Judge Anne Covey |
As originally proposed, Corbett's 2012-13 budget included a draconian 20% cut in mental health and intellectual disabilities funding. By the time his budget was adopted on June 30, some of this funding was restored.
In her Opinion, Judge Anne E Covey writes that "the budgeting process is beyond the power of the courts to direct. Courts cannot direct the Governor how to speak to the legislature any more than they can direct the legislature what amount to appropriate for specific departments within the DPW."
Judges Bonnie Brigance Leadbetter and Rochelle S. Friedman joined this Opinon.
Everyone is not a Republican and even some Republicans know that Corbett is the next thing to a "horses ass". When the Penn State fiasco finally reaches it end, You will find that Corbett the horses ass that he is bungled the investigation. How can Corbett not tax the "frackers" Because he got more than a million dollars from them? He will get his come upance. It will take time but he is not my ideal of a good governor,
ReplyDeleteI agree with your opinion, for some reason, Corbett thought he was going to receive praise for the Sandusky investigation...then everyone began to ask, Why did this take 3 years, with only one investigator. When was the last time he tried a case?
ReplyDeleteTime for the county Adminstrators to stop whining and make it work. Christ, it is not the first tight state budgert. What a bunch of whimps.
ReplyDeleteThis is what you get paid all those taxpayer dollars for. Make it work!!!
OMG - 3 judges that actually know their place in the separation of powers. Good for you ladies.
ReplyDeleteI do not think this suit got to the heart of the issues with the Block Grants.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the issue was raised, the Court never let it get that far.
ReplyDeleteBlame those who feed at the trough. School piglets, overtime-padding doughnut eaters, gubmint folks of every stripe. If they were true to their professed values, they would all have sacrificed to see that "draconian" cuts were never on the table.
ReplyDeleteInstead, they'll whine like the crybaby losers they are and tell us how awful we are for not giving up more to fund their nonsense.
Fuck 'em.
