Northampton County's Other Democratic Party

There is only one thing more screwed up than the Northampton County Democratic machine - Northampton County Republicans. The local party reorganized last night at the county courthouse, but I don't know who was named chair and vice chair. I do know Dapper Dan the Clown will be at a Ron Shegda fundraiser on Saturday. No charge!

Professional courtesy.

There was nomination, second and a unanimous vote for Roy Shuman as Chairman followed by the same procedure for Vice Chairman who is Dottie Niklos. If one was in the room, it was obvious, What may have been confusing to a non member was the breakout session afterward in which the local committees voted for chairmen of their georgraphic regions.

So there you have it

Roy SHuman Chairman

Dottie NIklos Vice Chairman

Thank you, not so casual. Can you tell me why some prominent Rs like Charlie Roberts and Ron Angle were not there?

Are you saying Dapper Dan the Clown is in charge of the Republican Party in Northampton County? Is that an improvement, or are they continuing as status quo? Why doesn't Angle run for chair, than you can see what a blowhard he really is?

Anon 8:56,

That blowhard was just overwhelmingly elected to a third term. But I hear rumors of fractures and divisions under that "big tent."

If Charlie Roberts (nice guy but utterly, pathetically, ridiculously ineffective) and Ron Angle (who likely can't spell Republican without several prompts) were absent, then Rs gained by their subtraction.

It's a one-party county and these two crafty veterans have had a large part in making it that way. They've done quite enough.

Any more of their hard work and NorCo Rs will be legally rounded up and deported - just like those dirty immigrants who keep Morganelli and Severson up all night.

What are the Republicans worried about, you already have a republican in office in John Stoffa.
Backed with big bucks by a prominent republican and also supported against Nyce by Angle and other Republicans.

Why would you want Ron Angle in charge of the Republican Party ? He is the single most unpopular public figure in Northampton County history. He could not even beat Reibman. Whats that tell you. Angle is of such low repute he is not permitted by contract to utter Elmer Gates' name in public.

Stoffa is no R. His bait and switch on the bond waste solidifies his D status. Just because your particular spendthrift isn't running the county, don't think for a minute he ain't a D.

You are right. Stoffa is not a Republican. He's post-partisan like Obama. Except in Stoffa world, that means not getting anything done.

How the frick can a post about the local R reorganization be turned into a slam against Stoffa? Man, there's a lot of unhealthy hate out there, and it's unhealthy bc it is irrational.

Bernie, maybe the post was just a teeny bit irrational? See how easy it is for things to get off track? 'Nuff said.

The Republican Party will be screwed up - nationally and locally - until they get back to basics and advocate policies based on Republican principles.

Our party has been hijacked by political handlers who have become enamored by the following:

1) we must walk across the aisle and compromise with liberal policies - which means agree with them.

2) the only goal is to win elections, no matter what.

3) we must have a "big tent" which will include anyone no matter what they think.

4) we only have to paint Dems as "liberals" and/or "unpatriotic" and we can win elections.

All four points are proving to be massive failures as I pointed out in my analysis of the three special congressional elections. Republicans don't vote, unless we have a series of specific reasons to do so.

And, has been proven many times, when we advocate specific policies based on principles, we usually win elections with strong Dem support.

The R's will suffer more massive defeats until we understand the 4 points above.

Democracy is served best by having a real policy debate based on real differences. Democracy is weakened when politicians choose not to lead and instead, react to flawed polls.

Hey Bernie,

I thought the two "parties" in Northampton County were:

1) those that vote the way Joe Long tells them to
2) everybody else

Please help me to understand.

Thanks!

Dave, Now that sounds rational!
