Amos a Big Hit at Moravian Holiday Luncheon

Thanks to fifty volunteers from Moravian College, over two hundred people in need were treated to a "seasonal feast" at Bethlehem's Cathedral Church of the Nativity on Saturday, December 1. Guests were treated to turkey with all the trimmings, and were serenaded by Delta Omicron, the College's Music Fraternity. But for the kids, the best part was a visit from Amos, Moravian's Greyhound Mascot, along with the coloring books his helpers handed out.

This is the 14th consecutive year that Moravian College has hosted a holiday luncheon for Bethlehem residents who might otherwise not be able to enjoy a seasonal feast.

Kate Cohen '14, a work study student at the Center for Leadership and Service, led the planning. "The College is grateful for an opportunity to serve the community," she said. Katie Dantsin, director of leadership development, called it an "honor."

Tickets for this holiday luncheon were distributed to needy families by New Bethany Ministries, Victory House, Trinity Episcopal Church, Fountain Hill School Family Center, Fowler Family Center, Turning Point, and Clearview Elementary School Family Center.

  2. Bernie is no more a teapotter than the man in the moon. Anyone that can make a nice function like this with the emphasis on kids a statement has a problem that should be addressed in other places.

  5. Clem is an intellectual giant of a man. People attack him because they can't refute his mighty insight and beautifully reasoned theories. The mind of a brilliant thinker and the heart of a poet.

  14. Looks like "West Easton Footprint," aka the Blog Mentor, had to delete his own attack. The real West Eason Foot Print," i.e. Mezzacappa, apparently doesn't like the impersonations that just started a few days ago. The Blog Mentor doesn't care about what others think. The ends justify the means. If you're not with him, you're against him.

  15. "Proof you don't need food stamps."

One meal every year is proof that 200 people don't need food stamps? Are you nuts?
