Please Forgive the Technical Difficulties

This evening, I was in a rush to get home to start transcribing the Charlie Dent interview. The first thing I did was to transfer the recording to my hard drive, probably in too much of a hurry. When I tried to open the file, pfffffffffffffftttt.

My media players are incompatible with .voc files, and the software that comes with my recorder won't recognize the file.

Uh oh.

I spent most of the evening trying to download a program that works. So far, I'm SOL, but will find one sometime this weekend. If all else fails, I'll call Joe Long.

So I'll delay the interview until I can get a media player that works. I would prefer to give you Congressman Dent in his own words. I apologize for my stupidity, but you already know that.

  1. You on a Mac? If so, there is shareware called Soundconverter available here that may work. I have never used it, so I can't say if it's any good or not, but I thought it couldn't hurt to check it out.

Good luck with the technical difficulties.

  4. Anon 11:30,

It's not a tape but a digital recording. Bennett needed no mind meld. I screwed things up all by myelf, fortunately an expert is working on it. I transferred the file to a flash drive and hope to have it an audio that i can hear within a few days.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
