Who is Using Severson?

I spent about twenty minutes looking at campaign finance records in Northampton County yesterday, and learned that the following candidates are using campaign maven Tom "Scissorhands" Severson:

1) Judicial candidate Jim Narlesky. - Finance records reveal payments to Severson firm Precision Marketing totalling $48,849. Narlesky is a former assistant to District Attorney John Morganelli.

2) Magisterial candidate Jackie Taschner. - She's paid Precision Marketing $7,666. Taschner is an assistant to DA John Morganelli.

3) Bethlehem City Council Candidate Joe Leeson. - He's paid the Serverson firm $1,674. He is Severson's personal attorney and directed a notary to acknowledge an "anonymous" signature from Severson.

  2. If that's supposed to be a joke, it's pretty lame.

  3. Northampton County has always been backward compared to Lehigh County, although since you sent Cunningham over he's pulling us down to your level very successfully.

  4. Narlesky is already walking on thin ice with his petition circulating fiasco. If Severson starts his tricks again this weekend, that will just add to Narlesky's problems.

Severson's bail condition is that he not engage in any criminal activity. If he commits crimes this weekend, one can only hope that his bail will be revoked and he is sent to jail.

  5. And on Tuesday, In perfectly legal fashion they are all going to win.

  6. Morganelli and his crew give me the creeps. Hitler killed 6 million JEws ad 6 million Poles in the concentration camps if anyone cares. I don't understand the reference to Severson though or if that was a joke.

  7. Narlesky has shown appalling judgment in using a convicted criminal who is currently under indictment.

Narlesky has also shown a complete disrespect for citizens by bombarding their homes with obnoxious robo-calls. His tactics are pure evil.

I want Narlesky to lose and then accidentally strangle himself with a phone cord in front of the lovely family who says he's way cool.

Don't let the sleazy Narlesky/Severson team anywhere near a judicial bench.

  8. I hope Jay Leeson has someone follow this hate blog. Maybe sue O'Hare, you won't get anything since he lost everything already. But it will become part of his already sleazy record

  9. "... looking for trouble. I found it, too, at a meet 'n greet for magisterial candidate Tony Sortino. But I'll have to tell you about that later."

    So what's the dice?

  10. It will all be decided on Tuesday when we see which of the two groups turns out in a stronger force, the Democrats or the Unions/Special Interests/Old Party Machine.

  11. Queen Anne just sent another flyer telling her loyal unwashed subjects who they should vote for. I was distressed to see Deborah Hunter on there. I really like Deborah and I think that will hurt her.

Yeah right. Like there's any difference. They are all heads of the same ass/donkey.

  13. Isn't it time to investigate Morganelli finally? What did he know and when did he know it? Has he committed and/or abetted any crimes? He seems to run with a slippery crowd. A guy like that should not be DA. It's getting like Cook County when the crooks owned all the pols.

  14. What is Judge Panella doing for a consultant now that Severson is in trouble ? Panella paid him a lot of money in 2003.

  15. What is Morganelli's rationale for being DA if he's not obviously doing his job? It is the salary? What perks does he get? What's in it for him?

  16. Bernie,

If these candidates really are using someone who is convicted, why are you not taking this to the Morning Call and Express Times first thing on Monday morning?

  17. McHale did send the most curious flyer today. It had a section to cut out to take with you to the voting booth to remember who to vote for with her name checked off so you wouldn't forget. This was a tactic used by Unions in the old days when so many voters were illiterate or immigrants that couldn't read or write English. They used the cards to match up the letters of the last names to know which candidates were Union friendly. Nor bad nor good, it just seemed an odd tool for modern day Northampton County were there are only 8 candidates to choose from and most of us are literate nowadays. I won't be needing my little card. I'm able to remember all eight candidates and will have my memory jogged when their names magically reappear inside the voting booth on the ballot.

  18. Stoffa is going to beat a candidate that ran the worst campaign in county history and not by much. He will be weaker than ever.

  19. "I hope Jay Leeson has someone follow this hate blog. Maybe sue O'Hare, you won't get anything since he lost everything already."Um, this is a fairly neutral post that lisets three candidates who are using Severson's Precision Marketing and the amount paid.

Only in the world of Joe Long Dems can someone be sued for telling the truth.

  20. "Stoffa is going to beat a candidate that ran the worst campaign in county history and not by much. He will be weaker than ever." -

All that matters is that Stoffa get one vote more than McHale. That will be arepudiation of Imperious Ann as well as the party machine that thought they would easily beat Stoffa.

  21. Anion 5:54, these candidates really are using Severson's outfit. Newspapers are reluctant to write about individual candidates in the waning days of a campaign.

  22. "What is Morganelli's rationale for being DA if he's not obviously doing his job? It is the salary? What perks does he get? What's in it for him?"

He hates his job and has been trying to get out of it for years. Sadly, he's a three-time loser who is a statewide laughing stock in his own party. He even managed to lose last November when all Democrats in PA had to do was fog a mirror on election day. PA's joke is our unchallenged and very sleazy DA. Terrific.

What;'s in it for him right now is a paycheck. He's lucky he won't be on work release soon.

