Arcelay Campaign Finance Reveals Him as Pawlowski Puppet

Sal Panto and Ken Brown endorse Arcelay
When Ismael Arcelay announced his Northampton County Council candidacy, flanked by Easton Mayor Sal Panto and union boss Gregg Potter, he incredibly insisted - three times - that he'd be an independent voice. This claim has now been refuted by his 2012 campaign finance report, filed last week.

Allentown Mayor Edwin Pawlowski has donated $500 to Arcelay's campaign, making him Arcelay's largest campaign donor in a relatively small warchest. Arcelay has in turn paid Pawlowski's campaign manager, Michael Fleck, $1000 to run his campaign.

Arcelay's claim of independence, like his claims about his his political past, is just another embellishment. He needs to explain why anyone would want to vote for someone who esed his position on the Pennsylvania Human Relations Comm'n to pressure the Reading School District to hire him as some sort of diversity specialist.

  2. So, when you write, union "boss" you mean to say, union leader?

It really isn't beneficial to slant your reporting by using a negative connotation. Union membership elect their leaders. We all realize that you are anti-union. We also realize that perceptions can be twisted in how a story is delivered by the writer.

  3. He still has a little desk right outside of Pud's office?
Takes calls to Pud from the public?
Does absolutely nothing and is paid by taxpayers?

  5. anon coward 5:08,

    BO was nice.

I would have said greedy overpaid and over benefitted, underworked crybaby useless lazy union puke.

But I can see why you union fools would support this boy. He's just like you - worhtless

  6. Uncle Remus,

It's obvious, until you use your real name, who the coward is here..If you are going to make a personal attack, use your real name. Arcelay works for, and is friends with, Pawlowski..Of course he's going to get a donation from him..Geez bernie, is that all you got? Why do you feel the need to slam Arcelay? If Seyfried, Heckman , and Ferraro run, that leaves only two spots for the remaining two. County wide, Arcelay stands no chance of winning. This pawlowski plant thing is a joke..Seriously..

  7. Bernie failed ballroom dancing as an undergrad specifically because he has not Latin swagger and could not salsa, mambo, or merengue.

  8. That is why he bashes the Latin Lothario Izzy, it is borderline bigotry.

  9. 7:27, I love when one Anon attacks another for being anonymous.M guess is that pawlowski an his supporters will be the only ones backing Izzy. He is no independent candidate.

  10. 5:08, How 'bout this? Gregg Potter is a union boss and you're a union thug. Better?

  11. I would have thought that calling me names, like a union "thug" would have been beneath your abilities at writing and constructively arguing your position.

You know, as does anyone who writes, that terminology can be used to slant a story so that a perception is given to those who read it. Calling someone a union "boss" conjures up the 50's and 60's when the cracking of heads, corruption, and violence from both sides was the norm in labor disputes.

I have no interest in the particular candidate or office that is being sought in the story you blogged. I simply pointed out to you and your readers that your intent was obvious and that you might want to be more evenhanded in how you write.

But, if calling me a union "thug," rather than a union supporter makes you feel empowered, then you have proven my point better than I did.

  12. Great point 9:39..Couldn't have said it better myself..Bernie loves to slam people for personal attacks but continues to slam everyone who supports unions as a union thug and also attacks many of those personally who dont agree with his slanted view of the world..When his buddy trish Mez has her hearing with him for defamation she should just bring in all the people he defamed also..However, that would turn a day hearing into a month long hearing, lol..When are you going to finally understand that your issues with her are just Karmic Bernie..

  13. 11:30,

To make this clear, while O'Hare obviously writes articles that puts unions in a bad light and I disagree with him on that stance, it has nothing to do with the Mezzacappa litigation.

Because I disagree with him on one issue doesn't mean I disagree with him with respect to Mezzacappa. O'Hare has not threatened to shoot anyone and does not appear mentally unstable in his posts.

Mezzacappa is a hazard. Disagreeing with her would have me fearing a hollow point through my skull.

Arcelay is running at an at-large seat? What place does he have to finish in the primaries to possibly get into the general election? Then what are the chances he just squeaks by and gets the last open seat? There is a distinct possibly that this man might get on council. I hope not, though!

  16. There is very little possibility. very little....Questionable that OHare doesn't appear mentally unstable in his posts, lol..

  17. If he finishes 5th among the Dems, he'll go on to the general election.

If the shoe fits ... . Once you have our car window bashed in by a union thug or two, you'll start thinking that way, too. I saw union boss Gregg Potter orchestrate a completely illegal electioneering effort at Gracedale.

You get the prize for the funniest comment of the day.

Look up mentally unstable, there is a picture of O'Hare.

Also O'Hare hates unions because the unions won't support Callighan. He is anti-labor tnad they are no longer fooled.
