Easton Patch Now Live

Easton's Patch has just hit the Internet news stands. It's edited by Morning Call alum Tom Coombe, who told me last week that he's really excited to be writing again.

But I have to warn you about a snarky and shallow column about Northamton County government, entitled "Are They Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" I's just the kind of trite nonsense ... oh wait. I wrote that.

It's wonderful.

  1. I guess I'll stay here & speak my voice - peace as the Patch site requires me to register if I want to participate, screw that...

  2. I won't fault anyone requiring registration. It is so easy to abuse the privilege of being able to post anonymously.

  3. I sent a note to them informing them that I simply can't commit to any more sources of local information websites. I'll stick with Google when I want to find something, even locally.

Now you are reporting for the Bethlehem Press which does and has provided some great local stories, except when I read it, it's like week old news and I'm too cheap to pay for a subscription so that I might get it sooner.

They didn't "hire" me. It was a freelance job, similar to what I do at The Bethlehem Press. And yes, I am a slut.

  8. Most people will not comment if they have to register. I try to keep is simple. But then I have to delete a lot, too.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
