Mario Martinez: "My name is Mario Martinez. I am a Reverend. I stand before you again simply to congratulate all of you for what has just transpired in terms of the change that has taken place. I congratulate you sir, Mr. Cusick, for the words that you shared on Monday. You spoke very eloquently about civility and fairness and I look forward to that. I like to wish you all a Happy New Year and I play to the Lord, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that He give you all the wisdom of Solomon."
Chris Miller: "One of the primary reasons you got rid of Mr. Angle as President was because of the fact that he was nasty. And that brought me to Abraham Lincoln and his search for a general to win the Civil War. During dark days of the Civil War, Lincoln finally was looking at a fellow named Grant. One of his advisors came up to him and said, 'No, you don't want Grant,he drinks a lot.' And Mr. Lincoln responded by saying, 'Send him a barrel of his favorite whiskey.' Mr. Lincoln didn't get mad and remove somebody who was doing an excellent job during a very, very terrible time."
Arlene Klocek Hanover Tp: "I'm not going to congratulate you because I'm really disppointed in what happened to the Republicans on this County Council that we voted for, and you need to know this.
"Mr. Angle did a fine job of calling the shots and keeping things in order, and he's the most conservative one that I know of."
Bethlehem Tp Planning Comm'n Chair Lee Snover: "When Ron Angle became President, I have to say, he put a face to this Board, he made this a body of government. I'm really disappointed that he did an excellent job and you didn't reelect him.
"Mr. Angle did an excellent job and I don't want to hear you crying to the newspapers that Ron Angle's obstructing Council, Ron Angle's making it personal, Ron Angle's stopping us from moving forward. You took a stick and you hit the hornet's nest and now you expect not to be stung. You just set your own government back, that's exactly what you did.
"He is absolutely a watchdog. He gave your body f government a face. He was available. He was really like a second Executive. People were really getting interested."
At least one fanatic bagger and Snover who has worked on Angle campaigns.
ReplyDeletereally a landslide of populist concern there O'Hare.
We The People, or at least three of us.
Ha ha
OMFG! Does anyone believe that these Angle supporters really represent the County. Give me a break. I feel embarrased for Snover for even appearing at a public meeting to support Angle and the type of nutty government he brings to the table everytime he steps foot in council chambers. Do these supporters realize that the reason Northampton County is viewed as a laughing stock in the Commonwealth is.... because of Angle! Good job Council in starting the long road of bringing back civility and good government to this County. BTW, I am a Republican too.
ReplyDeleteMr. Miller: Grant wasn't the general of a body of democratically elected people. A general, by nature, has a different responsibility. Classic apples to orange example
ReplyDeleteCheryl: you must be proud of the Tea Party led Republicans who engaged in a closed door meeting that violated state law. Angle's reliance on that meeting for his basis to call people "liars" shows how unfit he is for office. It also shows the other 5 to be unfit and untrustworthy.
Mr Snover: justifying obstructionism is just horrible.
Fun fact: Chris Miller was my 6th grade Social Studies teacher. That guy is out of his fucking gourd. He found out this one girl in our class was Turkish and went on a tirade about how horrible and brutal her people were. He told a 12 year old that her ancestors would rip guys' arms off and beat them to death with them. I'm sure the brain rot has only accelerated in retirement.
ReplyDeleteWell to be fair Jon, it's not just her ancestors. I mean if she didn't cover her face over in her homeland or know her role as a woman over in her homeland she'd probably get stoned to death or something else.
ReplyDeleteLast time I checked, Turkey is fairy secular. I don't think women there are treated that way.
ReplyDelete". BTW, I am a Republican too."
ReplyDeleteAs I indicated, many Rs do look down their noses at Angle.
I enjoying watching all this
ReplyDeleteOh how the "flighty" have fallen
and Miller sucks one big unfunded pension from the taxpayers
"gimme mine"
Gracedale workers don't deserve one though
I can't wait until
"We The People"
get our say in November
All the Angle haters are working OT to try to nullify his speech, in which he calmly takes three Council members to task for not honoring their work. Even Ron's childhood. The hatred runs deep.
ReplyDelete"he calmly takes three Council members to task for not honoring their work"...
ReplyDeleteGiven during a meeting that violated the State Sunshine Law. Condemn it all! Condemn the fact that Ron engaged in it. So far, you have managed to sweep this under the rug. You blasted Dertinger, McClure and McHale every time they did something that violated the Sunshine Laws (and they deserved it). Blast the 6 members who did the same. Blast Ron for his continued use of THAT violation as the basis for his anger.
Morgannelli needs to launch a probe into this and take the Tea Party led Republicans and their backroom-dealing county council members to task for violating the law and betraying the voters.
Excuse me, but I'm the person who reported this meeting. That's no way to sweep something under a rug. You are interested in scoring political points. I am interested in open government. I don't like what happened in that meeting, although they explain the primary purpose of the meeting was to discuss politics. I also don't like the second effort that went on behind closed doors, the one that resulted in Angle's ouster. I don't see you condemning that one. To be consistent, you'd have to condemn both.
ReplyDeleteWatched County Council meeting live.....when meeting ended, microphones were still on. Liked Ron's chat with Chris Miller and his invitation to come over or go out to lunch. Chris Miller isn't your everyday run of the mill constituent....he's bosom buddies with Ron.
ReplyDeleteChris Miller has a second career as a Realtor
ReplyDeleteHow much title search work do you suppose he tosses BO's way
and don't lie BO
I endure this Bore Miller as my neighbor
we talk
or should I say he talks
I placate the jerk because we can't move for 2 more years
I don't do any title work for Chris Miller.
ReplyDeleteOnly one member gets to be president. Perhaps Angle can be appointed Chief Potentate for Life, or some other honorary title that will salve his narcissism and continue to provide a springboard for his humorous antics.
ReplyDeleteJust when some were starting to take him sorta kinda seriously, he gets shot in the ass and is back to threatening retaliation against perceived enemies.
Just when some were starting to take him sorta kinda seriously, he gets shot in the ass and is back to threatening retaliation against perceived enemies.
ReplyDelete"Perceived Enemies"
isn't there a mental disorder that includes that as a symptom?
6:40. Are you possibly referring to paranoia accompanied by delusions of grandeur?
ReplyDeleteJon Geeting
ReplyDeleteDon't know whose class you were in but it was not mine. My only comments pertaing to the Turks was that it was said during the Korean War that when thhe Turks ran out of bullets they would use their guns as clubs and when the guns broke they would chew the enemy, North Koreans and evil communist Chinese,to death. This showed the courage and determination of the Turkish soldiers in winning the war. The Turkish Prisoners of War stuck together and evey single Turkisk Prisoner came home after that conflict. They were the only nationality to do that. Turks were one of our strongest allies at that time in history. Obviously you were not paying a whole lot of attention that day and shame on you for your slanderous comments.

