Happy Turkey Day!
Updated 12:48 AM: Incredibly, I've already had to delete comments by the usual trolls. I will delete any comments that are mean-spirited or hateful.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
Bernie we don't always agree, however let me wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteAlso a Happy Thanksgiving to all my allies and adversaries in here as well.
Thanks, whoever you are.
ReplyDeleteGrateful for my new job which is everything I could ever have wanted. Also grateful for the health of my family and friends.
ReplyDeleteLots to be grateful for...25 years sober and seeing how very different my life has turned out than the course I was on. Happy Thanksgiving, to everyone out there. Cherish family and friends be safe and reflect on how fortunate we all our in so many ways.

ReplyDeleteTom Foolery, I appreciate it when you come in here with your independent opinion, and love betting with you.
10:05, Thanks, and the same to you.
We are thankful for so many things, hard to know where to start. Wife, kids, friends, health. The usual, but always most important, suspects.
ReplyDeleteThank you, as well, for keeping an eye on things we can't, letting us know about some good things (though we may differ on what, exactly, is a good thing) and the forum to mix it up with those who see things through a different lens.
On this day, a healthy and happy Thanksgiving to All.

Clem, Thanks to you, and for standng up to the voices trying to shout you down.
ReplyDeleteI hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by loving family and good food.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for all of the gifts that God has bestowed upon me. I am thankful of how my parents raised me, to always do the right thing for the right reason and never lower my standards even if (in the short run) it means losing. I am thankful that in the past year I have had the fortune of having so many people share their stories with me, and that I choose to be a voice for them every day.
Tony, It was, as far as I'm concerned, a victory. Right now, the leaves are falling off the trees, but they'll be back next year, brighter than ever. I admire people like you, who stand up for their beliefs.
ReplyDeleteI'm Thankful the elction is over. I am thankful that God made me an awesome person.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bernie, No matter how you look at it even in tough times WE all are all blessed. My hope is that we can endure with dignity.
ReplyDeleteGuy, I always appreciate and am thankful for your insightful comments.
ReplyDeleteTreat the earth well,
ReplyDeleteIt was not given to you by your parents,
It was loaned to you by your children.

Despite hard times we all have a lot to be thankful for. The foremost is to be blessed with being born in the greatest country on earth!
ReplyDeleteSpent the past four days in a hospital bed and just made it out for Turkey Day supper with the family and grand children. Am I thankful? You better believe it! Enjoy the remainder of this special day..one and all.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reliably enjoyable blog, Bernie!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving Bernie.
ReplyDeleteMonkey Mama, "c," and Dave, You are all good souls who make this planet, not just this blog, a better place.
ReplyDeleteI haven't forgotten that I owe you a pizza, lol..Should have done a double or nothing on this year's county elections..Amazing swing from 2009..
ReplyDeleteYou would have gotten me this time.
ReplyDeletewe are greatful for many things,
ReplyDeleteAnn McHale, Lamont McClure, Scott Parsons, Bob Werner, Ken Kraft and the one and only Steve Barron!
Stevie boy Barron is lucky an unfunded Republican with a checkered past ran against him. Let us see if he can string a few years of professionalism together without riding the current popular trend.
ReplyDeleteThe way he used the Gracedale problem to get votes was disgusting. The guy is pure sleazy fraud. A wannabe Callahan.
I thought Thanksgiving was just about prepping for selfish violence connected to Black Friday? lol
