Nazareth Looks Like Crap

Before you Nazarethphiles burn me at the stake, let me explain. That suggestion was made by Borough Council VP Larry Stoudt at last night's council meeting. Larry apparently was tooling around, and noticed the "borough really looked dirty over the weekend."

Where?

Mostly, it was in front of my estate atop the Nazareth Army Navy store. According to Stoudt, Nazareth is a filthy, crappy mess.

"What kind of dirt did you see?" asked council member Mike Kopach.

"Dirt! Just ordinary dirt!" answered Stoudt.

Council member Cindy Werner suggested they consider passing a law requiring everyone to clean the street in front of their homes, or at least the gutter.

I'm serious.

Everyone just looked at her like she's nutz.

Let me tell you how Nazareth got so filthy. My jeep has a hole in the floorboard and empty tastycake wrappers and old cups have been cascading onto the street for months. Don't tell anybody. They're all clean freaks in this town.

Even the frickin' dogs.

I don't know about main street, but Victory Lane leaves alot to be desired. I was walking my dog last night and noticed about 5 piles of dog poop. Are people really that inconsiderate? If you are walking your dog and they leave a little something behind what is the big deal in cleaning it up. Would they not clean it up if it where their own lawn? People walking their dogs should always be prepared for things like this to happen. If they don't pick it up now what makes people think they will keep a dog park clean!!!!

Maybe there aren't enough occupants on Main Street to maintain the area ;)

Seriously, I have a big gripe with the Park near the council chambers and the grassy area near Hall Square. I love seeing people utilize these areas. Every Sunday I sit on my porch and watch the impromptu football games that take place. But at the end of the day, when everybody is gone, it is covered with junk; wrappers, water bottles, paper, people even leave their sweatshirts on the ground. And it isn't just kids; entire families are guilty.

Can't you be fined for not picking up your animal's droppings?

AJ, In Nazareth, the dogs are mostly trained to use the toilet.
