Hizzoner Bob Donchez |
Since its founding in 1741, the City of Bethlehem has been a leader in industry, patriotism, and has held a deep-rooted spirit of community that remains very much alive today. From the time of the founding Moravians until now, Bethlehem’s hallmarks include our dedication to education, our proud celebration of the arts, and our vibrant religious and cultural life. It is only fitting that as our great city progresses into the future, we take time to look back and honor our storied past, to celebrate the Pride and Progress in Bethlehem, PA.

Funding will be utilized to build upon the spirit of our community and get all citizens involved in their rich heritage. Funding will specifically be put toward a community gala, a community legacy project, updating our history through a book project, as well as building a hall of fame honoring living individuals with City ties that have risen to national and international fame.
275th Anniversary Committee |
Lastly, I would like to call upon all of our residents to contribute to this milestone event; either with monetary contributions or with contributions of their time and talents to make this celebration a success.
Presently, the 275th steering committee, under the direction of Lynn Collins Cunningham, is working on all of the logistics and is building community support through all of the City’s organizations. The steering committee is comprised of:
Hank Barnette
Iris Cintron
Pastor Hopeton Clennon
Don Cunningham
Lynn Cunningham
Nuria DiLuzio
Bob Donchez
Charlene Donchez Mowers
Patrick Fligge
Laurie Gostley Hackett
Kassie Hilgert
Justin Porembo
Mary Pat Posko
Melissa Rudas
Bernard Story
Following Mayor Dinchez' remarks, Attorney Nuria DiLuzio discussed the upcoming Community Gala; Charlene Donchez Mowers addressed the book project; and Lynn Cunningham spoje about a Bethlehem hall of fame and legacy project.

I wonder if Callahan was asked. He would be good.
How did the Morganelli PR firm get the job? Was it bid out?
Get what job?
Oh I see. You are referring to the web page. Morganelli's firm is a web design firm, not a PR firm. If you read the Mayor's statement, it appears this effort is being privately funded. If that is so, the public bidding requirements are inapplicable.
Haters everywhere at 1:09 in the morning. Crawl under your rock in West Easton and leave us Bethlehem people alone
Shame on the worthless council for not funding at least part of this
Hank Barnette, really? Wasn't he at the helm of Bethlehem Steel when the ship sank? The loss of Steel was an economic disaster for thousands of families. Now he gets to live the life of a respected elder community statesman? Pssh. I don't know why anything surprises me in this city anymore... It's all about the haves and the have-nots. Just drive down Main Street. Once you get past the glitz and glamour of Church-Broad it's pothole city (you know, because it's a road for locals from Broad north). And 1:09... Good question. 7:03 speak for yourself. You don't speak for Bethlehem any more than anyone else does.
9:45,got to kiss that old butt for contributions
1:28,
democratic inbreeding
The list is definitely a who's who of who's connected.

You would be the first to bitch if council had given money to this. This shouldn't come out of the taxpayers money. Having fundraisers is the best thing to do. Those that want to give can and those who choose not too don't have too.
Who is this Ghostly-Hackett woman and why has she hovered around for the past twenty year? She was once the pick of the Bethlehem patricians for office but the people said no thinks. Now she seems to pop up as the "unofficial" representative or leader of just about everything Bethlehem related.
If you want to understand Bethlehem, figure this one out and you will know how the Plantation of Bethlehem is run. Just look at the names and connect the dots.
The Northampton Generating Company (NGC) is proposing to increase dangerous lead emissions 20 times over. We have until May 4 to submit comments requesting a public hearing to deny NGC's attempt to increase dangerous lead pollution in the Lehigh Valley. Click here to tell Pennsylvania&# 39;s Department of Environment Protection: No more lead in Northampton! |
| | NGC has been consistently cited for air pollution violations, blaming "higher variability with fuel blends from Tire Derived Fuel". Now NGC wants to pollute more. Exposure to lead pollution during pregnancy is significantly related to neurological damage, like autism. No community in Pennsylvania would accept such harmful lead emissions. NGC has been out of compliance with the Clean Air Act for almost all of the last three years. A looser lead emission standard will allow more tires and trash to be comingled with the plant's main fuel, coal refuse or culm. Please send this important message to stop NGC from increasing lead pollution.
