ReplyDeleteNew Castle County Courthouse Shooting: Delaware Police Say 3 Dead, 2 Injured
ReplyDeleteThere may be. Details are sketchy.
ReplyDeleteWe need to do something right now. I would suggest we make murder and other gun crime illegal.
ReplyDeleteThat should stop all of this
WHAT¿
DeletePolice reports indicate the gun drove itself to the courthouse and began firing itself.
ReplyDeleteWhen inanimate objects animate to kill, we need to do something. I suggest passing eleventy kajillion new laws. Who knows? The next one might work.
"The man who opened fire and killed two women and injured two Capitol police officers this morning at the New Castle County Courthouse in Wilmington has been identified by numerous law enforcement and legal sources as David T. Matusiewicz, a former optometrist who spent time in federal prison for kidnapping his three daughters and bank fraud in 2007."
ReplyDeleteSo we are not talking ordinary/average law-abiding citizen with a weapon. Again, someone not entitled to carry a weapon did this.
The only thing gun-control will do is keep weapons out of the hands of law-abiding citizens who need them against the mentally-disturbed (who get no treatment in this country), convicts (who get out of jail early because of over-crowding) and the intoxicated (who also get no treatment and some of whom need to steal and rob to pay for their addiction).
Yeah, we don't need to do anything.
ReplyDeleteSure we do:
ReplyDelete1. Give the mentally disturbed treatment;
2. Keep violent criminals in jail, especially domestic violent offenders;
3. Actually treat addiction as opposed to warehousing these individuals and hoping they magically lose the desire to do drugs. This includes prescription drug uses too.
I think these are more difficult steps to take, yet will have greater success than turning the law-abiding populace into guinea pigs/fish in a barrel in a social experiment whereby criminals will have an easier time against an unarmed populace.
"Yeah, we don't need to do anything."
ReplyDeleteDisagree (despite the sarcasm).
Let's start by enforcing the 900+ laws currently on the books. The Obama DOJ has brought 40% fewer gun crime cases than the Bush administration's first term. Enforcement starts at the top and the current administration has not been very motivated. Could be an ACLU thing. I don't know.
Bernie's correct here, look how well control is working in Camden, Chicago and Mexico.
ReplyDeleteBernie what we can do is better account of weapons and ensuring the owners of guns are responsible for said weapons. If a weapon is lost or stolen they need to be reported. Guns to law abiding citizens is part of our culture and will not change no matter what.

Something has to be done. I propose thatthe government organize search gangs to go through everyone's personal possessions and confiscate any weapon they find.
ReplyDeleteThat will certainly end this mayhem.
Assuming that 12:33's comment is accurate, I suggest we do the following:
ReplyDeleteFind out how someone can kidnap his three daughters, commit bank fraud, AND be out on the street a mere 6 years later.
I would suggest that solving AND CORRECTING that mystery would do more to solve the problem than another gun law.
Ban murder now. It's time to make it illegal.
ReplyDeleteNorco should hire TMezz to bolster the security detail at the Courthouse, she is well trained with firearms, a true patriot, and a stunning cougar.
ReplyDeleteGun lovers are sick when they cannot see the need for balance.
ReplyDeleteMore than sick. Obsessive, ignorant fools. Children, loving their toys.
Make it mandatory that all law abiding citizens carry a firearm. You won't see this stuff happening. People will also be a bit more polite.
ReplyDeleteBernie, you are beating a dead horse. You are on the wrong side of the gun issue. Registration in the form of "background checks" is a good thing if it includes checking the records for mental illness. None of us want mentally ill people to have guns nor do we want crinimals to have guns. As a law abiding citizen I want a gun and I don't want to hinder your right to own a gun. The real "nut jobs" are the pelosi's who want to ban guns period. They are so anti gun they don't care what guns are sporting arms. They want all the guns off the street. I personally will not vote for anyone who wants to take away my guns and every gun I own can be defined as a "assault weapon". Every gun I have can be used in an assault so Pelosi defines them as assault weapons. I own sporting arms for hunting and recreational target shooting.

ReplyDeleteYou're so much smarter than gunowners no doubt. Know this Mr.high IQ , none of my weapons are toys.
Bernie, Like in school buildings during some knucklehead's 10 minutes of fame ,the response must come a person or persons already on site when a shooter shows up. The command and staff must focus on training and quantify,by numbers- the individual abilities of each armed person they employ. Repetition and coaching along with competition are the key to a successful countermeasures.The present police qualifications are not enough to deal with any standoff distance of a threat.School building locally are way less prepared than our NC court house and I don't expect anything from the school board .So ,I disagree, every facility need be assessed.
ReplyDeleteBernie, AT time moment sheriff deputies go down.They were confronted and out classed by this mad man. Had they been prepared properly in shooting shills there odds would have been greater. The Army Combat Coarse is a prime example of target acquisition that I preach on your web.Once again, we get what we get.This man is smarter that the average person that is after him , but lacks marksmanship skills compared to .........that's why they die on the job. God bless those officers families.
