Incumbents Expected to Prevail in LV State House Races
PoliticsPA has listed the top 15 state house races to watch on Election night. None of the LV races are listed. Whether you like it or not, incumbents have an immense advantage in these contests, no matter which party is involved. It's reached the point where no one dares challenge them. This just makes them comfortable and less responsive.

Most don't even have oppponenets. It is shameful and an indictment of our gerrymandered system.
Gerrymandering allows the politicians to pick their voters so they don't really have to listen to us. Just one of the factors that is making our form of government less representative of the citizens.
There are 105 unopposed seats out of 203 for state house this year. Democracy is dead in many areas. The only competitive race in my precinct is governor. This highlights the need for term limits.
I'd agree it is time for term limits. I used to think term limits should be at the ballot box, but these guys have ruined the ability of the people to be a check and balance.
Bernie O'Hare, Have you seen this article? You've been ignoring a heck of a race in the 40th Senate District. http://www.poconorecord.com/article/20141102/NEWS/141109881
I am not ignoring it. I have written several posts about the race. I do not think sign stealing is a joke. Political operatives get a little nutty doing this sort of thing. It's dishonest. I am not, however, accusing this woman. Nor should Scavello, without more evidence than that.
This is why a majority of Pennsylvanians dislike Harrisburg. Sick of it all.
105 running for office have no opponents running against them = Gerrymandering = broken system!
