Is This Why Ray O'Connell Supports Pawlowski's Agenda?

Ray O'Connell is an affable enough fellow. He even was a bit independent. At his time last year, he and the Iron Lady of Allentown, Jeanette Eichenwald were the sole No votes on an unpopular waste to energy plant for one of Mayor Edwin Pawlowski's campaign donors. But that attitude has now changed, and he is on board completely with Pawlowski's so-called Rising Tide, where the rich get richer.

What happened?

About three or four months ago, O'Connell's son got a job with the City's IT department. Before that, he had been jobless for at least three years.

Now he can snoop employee emails for Hizzoner.

Did this hire affect O'Donnell's attitude when it comes to voting with Pawlwoski?  You betcha'. I'm sure Ray could offer an explanation for this nepotism, but he has not returned phone calls placed to him yesterday morning and evening.

See, he's already learning from Ed how NOT to be accountable or transparent.

Ray is currently running for re-election. I wonder whether he bothered informing potential voters that his son works for the City.

  7. What's wrong with someone working for the city?
nothing. as long as the position obtained was offered to all qualified applicants and those applicants are FAIRLY vetted.
nepotism is evil as is the corruption likely to occur due to this improper hiring practice.

  8. Very disappointing. I'm not suprised at King Edwin's Chicago style politics, I'm sure every single job at the City is viewed as an opportunity to repay a political favor.

I am disappointed that yet another "public servent", Ray O'Connell, has broken the public's trust and been exposed for what he really is. Another dark day in Allentown.

  11. I have no respect for him, especially sine he could not be bothered to justify it to the public. O'Connell will be easily re-elected bc of his ties as an educator, but this unexplained nepotism takes him out in my book.

  14. I saw a Mota campaign today. Is she back in the US yet. O'Connell asked Concannon to resign after his Council misses. When will someone speak up against Mota.

  16. Well, although I do not support her, I believe her absences are more than understandable. Have a little heart.

  17. I saw the Mota sign and thought it confirmed her as a rubber stamp for the Dear Leader. "One City One Vision". Ed's vision I presume.
    Doesn't that say it all!

  19. Does Velez work for LVH? If she does, she will have them to contend with.

Most likely passive aggressively if she does not do their bidding.

If she stands up for what she believes in, caution.

She would be well served to ask around.

    Wow Ray, why?

  22. A campaign worker is placing Pawlowski/Mota/Guridy signs in clumps of 3 all over the area. Pawlowski is obviously supporting these two for City Council.

  24. Pawlowski openly endorses Mota and Guridy on his Facebook page. It's no secret he's backing their campaigns financially either... Their names alone aren't pulling Fleck money... please, it's obvious that Ed is attempting to buy their seats to do his bidding...

  29. They kept Moto out of the country to minimize her appearances before the public. The woman is less than compedant, less than knowledgeable, and less than articulate, She is wholly unqualified for the position.

  30. I guess connections mean everything. What scumbags get the lazy unemployed kid a job doing I.T. Ray OConnell should be ashamed of his action. Now he is ducking phone calls and questions. His son Brandon who took the job is a drug addict. Brandon is also the one who posted about doing homosexual acts for the information. No your Dad got you a job because your a drug addicted loser and now you work for the city. Did you do gay acts to get the job sonny boy? This is the people in power in Allentown sad. This is why the only good thing out of Allentown is Dorney Park.

  31. Do they do background checks on people working for the city!? Or do people take care of their own giving family handout jobs?