ReplyDeleteYou are missing the point. Had Cusick been in charge at that time he would have listened to his aid and not selected Grant.
Mr.Cusick is not to going to be successful. Already he has indicated that he will be unable to attend the Airport meetings and might not get to the County Joint Planning commission as he is suppose to do. He is planning to appoint surrogates, Ms. Ferraro to airport and McLure to Planning Commission. Cusick is a teacher looking to improve his resume so he can run for County Exec against Callahan. He wants to portray himself as a man of the people with a willingness to listen to all. He has no plan and I suspect will be come a puppet of Ferraro and McLure the progressive on council. One other tidbit, I have been given to understand that there are now but 600 inhhabitants at Gracedale.

ReplyDeleteHate to tell you this but as a realtor I do not select the title searcher. Mr. O'Hare would be selected by the Title Company. The Title Company is selected by the buyer. I provide them with the names of at least 3 companies as well as the names of attorneys they might want to contact.
You might want to keep in mind that people other then you read Bernie's Blog.
You also might want to show your courage by using your name.
Chris,
ReplyDeleteI am glad you stopped by to comment. I had no idea whether you, an educator, would make a statement like that so a person whose mind you were entrusted with opening. I am glad to hear that you did not disparage this young lady's ancestors and that Jon must have you mixed up. You and I have tangled over Islam in the past, but I know you well enough to know you would not say something that would drive away a learning mind.
You gave a very good speech to NC Council, as did Lee Snover and the one woman whose name I never got right.
Your comment here is right on the money. I think John, a good man, should think again about whether he really has the time to be president. I know he's ambitious, but does he want to be blamed for sending the County in the wrong direction? Also, although very personable, Peg should allow others to do the heavy lifting.
Hey Chris, These folks don't realize that you and I disagree as often as we agree.
ReplyDeleteChris there are only 600 residents at Gracedale because the Administrators may not bring in new residents. That is the worse kept secret of the Stoffa Administration. After the emptying of beds to do the windows, the Gracedale staff was hindered from re-filling beds.
ReplyDeleteIt worked out great for the engineered "study" that used 2009 as a base year. A year with the lowest resident number in history and the highest cost per patient building repairs. This entire episode was a set-up. A brilliant political move by the Stoffa Administration but a set-up all the same.
Certainly you have the players in place to get your wish of dumping Gracedale. But those who know realize the empty beds are now a policy decision and not mis-management. One day when a few people are free to talk, the citizens of Northampton County will get the true story behind this sad chapter in County history where our most vulnerable citizens were used as pawns in a political alliance between Angle and Stofa to dump Gracedale.
Terrible policy decision with long term repercussions, probably the worst in County history.

