NorCo Council: Wallace Concedes to O'Donnell

Bill Wallace
On Tuesday, I told you that Tom O'Donnell squeaked by Bill Wallace in the race for fifth place for five Democratic nominations to at-large seats on Northampton County Council. The official tally has O'Donnell ahead by 21 votes.

Rather than seek a re-count, Wallace has conceded. "I will be redoubling my efforts with the Northampton County Democrats and helping to elect the entire slate – John Callahan for County Executive, Deb Hunter, Ron Heckman, Jerry Seyfried, Christen Borso and Tom O’Donnell for County Council. I also look forward to winning a full term on the Wilson Area School Board."

Wallace, a partisan Democrat, won the Republican nomination to Wilson School Board. He'll be opposed by John Cusick, a partisan Republican, who won the Democratic nomination.

Only in Northampton County.

Let me add here that O'Donnell is a terrible choice. He is misinformed, sees bogeymen everywhere and gave a rambling speech at the last Council meeting that nobody understood. A former Chairman of the Lower Nazareth Supervisors, he likes to tell everyone he's a certified fraud examiner. But he never mentions he was fired as a state auditor in 1988 for conducting Township business on the state's dime. He appealed that ruling, and it's unclear to me how that matter ended. O'Donnell was an unsuccessful County Council candidate in 2001.

Nobody interested in good government can in good conscience vote for that guy.

  1. But is the Party united? Apparently not.

  2. I won't vote for someone just bc he is a Democrat. I will vote for someone if that person is transparent, accountable, informed and willing to work. O'Donnell is none of those things. He will not get my vote.

  3. Apparently you are not alone,. A prominent Democrat is heading up an anti-Callahan campaign. I guess a few council candidates will be thrown in for good measure.

  4. I know no prominent Democrats. Isn't that something of an oxymoron? Democrats, by definition, should not be. I know I do my part.

I can think of only one cRaZy working against Callahan, and he swears he is no longer a Democrat. I think he will command an army of one.

  5. He will really be cRaZy if he starts to use phrases like "We the People." He already refers to himself in the 3rd person. lol you cowards.8

  6. OMG!! You people will not believe the backlash against Callahan and any Democrat that endorses him.

Wait to see who is right. lol

  7. I think we have a cuckoo bird who wants more attention than he is already getting. I almost feel sorry for the guy.

  8. I can guarantee that Wallygee and his pack of clueless lapdogs, including William Wallace, will have no positive impact on the county council or executive races. What makes them think candidates are interested in help and advice from a bunch of idiots who couldn't get themselves elected to anything to save their lives?

  9. Anon 2:15, you have no power to create a backlash. Everyone but you seems to know that. If you did, you could have tanked Callahan's nomination. You didn't, because you couldn't. You and a couple of your friends just have big mouths. You are delusional.

  10. Callahan is a terrible choice for County Executive. He will raise taxes and create more problems than anyone in the past. I am a democrat that will NOT be voting for him and encourage any Dems out there to do the same unless they would be happy to see their taxes rise as they will surely do if he's in office. The possible alternative is to elect some of the R's that are running for council as an alternative that counter any such moves. I think there should be a web site created thats a " Democrats for Brown " site and a major push for support to counter any of John "Spend" Calanhan's ideas.

  11. You have got to be kidding if you think that you are going to give advice to Heckman and Seyfried. Together, those to guys have more experience than the entire ticket (both R's and D's). No one Democrat will derail this freight train rolling onto Victory. Gregory will not do it, nor will candidate Brown. O'donnel will hurt and may lose, but the overall ticket is strong.

  12. Wallace is a good man and should have been able to defeat O'Donnell. O'Donnell will not win in the General Eelction. He has to much baggage.

Gregory is just nutz at this point.

  14. I thought Gregory would be too busy with his run for Mayor to worry about Callahan. Apparently, he can multi-task.

  15. Gregory is getting appointed to Donchez empty city council seat next year. You guys don't know anything. lol

  17. Anon 10:10...Bill Wallace is NOT a good man. He is completely devoid of integrity. You don't know Bill Wallace, Anon 10:10.

  18. Holly Batshot!! I just read on the Morning Call website that Jim Gregory is running for Mayor of Bethlehem. If he loses that he "WILL" be appointed to the vacant county city council seat.

You can't make this shit up!

  19. "Thursday, former Bethlehem City Council President Jim Gregory announced his plan to run for the position as an independent.

Gregory said he'll have to retire from his current job before he can officially enter the race"

  20. Bernie,
    Check mate lol.

    1. Gregory was not suspended for 3 days as their has been no communication to me or the union.
    2. If and when a 3 day suspension is given, the person from the county who leaked a confidential personnel issue is crushed.
    3. The county will be liable for huge settlement.

    Please tell Stoffa Thank You.

Need to pay off gambling debt or the third lien on your wife's home? You will not recover anything from Northampton county, in fact you probably won't even qualify for a pension so take another loan on the house and go hit on some drink girls at the Sands.

And your run for Mayor is complete crap, you are registered democrat you can not switch after the primary and run. But you already know this because you have a Mensa IQ and have it all figured out.
