Few have the legal acumen Doug possesses, and we believe his vast knowledge of the law, gained over many years, renders him uniquely qualified for the bench.”Those are the words of Pennsylvania State House Judiciary Committee Republican Chairman Ron Marsico (R-105) and Democratic Chairman Thomas R. Caltagirone (D-127), who have just endorsed Doug Reichley's bid for Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Lehigh County.
When Reichley sent me this bi-partisan endorsement, I teased that maybe they're just trying to get rid of him. But the truth is that Reichley is an experienced and accomplished attorney for nearly twenty years.
As a Lehigh County Assistant District Attorney for 11 years, he earned a reputation as a tough but fair prosecutor. He argued nearly seventy jury trials to verdict, including more than eight homicide cases, placing numerous dangerous criminals behind bars for life.
So if you think that Reichley is unqualified for this position because he is a State Rep who has little time for the courtroom, think again.
Reichley has some serious competition from Commissioner Dan McCarthy, Assistant DA A. Renee Smith and Melissa Pavlack. All four candidates have cross-filed.

It looks like the Harrisburg Dems want Reichley out of Harrisburg and in the Lehigh County Courthouse so they can pick up his seat. With the probable Republican replacement being Julian Stolz, it looks like a high probability to change hands with Reihley out of the way.
Bi partisan support? I think they just want him out of their hair.
Doug may have to explain his personal conduct if he wants to be a judge. Perhaps someone should ask him about his affair and the citation he got for peeing in public at a football game. He will lose the judge bid and everyone wants him out of Harrisburg.
I just went onto the aopc web page and see no evidence of any citation against Reichley. ... For anything. It is true that he went thru a divorce, but that happens to 1 out of every 2 of us.
Unless you are Reichley or his wife, you have no authority to speak on his marriage.
If you go to his campaign site, you'll notice he has a young daughter. Like any young lady, I am sure she idolizes her mother and would be upset by your comments here, which seem to be untrue or so long ago to be inconsequential.
Last time I checked, peeing at a football game is no basis for disqualifying someone from a judgeship.
If you want to make these kinds of personal attacks against a judicial candidate, you are going to have to sign your name to future posts.
I think Reichley would be a much better judge than a lawmaker quite frankly. I also think Dan McCarthy would be a fantastic judge, a much better one than county councilman. The man is a lawyer's lawyer. He seems to be much bigger than the role of councilman. Don't know anything about the others, but I wish we could elect both Doug and Dan.

I think it unlikely that the Republicans would appoint Julian Stolz as their candidate in a special election. I suspect there are at least a few other people with more experience and/or better connections within the local party who would be eager to have a shot at winning Reichley's seat.

Reichley canceled a "town hall" in south whitehall yesterday cause he was too busy for his constituents while working his campaign for endorsements
BERNIE: Check Bedford, Huntington and Schuykill Counties for traffic violations, Doug is a menace to society with the way he drives, although I think the poster referencing peeing and affairs might have Reichley confused with State Senator Browne

The town hall meeting was cancelled because Rep. Reichley was in Harrisburg debating HB 1, and was unable to make it back into the area to hold the meeting. The meeting has been rescheduled.
There is no harder working legislator in PA than Doug Reichley and he will make a terrific judge. Quit digging up dirt on this good public servant.
