Seven of NorCo's 11 Unions have No Contract
One union contract expired in 2010, and no new contract is in force. Another six labor contracts expired at the end of last year. So at this time, there are eight bargaining units in need of a new contract.
Another two labor contracts are set to expire at the end of this year. The final will end at the end of 2015.
"That will be critical to what we look at from a budgeting perspective overall," said Brown.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.

ReplyDeletePublic unions have ruined the economy and killed any respect that remained for government. FDR warned of this. PA is number one in teacher strikes and number 41 in SAT scores. VA hospitals are 80% union and are killing vets by ignoring them and falsifying records in facilities that see one patient for every eight seen in private practice. Gracedale is still open because of public unions and its patients are sentenced to an abominably low rated facility that bleeds increasing millions of dollars, with no end to mounting losses in sight.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, private trades unions in PA have endorsed Corbett and are fighting Democratic candidates who uniformly support a job killing drilling tax, revenue from which they've promised to the PSEA to reward them for delivering some of the worst public schools in the country.
Public unions aren't your dad's unions. They're a dangerous cancer that's killing us.
Now, all the unionized goldbricks on government payroll can respond on taxpayer time ....... funny how this blog is busiest during their work hours ....
Brown is starting to realize what he got himself into. Gracedale is on pace to lose over $9 million this year.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't unions who fkd over the vets. It was management pukes like you, who always protect their own ass.
ReplyDeleteUnions got you higher wages and benefits so that you cam buy the laptop you are using to spew your hate for them.
Be a clown and destroy unions You'll be back to the 1800's labor practices in a decade.
6:19 AM Couldn't have said it better! Right on the money!!!
ReplyDeleteNice post!
So what the hell are they waiting for? 2014?
ReplyDelete6:19 sounds like he just joined the college Republicans. Here kid, here's a buck, go get yourself a sarsaparilla. Educate yourself beyond what Fox News feeds you. The rest of the media is not biased, Fox just has an agenda and it doesn't favor putzes like you so why do you willingly lap it up?
ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone..besides the rich..be a part of the Republican party and buy into the Fox insanity? Because the country is full of closet bigots and racists and selfish, greedy yuppies and wannabe rich people who don't have a prayer of ever being so. Power to the masses! Let the voters decide..not the money!
ReplyDeleteI love private trades unions and am proud to live where they exist. I despise public employee unions who already have lifetime civil service protection and are as bad for the country as the great FDR warned they would be. There's a huge difference between private and public sector unions.
ReplyDeleteDear "Fox News is the Anti-Christ" asshole:
ReplyDeleteYour act is tired.
Fox News doesn't cover Norco public unions, LV municipal unions, nor the PSEA, which are what their critics here are discussing. They are not following a script, like your loser talking points ass does on every thread.
They have experienced the damage inflicted by the selfish and lazy, in terms of the drag on their personal finances, the ecomonmy in which they try to participate and make ends meet, and in the piss poor results delivered by the feeders (organized or otherwise).
So, give us one more "Fox News" and then, get up those basement stairs, mommy's got your lunch ready.

All this hate yet not one good comment about the reality of John Browns inaction. The best and most knowledgably post so far is from anon 3:43. He really needs an actual experienced person to run the damn thing. It is obvious he and his consultants haven't a clue.
ReplyDeleteStoffa and his consultant Rasputin drained the county cash.
Hmmm...unions continue to lose ground and be demonized while wages remain stagnant for 20 years...any correlation?
ReplyDelete5:23. You win. You GET IT!
ReplyDeleteAnon 5:223, Regan is loved by conservative3s because he figured out the magic. He had regular working stiffs handing over the money to the uber wealthy and losing their own money. He got them to participate in getting screwed and thank the screwers at the same time.
ReplyDeleteThe dumbing down of America is almost complete. Did you know the polar ice is melting due to polar bear farts. without unions perpetual serfdom is just around the corner.
anon 6:19- Check out what the gracedale afscme union gave up to save gracedale... they gave up apox 2,000 each.. not that they are the highest paid employees of the county!!!
ReplyDeleteanon 11:10 not all public employees are protected by the civil service protection that just shows you how much YOU know!! get your facts straight...
the residents at gracedale are suffering, because of the administration! they cut the staff to below state min. hopefully someone from the state will notice this!!!! its not always the union employees to blame, there is WAY too much administration at gracedale... too many rn's doing tech work!! check it out!!!!
