Dent to Host Veterans Resource Expo This Saturday

LV Congressman Charlie Dent will host a Veterans Resource Expo this Saturday for local veterans and their families at Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC). The event will educate veterans, especially those recently returning from service in Iraq or Afghanistan, about the benefits -- education, disability, compensation, and other applicable entitlements -- available through government agencies. Representatives from county, state, and federal veterans’ affairs departments will be on hand to explain their agency’s role in the benefit process and describe the various services they provide veterans and their families. Additionally, representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be available to discuss the Patriot Express Loan program. A Mobile Vet Center from the Veterans Administration’s Wilkes-Barre Medical Center will also be on site.

This Expo will take place between 9 AM and 1 PM at the Community Services Center, Rooms 201a, 201b and 203, 4525 Education Park Drive, Schnecksville, PA.

  1. The only hot air is the Republican campaign slogan Jobs Jobs Jobs. I thought once they took over the House they wouldnt rest until they instantly created jobs, jobs, jobs.

They are too busy protecting corporate tax credits while slashing funding in order to advance their neanderthal social agenda.

    Jobs Jobs Jobs.

  2. These are all very laudable programs for our dedicated servicemen.

    Government assisting the deserving.
But don't they involve government expenditures??

Government doing good? Get the budget scalpel to prevent these programs being allowed to do whats rignt.

  3. Nah. Let's leave defense alone, take care of wounded warriors, and concentrate on eliminating frog spawning research and other bullshit spending.

  4. Political pandering at its most base level.

When will the Republicans pay for the two wars much less the thousands of future veterans who will need specialized care for a multitude of combat related issues. Multiple tours of duty in combat leaves a mark, even if unseen.

This nation lives in a dreamworld. The cost of the wars have not been paid much less the cost of the aftermath that will be astronomical.

That is the reality of life and war. Time to grow up and take off your silly tri-cornered hats and make grown up decisions if you want to wave the flag.

Senator John Kerry served our nation honorably in war. The closet you ever got to war, was in a cafeteria food fight, phony!
