess from happening is to remove the boots from the house.

Can`t be good.
ReplyDeleteNaked pictures of Jim Gregory??
ReplyDeleteShe's slimy. Yet, Wolf and Morganelli think she's still OK being the chief law enforcer for the state. She makes Ernie Preate look like an Eagle Scout. You've had the courage to call for her resignation. What's wrong with these Ds?
ReplyDeleteKane is getting treated like Tom "Scizzorhands Severnsen" Let's see if he makes a comeback to the political arena. They both had the same prosecutor!
ReplyDelete6:13, Morganelli stands to gain from her resignation, but has support her right to to due process. I believe he is doing that because he believes in it. It is in his political interest to have a different view, so I believe John's support has nothing to do with politics. With Wolf, yes. She really does need to stop down. I wrote the about the above story before knowing that had just been cited for contempt.
ReplyDeleteI don't see how she can do her job, let alone run for re-election. I believe it would be in the best interests of her but more importantly the people of Pennsylvania, if she would resign. I think it is a headache that Gov Wolf does not need as he engages in the budget battle. She was elected with such hope, but has fallen so far quickly. I really hoped she would shine a light on Corbett's missteps in the Penn State dysfunction, but all we've received is her own saga of ineptitude.
ReplyDeleteSo far everything is hearsay and innuendo. Not one solid piece of real evidence. I guess being a woman is crime just like on this blog.
ReplyDelete@3:08 Go somewhere else if you don't like this blog. All you do is seek to criticize it, regardless of if a man or a woman is being questioned. There is no war on women here. Pull your head out - it's a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteFWIW - I voted for Kane and I think she should step down. It has nothing to do with her being a woman. Yes, she has due process, and there is a lot to be said for that. But she is a distraction we don't need, and controversy has plagued her - much by her own doing as opposed to a witch hunt.
Please take your crazy comments elsewhere. There is no evidence of a conspiracy here. You just don't like being battered by the truth.
@3:20 - 3:08 needs some cheese to go with her whine.
ReplyDeletePlus she fired another top person in her office but this was not selective enforcement.. Is this how her mentor Hillary will act??
ReplyDeleteConstant attacks on this embattled young woman. You guys love it. Yet we get anonymous tips, accusations and more and more innuendo.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the beef? Other than a witch hunt being pursued against this Democratic woman, so far it is all smoke.
It is shameful what the "men" on this blog do to successful women. You boys need a new hobby or a bigger penis.
If she hadn't race-baited and shut down legitimate investigations that initially snared Rs and Ds, but later seemed to only catch dumb Ds who hadn't gotten the message after three years, there would be nothing to discuss. She raised the ire of Rs and Ds, including an African American DA in Philadelphia. She stepped in to protect crooked politicians who happened to be of her own party. That's standard operating procedure in Lackawanna and Luzerne. But it doesn't often fly statewide. To be called out by a Democratic DA from Philly tells you all you need to know about the mess she created for herself. It's time for her to go. But the Morganelli's and Wolfs of the party will have to put their own politics aside, instead of looking the other way at a dirty colleague who's destroyed the credibility of the office she holds. They're assisting her in doing this. Maybe on purpose? Not good for citizens of the Commonwealth.

ReplyDeleteWhat exactly is your fascination with penises? Grow up. You need to get a bigger brain and a new hobby, dumbass. I voted for this woman, without regard for her gender. She needs to step down. Your attempt to cast this blog as a bastion of hate against women hasn't worked, and won't work, because there is no evidence to support your claim. Bernie targets anyone and anything he believes the public should know about.
I find it interesting that very few are calling for Ms.Kane to resign.Does it make Me a bad person if I want Her to stay and cause more mischief ?
ReplyDeleteBernie, I have found you have always been able to scoop the local media on local issues and I am impressed. How were you able to scoop the media across the State on this story? You published the original story at 6pm on Friday and it didn't appear anywhere else until after 10pm on Friday! Nice work!!
ReplyDeleteYou can thank one of my readers, who tipped me.
ReplyDelete"I voted for this woman, without regard for her gender."
ReplyDeleteSure you did.
"Bernie targets anyone and anything he believes the public should know about."
ReplyDeleteYeah, right. If you believe that you need a basic brain. This blog ignores many stories regarding his heroes and goes after his enemies. he makes Joe McCarthy look like Santa Claus.
I think I should stop voting. I voted for Kathleen Kane and for Northampton County Executive John Brown.
