Slate Belt Economic Development Summit

What can local officials do to spur economic development in the Slate Belt?

I was unable to attend Wednesday night's economic development summit at the Slate Belt, hosted by the Northampton County Bulldog. But local Attorney Anthony Orlando was there, and did an excellent job taking minutes. He has given me permission to post them here.

The funny thing is Angle voted against the Bond issue that created this opportunity. He has never been one to let principals get in the way of his ego.

It's election time.

I see Angle was very well behaved at the meeting. No ranting, no raving, no snide comments, no GEO/prison comments and how the "want nots" were just "uniformed", etc. Is that his pre-election persona?

Angle has worked actively on slate belt economic development, and for years before he was on council.

Yeah, we know, that's why it is time for a change.

He still voted against the biggest economic incentive ever put forth for the slate belt.

He has preached for many years and bought up land but hasn't really done anything.

He voted against the ridiculous $111 MM megabond, which has fallen far short of the 30,000 jobs promised, but will cost taxpayers a quarter billion dollars.

He was involved in the formation of the Bangor Area School District Economic Development Authority. His work attracted Ultra-Poly Corp. to the Slate Belt.

Everybody has to beat on Ron Angle. Who else is spearheading any economic development?

Lol, you call it spearheading? After how many years? How much economic development did he muster up in all those years? Who would want to even do business with him? Time for change.