    ReplyDelete
  23. One has to wonder where Morganelli was during all of this. Was he too close to the situation to do what a good DA would have done? I heard him on WGPA on Friday and he was talking about how close he and Jim Martin are even though it is common knowledge that Morganelli was angry at Martin for working for AG Corbett in the last election. Further, Morganelli pulled out of the Crime Center proposal without telling anyone he was doing so because of Martin's support for Corbett. Now he's after an additional position to solve long standing murder cases when he should have been doing this all along instead of arresting illegals and throwing them into the County Jail at taxpayers' expense where they will end up back on the streets anyway. This is the Federal Govt's role and not his. Those in the know tell me that he is lukewarm to a child advocacy center being proposed in Northampton County which would greatly assist sexually and physically abused children.

  24. Morganelli is a political hack, at best. He's an unindicted co-conspirator at worst. How does an ethical oil slick like this guy keep getting elected? Follow the county's one-lever sheep. They'd vote GW Bush for DA if he ran as a D.

  25. Bernie, Re: Narlesky Campaign
How can someone afford nearly $50,000 for a local election.

I must agree. No way Narlesky didn't know. No way.

Has anyone seen McHale outside of Bethlehem or the COurthouse. I keep asking people around the county and no one has seen her in ther town. Do you think she knows that there is a huge voting population outside of Bethlehem? Has she ever been outdise of her perimeter? I would think that a conty exec should be more in touch witht he entire area.

  28. Bernie. Do you think Narlesky and Tachner will win on Tuesday?

  29. So all the Dem Council candidates are supporting McHale over Stoffa except Will "Ovulation" Power?

    ReplyDelete
  30. 8:19

    Probably. Baaaaaaa.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anon 8:19 & 8:21,

I know Power supports Stoffa. I know Dertinger hates Stoffa. I know Garvin is a Joe Long Dem. I suspect candidates like Lorraine Pasquali were recruited by the Long Dems as someone they could control. I think Hunter is a smart candidate who is not so easily fooled. Wallace has exhibited some independence, too.

    ReplyDelete
  32. None of the Council candidates are supporting McHale over Stoffa, except Garvin. McHale put them on her flyer to give that impression. I can only imagine their frustration of being lumped together with her. I hope it doesn't hurt them. Some of them are good.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I will try to find out where they stand. I would be surprised if Dertinger supported Stoffa. It would be nice if he started supporting him on council.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Dertinger supporting Stoffa? Right. I think Dertinger and Garvin support McHale and the rest will Stoffa whether they will admit it or not with Ann slapping their knuckles with her yardstick telling them what to do.

    ReplyDelete
  35. This stuff is sooo old. Severson has been playing with Dems and playing both sides since Paul McHale's congressional in 1992.

He started to do work for McHale because he was mad at Don Ritter and Morganelli and Leeson got him hooked into the campaign.

I heard McHale's manager (I forget his name) cut Severson off without a lot of fanfare and in the process probably saved McHale from a huge mistake.

Ironic that Severson is playing around with a new McHale and the other usual suspects. The world of Lehigh Valley politics keeps turning yet still stays the same.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Dertinger isn't stupid. He hates Stoffa but knows that if McHale wins, it will be disastous for the County AND the Longgoons since anyone associated with her will be dragged down with her catastrophic potential administration and tenure. He knows the best way for the Longoons to survive is if SToffa is Executive and he and McHale don't lose their seats on Council and if Ann continues to keep cameras out of hte Council Chambers so the public can't see what goes on.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hey 3:12, Like the last four years haven't been a total washout for the County. Stoffa is no turtle just an empty shell. thats why that turtle don't move.

  38. 12:33 PM Anonymous said..." This stuff is sooo old. Severson has been playing with Dems and playing both sides since Paul McHale's congressional in 1992."

correction in order: Severhands has been corrupt and playing both sides since mid 1980's when I was R NorCo Party Chair '86-'88! I advised everyone, press included, fired him from County Committee and advised many since then, few listened and now his dastardly deeds finally out for all to notice. Takes some time (over 20years) for folks to catch on! Better late than never, is my opinion.

  39. McHale's flyer is clear. If you like her, vote for Hunter, Pasqualo, Wallace, Garvin and Dertinger. If you like Stoffa, vote for Power. They have nothing to worry about cause ani't nobody voting for SToffa.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Power and Stoffa + Angle and O'Hare. Now that is a team that screams sanity. NOT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I didn't realize that all the candidates were Long Democrats but Power. I'm surprised, especially with the two women, they didn't strike me as Long Dems. Voters need to remember that they don't have to vote for five. They can vote for only one or even zero.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Because Power is the only free thinking independent Dem, not controlled by Joe Long like the other five, he'll get votes among the educated voters that follow politics. Because he's not last on the ballot, he'll get even more votes from the uneducated voters that don't follow politics and just pick the first five. He's a survivor for the general but I don't know how he'll fare when the Reps join in and there more in the mix to choose from.

    ReplyDelete
  43. So the rationale for Mchale's campaign is "im not stoffa?" that doesnt sound good. Does she have issues, etc? A theme? And she and stoffa will rank as worse campaigns since reibman 2005 primary loss

    ReplyDelete
  44. Eductaed voters support Power-Stoffa, really?
Do they support his police record or his crazy history? Maybe both, those whacky educated voters.
