Simmons Endorsed By Three FOPs
The 131st District is represented by three police organizations: the Queen City FOP Lodge 10 of Allentown, the Haggerty Memorial Lodge #40 of Bethlehem, and the Le-Hampton Lodge 35 of Lehigh and Northampton Counties. All three have endorsed Simmons in his bid for re-election.
“It is an honor to gain the endorsement and support of the men and women who protect our families, our homes, and our community,” Simmons said. “At any hour of the day or night, these public servants stand ready to keep us safe from injury or harm. I am committed to doing what I can to protect them while they do their jobs protecting the rest of us.”
In notifying Simmons of their endorsement, Gene Hatcher, President of Le-Hampton Lodge 35 of Lehigh and Northampton Counties, cited Simmons' "continuing commitment to Law Enforcement" as part of the reason he received their support.
The Fraternal Order of Police lodges represent the men and women who work every day on our streets to help prevent crime and protect our families. After careful review of the record of both candidates, they decided Justin Simmons was the best choice to be their partner in the fight against crime. They know he’ll continue to be an advocate for police officers’ rights and promote policies that help police do their jobs - and make our neighborhoods safer.
“At a time when governments at every level must do more with less, I continue to focus on real priorities to help local families, seniors, and small businesses. Without a doubt, local police forces are a major priority and I’ll continue fighting for the tools and resources they need to keep both themselves and us safe,” Simmons said.
Simmons represents the 131st District which includes parts of Lehigh and Northampton Counties.
Blogger's Note: Simmons, a Republican, is opposed by Democrat Kevin Deely, a teacher.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
So what? Deely has been endorsed by Cheech and Chong, Doritos, and Twinkies.
ReplyDeleteSo a Republican who uses "Less Government" as an election pitch is endorsed by three Union locals that represent, Government employees.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense if you don't think about it. POLICE ARE GOVERNMENT!
Aren't the police pensions a big problem for A-town?

He's a handsome fella and seems to be sincere. Heard him on Gunther last week. Straight forward. No fluff.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't drink and drive, or hit girls. I like him.

ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head, the FOP supported someone who would not even think twice about dissolving their contracts and making them private employees.
This has amazed me and goes to show that most public sector union people are really stupid and do not understand why they had to form a union in the first place.
And I can't WAIT for the day when this kid recommends their dismantling at the state level and I will LAUGH and LAUGH
This guy and many others, will get my vote before Deely...

With every term he serves, with every pat on the back, Simmons will abandon his small government promises, make sure he spends on "the right interests" and morph into just another career pol who said the right things at time and then rode the wave of incumbency.
Those who bought into the boy who voted for the NIZ scam before he voted against it would like to believe that he's talking about training, equipment and headcount but, if he got the union endorsement, they are comfortable that he's not going to do anything to derail the gravy train.
As for Deely's candidacy, it is yet another example of what I said yesterday about the left.
Pothead? Who cares? He'll get us more slop.
PSEA has endorsed weedboy, of course. That tells you all you need to know about the character of those who influence your children every day.

Rs view cops as essential services and one of the few responsibilities of gummint. Too much is wasted on liberal spending and not enough is left to protect ourselves. Liberals hate cops.
ReplyDeleteOh Karen, are you mad because Simmons got the FOP endorsement and you didn't? This little clip comes to mind... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCZs3swN6NQ&t=0m19s
ReplyDeleteThis a non-story Bernie. Why don't you blog about every candidate that's been endorsed by special interest groups?
ReplyDeleteOh, now I know why--you've endorsed young Justin too.
Simmons is a major league douchebag.

ReplyDeleteBeyer was endorsed by the FOP
from the local level to the State Lodge.
ReplyDeleteThat Nutty ex-staffer failed to take her Medication again!
Hey Beyer..take solace to know that you were ousted by a rising star in the Republican Party. You were just the first to get in Mr. Simmons way. Your sour tone is old. Now go do the dishes.

ReplyDeleteThe ex-staffer is a stalker!
Take your medication! lol
Ms. Beyer..I am not an ex staffer but a constituent. Justin is always accesible and responds immedialtely to my concerns. He keeps our district informed of all that is happening in Legislature and is personally involved in the community. Not sure why you contunue to try and bash him?? Your hiding behind the anonymous name is so transparent. I voted for you three times and I'm sorry I did. You rarely were seen in our community and did nothing in the Legislature for six years.Mr. Simmons was/is the right choice for this district .I pity the Democrat that will run against him this November.

ReplyDeleteHey Einstein or should I say Justin. I'm also a resident and voter in the district and am concerned that you keep bashing someone as a show of your strength!