ReplyDeleteDo you want to explain to me why the Administrators cannot bring in patients? My understanding is that the lower number is due to deceased individuals. There is no need to remain silent on this you should be at a council meeting telling us what has occurred here.
I want you to know that I have a very good frined among the opposition who has never told me about you insinuation. Stoffa would never stand for such action as you described and certainly the opposiion would be telling us all about it. Indeed Ms. Ferraor and her new found friends, Dietrich and Cusick, would be leading the charge to hang Stoffa and Angle. Thus I find you less then credible.

ReplyDeleteI retired in 1999 and did not c ome under the 85% pension fund put into place by Tom Ridge and his cronies in the PSEA and legislature. The teachers saw their pension boosted 25% and the state legislators received a 50% increase. Ridge was the first to kick this can down the road ten years. My pension was 60% of the average of my last 3 years. I was oppossed to the new pension. I was perturbed at the fact that Ridge and the PSEA did not consult the PSER's, retired PA workers, who were not in favor of his move. I believe that the state legislature should roll back the pension number to 50% for myself and the balance of the retired teachers as well as the stae legislators. Various people and groups, including the Commonwealth Foundation, have pointed out the huge debt that will have to be paid. Keep in mind that FAST EDDY had the opportunity to start payment when he came into office and didn't. He did, however, kick it down the road another year as he left office. No money at any level and we are in debt. I could lose my pension something I worked for for 32 years in an environment that grew ever more dangerous to the point that there are armed guards in the school where I and others disciplined bad students on a daily basis. Discipline has left the schools and teachers no longer teach.
I believe we need to phase out the current pension program and move toward IRA's or other pensions programs that are not defined. At the time I was there the major issue that has now exploded, is the health care benefit for teachers. This too will be eliminated. My pension is nice, about 29K per year after taxes but with prices increasing every year costs escalate. I pay my health care supplemental now for the wife and I as well as our drug and dental plan. As prices go up revenue goes down. I do continue to work and will probably continue to do that mainly because I hate sitting around for any length of time. I believe all of us will have to plan to work a bit longer if we want the continuation of entltlement programs. You really should work to eliminate Social Security and the Medicare and Medicaid programs. They ae a huge drain on all of us. In addition plan for the worst events and pray for the best to happen.

ReplyDeleteIf you listened carefully you heard me ask Ron if he was going to be home on Friday and he said that he would be. He asked me to come to his farm and I respectfully declined because I had other business. I did call Ron on Friday and asked him about the loans discussed on Thursday evening. I wanted to make sure that I understood that the county was going to serve as a go between the state and the applicants. I needed the information because I was going to deliver a report to the Tea Party group that evening and wanted to have the correct information.
I like Ron Angle because you know who he is and what he stands for in the first five minutes of meeting him. I am, sorry for you, far from being a bosom buddy of Ron's. Now you can believe that or not, personally I don't care. I like the fact that there is not a raise in taxes this year in the county despite the fact that Peg Ferraro wanted them raised 20% to save the steel workers' union and Gracedale. I liked that fact that he apoligized to Mr. Stoffa, a fine gentleman, and sat down with him and worked out a budget. The question now is can Cusik and his pal Dietrick match Ron's performance. I think not.
In closing let me invite you to the County Council meetings so you can be closer to all the whispering that goes on in chambers.

ReplyDeleteLet me also note that it was the Turks in a Jeep with a .50cal machine gun who were the first to mobilize on the Russian border upon JFK's putting the US Navy off the Cuban Coast during the infamous Missile Crisis.
Don't worry, I will see the Geeting kid one day:)
