Beyer State House Race Crashes ... Literally

Michael Beyer's campaign to unseat State Rep. Justin Simmons has crashed. At the time I write this, WFMZ had him down 61-39. But his campaign also crashed literally.

Leaving a polling place at Coopersburg's Calvary Church, Beyer pulled out in front of two cars. He ended up getting T-boned and snarling traffic. This probably reduced the turnout and may be the smartest thing he did in this race.

Fortunately, no one was injured except Mike's ego.

So ends a race that was dishonest from start to finish. Beyer was thrown off the ballot after misrepresenting that he was a lawyer. And yesterday, he had Joyce Moore, a liberal Democrat, hand out "Republicans for Beyer".

  3. But Bernie
Didn't you a few weeks back
    say, "It's Beyer's to win?"

  4. It looks like it was at night when this accident took place which indicates Beyer should have been even more cautious while driving. Was he charged with reckless driving?

  6. The HDCC loves this guy. They loved Kevin Deely in 2012 against Simmons. The HDCC (House Democratic Campaign Comitatis) does nothing to help most candidates, but throws money at potheads and Republican-turncoat-bad driving-liars who inflate credentials! Geeez!! If there is a question WHY the Rpos have control of the House of Reps, look no further than the HDCC.

  7. The Simmons people should be the last to comment on car accidents, don't you think? At least Beyer didn't kill anyone.

  8. Poor guy, he had a *really* bad day yesterday. Smashes up his car and gets a beat down of epic proportions in the polls.

I heard that he is grounded now too! Apparently he was playing too much Need for Speed on the xbox

  9. I'm happy that this is finally over. Hopefully Karen Beyer can move on and her son can get a job. Using this election to settle a personal battle was wrong and the people made their voice heard. It was sad that the Democrats chose Beyer to run over their own party members. People like Joyce Moore, Bar Johnston, and Jenny Vogt should be embarrassed for what they did to the Democratic Party. Democrats need to take their party back from these far left liberals.

  10. Maybe he can work as a lawyer at his family's law firm now! Oh... Wait...

  12. Glad to hear nobody was hurt. I’d like to share some of my Election Day experience with you.

I was working the polls for Simmons yesterday and stood next to a Beyer supporter for part of the day. It was an education.

First, the person refused to even shake my hand and introduce themselves when they arrived. The person also couldn’t even bring themselves to engage in small talk on a beautiful Election Day when things got slow.

The person tried to shout over me while I was talking to voters and smear Simmons’ character (not based on their own experiences, but on something they apparently had been told). When voters indicated they were voting for Beyer or Wolf, the person would say “we have to get those Tea Party guys out” (apparently tolerance for other viewpoints really isn’t a trait that all Democrats value). But when other voters would appear to be moderate Republican, the Beyer poll worker would then turn around and say how important it is to not be partisan! They said whatever they thought would work, and honesty really didn’t factor into the exchange.

I don’t think the person represented their candidate well, and I don’t know if that was the norm for the Beyer camp. All I could think of is how some people get too wrapped up in politics and forget we’re all people first.

I like to think that I can talk to anyone. We won’t necessarily agree on everything, but maybe we can find some common ground – even if it’s only an appreciation of a sunny, Fall day.

    Again, it was an education.

I supported Simmons all along, as I never thought much of Beyer. I did think he could win that district bc it is not as heavily slanted in favor if the incumbent as some others, but he waited too long to hire Fleck and his supporters ended up hurting him.

  16. Ding Dong the Bitch is Dead was sung after the 2010 race.... clearly she was reincarnated! Her therapist clearly is not doing a good job with her. Let's face it... Mike Beyer was not a valid candidate. This is all the fault of whomever selected him in the first place. They just threw out a warm body, created lies, carried on like wildcats, and hoped and prayed he'd get elected. That's not in the best interest of the people. Jenny Vogt, Gloria McVeigh, Bar Johnston and Lori McFarland all need to step back and change how they are or get out of the party altogether! They are all nuts. But, I will give slight credit to Bar Johnston for not working with Mikey toward the end because she found him to be lazy! Do ya think? You couldn't figure that one out earlier..... 30 yo living at home with mommy and daddy playing video games in the basement and hasn't taken the bar and prob. never will.... there you go.... YOUR RED FLAG!

  17. Well the hayseed hicks of the 131st district have spoken and Jenny Vogt is really upset. How dare us uneducated peasants vote for Justin Simmons!

Jenny has to wake up everyday with Justin Simmons as her State Rep and he's not going anywhere. In fact, he's only rising. Hahahahahah

  18. Jenny proves to be a poor adviser to her candidate who proves more and more what a CHILD he is by NOT CONCEDING! SHAMEFUL!

  19. Joyce Moore and a small group of party hacko's are turning off more than I few thoughtful Democrats.

  20. McFarland-McVeigh-Moore and company turn this lifetime D off to no freakin end.
Mindless party partisans of the creepiest order, sure to make thinking Democrats stay far away from involvement.
This sorry campaign is a case in point.

  21. This election completely exposed the Beyers for their lack of character, class, and integrity.Their is nothing genuine about them . There is not one statement they made that wasn't distorted or somehow turned into a lie. A public servant cannot build a platform on a foundation of lies
like the Beyers have.Karen Beyer never learned her lesson from her beating in 2010. Unfortunately for Mike Beyer he now has been labeled as a Liar and a bad candidate. They are both finished in politics in the Lehigh Valley.
Congratulations to Justin Simmons for running an honest and effective campaign!

Your right Beyer is lucky he didn't kill someone. He left the church parking lot spinning the tires on his brand new mustang and accelerating toward a stop sign. He was unable to stop and went through the stop sign and was hit by 2 cars.

    Hope he has a lawyer....

  25. I was getting out of my car and that is not even close to how the accident happened. No need to lie.

  26. One GOOD thing about Beyer's accident...three people aren't dead.

You were getting out of your car and you saw the accident? Where were you parked the cemetery? Nice try.

How does a never employed 30 year old afford a brand new mustang? If it was a gift during an election campaign hope he reports it on his ethics report.

  31. That Mustang is not brand new. It's at least four years old, maybe older. I can tell that from the picture.

He would always brag about it after received it. It must be nice to grow up with a silver spoon.

  38. The HDCC themselves aren't the ones who love the people who run against Simmons... it's Bar Johnnston's personal vendetta against Simmons. It's a sick obsession that is bringing the party in BOTH Lehigh and Northampton County down.

Aruand going rogue from the Wolf campaign (possibly because of Bar's antics) and a lack of a Wolf outreach in Northampton showed in the final numbers in all of the down ballot races.

Once again, the Dems went on eating their own to feed personal grudges. Money, volunteers and other resources keep going to that district, and it shows. I could be wrong. I want to be wrong. But I don't see the evidence that shows otherwise.

  44. This incident is just hilarious.

I felt Beyer had no chance all along, even aside from the "I said I'm a lawyer but I'm not" issue.

Simmons isn't the best thing since sliced bread, but I can't really find any fault with him either.

  45. Michael Beyer is now a communist youtuber/twitch streamer under the name "Mike from PA". Funny how things can change in 10 years.
