You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
Bernie,
ReplyDeleteDon't think they postponed the game because of the players safety, rather the fans.
That's what they say, but I don't buy it. If they were interested in fan safety, they would have stopped serving booze long ago.
ReplyDeleteThink of the thoughtlessness of the original change from 1 PM to 8:30. Many out of towners attend these games and the schedule changes had to screw up travel plans, hotel stays, etc. with the short notices. As Jerry Glanvil said, the NFL will soon stand for Not For Long.
ReplyDeleteGreat call to move the game. After all there is a snow emergency in Philly right now. A snow emergency means only essential personnel should be driving.
ReplyDeleteIf they were to have it, that puts tens of thousands more cars on the slick roads.
As far as the booze people will drink no matter what. If they don't sell it in the stadium they will drink more in the parking lots.
What a crock. They've played through worse in Buffalo, Green Bay, New England, Pittsburgh. Anyone remember the Ice Bowl? Or the White Out in Chicago a few years back?
ReplyDeleteRoger Goodell is a Grass Fairy. Between all the restrictions, fines and suspensions for big hits and cancelling due to weather, he's turning it into the Neo Femme League.
It was a good call. No need to play in a blizzard just for nostalgia.
ReplyDeleteIt has nothing to do with "playing in it" it has to do with the people driving to and from the game.
ReplyDeletePennDot was very thankful of the rescheduling.
Again a snow emergency is exactly what it sounds like, it is an emergency!! Only necessary people on the roads. Not avid football fans.
I agree they have played in worse, and will play in worse in the future, but had the game remained at 1pm it would have been played in the start of the storm.
There are reports that both teams will wear dresses and matching hand muffs on Tuesday. The NFL is officially more effeminate than figure skating. Oh my.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to the subject of 'fairies", we defer to your personal expertise Boonie!
