The Irony of NIZ Assessment Appeal and School Cuts
But what's ironic is the story that follows, in which parents and teachers join hands to ask Allentown School District to restore cut programs.
If Reilly would pay his fair share of the real estate taxes for his building, then perhaps these programs could be restored in the ASD budget.

JP is wrong on so many levels. He should be made to pay his fair should, as he is reaping the benefits many times over. The city residents pay for the extra police time to assist him in making money. The jobs the PPL center created are minimum wage. The traffic to the center sucks for city residents. He got tax breaks to build the dam thing. This is typical of the 1%.
ReplyDeleteAren't many of the Arena jobs part-time which means no benefits?
ReplyDeleteJB is on his way to billionaire.
Why wouldn't he want the best for
Allentown's youth?
Rather than fighting city taxes that have enriched his life beyond measure, why doesn't JB cover all the fees for art and music in Allentown. Wouldn't that gesture be tax deductible and noble?
ReplyDeleteBernie - I heard JB is trying to move the Moravian Bookstore from Bethlehem to Allentown.
ReplyDeleteI know he is trying to remove one prominent Main St business, and has lied about it.
ReplyDeleteI heard it is all but a done deal.

...and is this not part of what is inherently wrong about what Allentown's NIZ is doing? I'd be all for this if it was drawing new businesses to Allentown fro outside the state of Pennsylvania. Stealing from other LV cities is wrong.
