You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
what was his vision?
ReplyDeleteHis macro vision may not have been all that great. After all, he was Pres of the Steel. But he did amazing things with that property he liked to call Camel's Hump Farm. He considered himself a farmer in his later years.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you use the Housenick park in your blog when the event is not there but rather at the archibald conservation area. Are you intentionally trying to mislead people or just that uninformed ?
ReplyDeleteCheck your facts.
I looked at the directions and they appear to me to lead right to Housenick Park. To me, they pretty much are the same thing. I an think of only one person who would get all worked up over what really is an innocent post about an event that people should enjoy. By the way, parks exist to be enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteI know who my money is on!!
ReplyDeleteCould it be our fab Twp commish
ReplyDelete????
One can only hope some folks from the Beth.Central Moravian show up so they can see for themselves what their leaders want to destroy with the sale of the Prime bequest.
ReplyDelete9:08, Maybe.
ReplyDeleteIt's unfortunate, but instead of embracing these people and their project Township officials have gone out of their way be uncooperative with them. They don't want these do gooders drawing attention to the park when their ultimate goal is to destroy it. There are all kinds of hidden agendas. They have no intention on following through with Janet & Bill Housenick's vision.
ReplyDeleteEvery day that goes by more and more people see the significance of this extraordinary park.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful park. I hope Central Moravian doesn't just try to make a big profit against the wishes of Sister Prime, and can see the value of preserving this wonderful spot. What are they thinking at Central Moravian?
ReplyDelete@anonymous 9:46
ReplyDeleteObviously you're one of those annoyed Township officials who doesn't want the Housenick Park tied to the Archie Johnson conservation area, but the two are connected and go hand and hand. Really gets under your skin doesn't it?
You really stirred a pot here Bernie!!

ReplyDeletePoints out a real problem. Those who lack the insight to understand that the Conservation Area,Housenick Park and the E. Prime parcel are one of a whole.
The most causal observer realizes that the ONLY intelligent option is to plan and manage this unique and wonderful gift as a whole.
9:46 represents that small minority of Twp.officials who lack the vision to realize the obvious, and/or have no ability to collaborate.
The officials with a more positive and farsighted viewpoint will prevail.
The greater park at this location will be a gift for many generations to come.
God bless those officials and citizens who, working together, are creating this wonderful park.
What is Central Moravian thinking?
ReplyDeleteWhy they are thinking of making a quick killing selling off land clearly left to them for the purpose of providing shelter for wildlife and a park for future generations.
To ignore the wishes of the Jhonston family, a family that gave Bethlehem area Moravians so much, marks a very dark day for all good area Moravians.
I pray that the leadership of Central Moravian will not violate
their deceased members wishes or the important principles of Moravians everywhere.
Dont be distracted by the actions of a few rude or narrow minded Twp officers.
ReplyDeleteThe good and decent officials as well as the majority of good Twp residents will prevail.
The loud mouths and short sighted bullies expose themselves for what they sadly are. In the end I feel sorry for those folks. They must lead very unhappy lives.

The people at Central Moravian are great people.
ReplyDeleteThey will do what is right and just with that land.
Don't judge them by the few who see only financial gain.
