You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.

Funny, I saw this last week while surfing through some of your blog links.
ReplyDeleteFunny commentary on stereotypes at the end, how the GOP's candidate is an ex-prisoner, with a running mate who's a gun-totin' momma of five with a knocked up teen aged daughter...and thats the "white candidate".

ReplyDeleteI'm assuming that you got that 13% from the New York Post poll that was released a day or two ago.
There are other polls that have Obama anywhere from tied with McCain to your 13%.
Don't get all gung-ho yet! There's still a week to go and Republican radio is really trying to push the terrorist angle!
I guess you guys are ok with looking the other way from the fndamental immorality of taking a person's earnings and "redistributing" them to those who had no hand in the earing itself

Bernardo, your logic is usually unassailable, so help me out here...because we've paid subsidies to sugar growers, it's somehow morally ok to take yet more and give it to other non-deserving parties? maybe you're right, but connect the dots for me....

ReplyDeleteMaybe, but the key term there is 'growers'. Growing is work. Rewarding those who work is fine, it's the handouts to the sluggards that cause failures. Rewarding indolence is inimical to society.
Look at the 'credit meltdown.' It's not because of the people who work live within their means who caused the problems; sluggards again. Oh yea, and Barney Frank is also to blame on that mess, too. This guy is so oblivious he didn't know his partner was running a prostitution ring out of his house and now he's a vaunted expert on financial matters??? lol. Beavis or Butthead would be an improvement in that district.
