At Notre Dame grade school, she's known as a stern 8th grade math teacher, a taskmaster who demands the very best from her students. But when they go on to high school, they're very glad that Maureen M. Thorley was one of their mentors.
Hanover Supervisors honored Maureen M. Thorley at their January 25 meeting for nine years of tireless dedication as Committee Chairperson of Boy Scout Troop 352, which is headquartered at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church. During this time, Ms. Thorley was instrumental in helping twenty-one young men earn the rare rank of Eagle. In addition to their proclamation, Supervisors established the week of February 6, 2011 as Maureen Thorley Week in Hanover Township.

So, the Township of Hanover promotes discrmination of homosexuals by honoring someone for years of service to a private organization that is allowed to legally discriminate?
Yeah, I'm sure that's what it is.
Congratulations to a wonderful lady. Homosexuals are all about freedom of choice - except when it come to Boy Scout's choosing not to associate with homosexuals. Why don't homosexuals start their own version of scouting? Oh yeah, it's called NAMBLA.

I am proud to know Maureen and have experienced, first-hand, her wonderful contributions to our youth. She graciasly donates her time and energy to her students throughout their education, the boy scouts and others. She has helped form many a student into a better person overall. Filled with great ideas, such as beads for improvement with the swim team, to math maintenance sheets that make many a student want to tear their hair out -- she is one talented and dedicated person. Bravo to Hanover Twp on honoring Maureen.
Ceborger, Your kind words are appreciated.
