Opening Day
To some of you, you know Spring's here when you see the Yanks or the Phils. To me, it's the kids. They still play the game for the pure joy of it.
Little League has started. Above, you see Dat L. at the mound for Northwest Bethlehem's LL Cardinals. He's one of four pitchers used. Their ace has a cool nickname. Harrison F. is known as "Harry the Heater."

Bernie,
Dat looks mighty imtimidating on the mound! We miss seeing you at the park on W. Center and Green.

Bill, That was Dat's introduction to baseball. After a weekend in which he played in his first-ever pick up game, he insisted his mom drive him to the park that Monday. "My team needs me," he insisted. Little did we know that this was the start of a kid who plays on 2 baseball teams, 2 basketball teams and one football team. He loves sports.
And that is thanks in large part to bigger kids like your grandson, who were willing to teach him.
The world is still full of lots of very good kids.
You have a great grandson and mine had nothing to do with that other than just being friends. He's fortunate to have a grandpop willing to spend a lot of time and energy with him. These influences mean a lot in the long run. It's too bad the petty grouches on your blog don't know the "Truth" (their words)...that you are a good, honest, caring man of principals. My grandsons aren't the only one's with a good friend.
Bill
