The 40 Democratic Officials Who Endorse Callahan
FROM THE CALLAHAN CAMP – Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan has been endorsed for County Executive by over 40 Democratic officials, past and present throughout Northampton County – and beyond in the case of Congressman Matt Cartwright and Former Governor Ed Rendell. From treasurers, to school board members, to four mayors, Callahan has received an impressive level of support.
“We are running a grassroots campaign and I couldn’t be prouder to be endorsed by over 40 fellow public officials from every corner of Northampton County,” said Callahan. “Having worked closely with many of the people who have endorsed me, I am honored to receive such enthusiastic support.”
Callahan continued, “When this campaign started, I made it a point to collect petition signatures from all 38 municipalities in Northampton County, and I believe these endorsements reflect my commitment to the entire County.”
“My friend, John Callahan, has done a tremendous job as Mayor of Bethlehem,” said Easton Mayor Sal Panto. “Because of his record on job creation and fiscal responsibility, the entire region has benefited greatly from his leadership, and I look forward to working with John as our next County Executive.”
“John Callahan is committed to keeping our neighborhoods safe for families, making schools strong for our children, and protecting seniors by keeping Gracedale County-owned,” said Palmer Township Supervisor, Anne Marie Panella. “That is the kind of leadership we can expect from John’s administration.”
“When I’m elected County Executive, I will work with officials like Sal Panto and Anne Marie Panella to make sure we keep moving Northampton County forward,” Callahan concluded.
This announcement comes on the heels of Callahan posting a significant fundraising advantage over his opponents, having raised over $400,000 since he first decided to run for County Executive, including over $210,000 raised from 342 individual donors just this year alone. On May 3, Callahan was also endorsed by The Express-Times.

Yawn!!
ReplyDeleteWhere is Donchez, Reynolds, and Jerry Gross on this list? Those guys should be ashamed of themselves for not being on this list, especially if they backed any of the other candidates.
ReplyDeletedonchez is forming a committee to form a committee to make his mind up for him. he'll announce after the winner is declared
ReplyDeleteI understand fleck has been calling some of the folks on this list, and threatening them if they don't withdraw the endorsement.
ReplyDeleteSaw all of the above out working hard for Callahan..lol... Oops, must have missed that!! When all of Reibman's folks , and McClure folks and the COAF and the Labor Unions (oh yea, I forgot Charlie Dent) back Brown in the General, these rats will scurry back to their respective holes in the ground, lol
ReplyDeleteBye rats!
ReplyDelete6:46 appears to have conceded the primary to Callahan.
ReplyDeleteby 646, you mean JG?
ReplyDeleteThere ain't no sane people who are gonna back the Brown/Mezzacappa ticket!
ReplyDelete6:46AM - McClure and Reibman don't have folks. Reibman's list of "endorsements" is b.s. and McClure's union support will QUICKLY fall in line behind Callahan. John Brown's campaign will prove to be an even bigger joke than McClure's and Reibman's combined. Also hear that Fleck is threatening people. He's an embarrassment.
ReplyDeleteIf each of these 41 would contribute just $1,000 each, they could help John make the city whole for the destroyed police cruiser that he covered up. Let's all pull together for Bethlehem taxpayers! C'mon!
ReplyDeleteWhy is a judicial candidate endorsing a politician?
ReplyDeleteGood catch. That is improper. The commenter is referring to Tony Bassil, who is running for District Judge. Even as a candidate, he is not permitted to participate in any other political activity, except for gatherings of his party. His endorsement is improper.
ReplyDeleteSay what you want this is an impressive list. Clearly Callahan has done some serious ground work through out the county. He is out doing door to door outside Bethlehem every weekend. More than i can say for the other to lazy sacks. Fleck is an embarrasment and is one step from jail. As for the cooalition that JG 6:46 described if they were that good they would have beat Callahan im the primary..This seems over before it began and I dought any serious money gets behind Brown. That would be foolish.
ReplyDeleteThat is a list of real people unlike Fleck who seems a couple steps from jail.. Fleck/Reibman claim alot more than they are willing to list as endorsements, Mike put up or shut up!
ReplyDeleteTo me personally endorsements aren't worth the paper that they are written on
