ET Names NorCo Exec, Naz Police Chief and Easton City Council As Turkeys of the Year

The Express Times has named its turkeys of the year (I don't think this was done last year), and the short list includes John Brown (for his boneheaded first year as NorCo Exec), Cupcake Trachta (for Stickergate) and Easton City Council (commuter tax). I would have included Mayor Sal Panto since he is responsible for the commuter tax first imposed in 2012, as well as the increase, and claimed that people who live in the "lily white" suburbs have to pay for the experience.

"There needs to be some sort of revenue sharing in those lily-white suburbs,” Panto said.

I would have included K. Deirdre Dolan, as she now calls herself, among those turkeys.

  1. Although it's only January 2 2015 John Clown has a firm grasp on Turkey of the Decade!

  2. Trachta would be the easy favorite if brown wasn't listed! The fun is just starting! FT Strong! #badcopNODoughnut

  3. My vote is for Gobbler Brown and his Blundering Herd of administrators.

  4. See the sticker goons are here. Time to forge the checks and sit at the 7-11.

  5. Be careful Bernie! Bill White might want to induct Brown into his infamous Hall of Fame or Shame.

To you would you want to share the dishonor or honor of being on the same list as Mr. Brown as long as Bill White is still working at the Morning Call.

  6. Just voted for John Brownpants and he's winning (losing?) with over 32% of the vote. Thats impressive! 1 year ago he was the boy-wonder, now he's the boy-blunder

  7. Wow, but I'm, sad to see Chief Cupcake is only at 5%. I hope he doesn't start crying.

  8. Gobbler John is running away withe turkey trot! He deserves a Thanksgiving ending to his lame administration. Stuffed and carved up by his loathing public.

  9. Brown wins. The only people that hate Trachta are check forgers and losers. The rest of the world doesn't care about your pitiful games.

  10. Molovinsky should be on this list....What did he get, 5 votes?

  11. Three strong candidates that are all deserving of the award. But John Brown should and will win. Has to be the worst Executive in the history of PA.

  12. Blog Mentor, While you can't sign your name, Molovinsky is the ONLY person in the entire state who was willing to challenge an incumbent as an independent. With no party support, no real campaign and no JB Reilly handing him money, he captured 11% of the vote while you sat on the sidelines. You would belong on that list except that you are so marginalized that nobody even knows you.

  13. @8:13 am "worst executive in the history of PA"

    That is an exaggeration!

Yes, he is the worst mayor in Bangor history.

And Yes, he is the worst executive in Northampton county history.

And Yes, he is only in his first year. So he has 3 more years to screw stuff up. He at that point could possibly be the worst.

But give Brownie a break, he's not the worst in PA history. yet.

  14. I would agree that Brownpants is the worst executive in the history of the LV, but he needs more seasoning to take the state title. There seems to be no doubt that this goal is his resolution for the new year. He wants to make it to the anals of county government ineptitude!

  15. Brown is keeping his word not to raise taxes. Unlike the republicans on county council. A ten percent tax increase their first year. The big tea party guy wanted twenty percent.

    Bullshit.

  16. The only "word" brown is keeping is to his wife. He finally got a job.

  17. LOL Yea one he cant be fired from for 3 more years

  18. Yeah, it is like the voters are stuck with an A-Rod contract. Can't fire or trade him, just got to pay him. No matter how badly he performs.

  20. In reality they are to REPORT the news, not pass judgment. This newspaper outfit lost their building and staff members, has not compensated for real time news ,it's a day or so late .Years ago they didn't pay attention to John Curly -so he opened USA Today ,lived on college hill and everything. EXPRESS TIMES are the TURKEY's in the long run .

  21. Hey Peter you must be disappointed in your Republicans. Even your tea party buddy Phillips the big would be taxer.

    They are all a mess.

  22. ET is not passing judgment, its readers are. They want honest investigative reports and editorial opinion. And they are voting in large numbers for Brownie as turkey of the year.

  23. Lehigh Valley taxpayers can see an incompetent stuffed suit when they look at Brown. It isn't hard to recognize that we made a colossal error in voting him in. He's earned his wide margin of victory in winning the Turkey of the Year award.

  24. Too bad ET did not have a Weasel of the Week award. Brownie would have won that award 52 times last year.

  25. For almost one hundred years,
The Express-Times was the paper to read! It's building housing hundreds of employees. Now a paper without a home--renters on a floor in someone else's building. Maybe time for reflection.

  26. What the F--- is the problem with the EXpress Times? They wanted these R's and they they even 3ndorsed these idiots to run our County.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The ET recomended three Rs (Ferraro, Geissinger & Phillips) and two Ds (Heckman and Hunter) in the Council races. Why they passed over Jerry is beyond me. The Express Times endorsed Callahan over Brown. So I don't know what you're smoking, or you are deliberately lying. In either case, you're wrong.

  28. The ET is recognizing jackasses when they see them, regardless of party. It isn't complicated.

  30. Is some one hating on Seyfried and Heckman. is this a veiled shot at either of them. I voted straight Republican but had thought about voting for Heckman and Setyfried. Wish I had.
