Lehigh County Election Freddies
But Dean, it just doesn't have the same ring.
You want Lehigh County? Go west, young man, to Northern Lehigh Valley Logic. I loved his Election Freddy Awards, and would have plagiarized them, but he's a lawyer. For some biting humor and sarcasm from slightly crazy dudes like Addicted, there's The Lehigh Valley Political Blog, a Chris Casey creation.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
Bernie:
ReplyDeleteI do read the other blogs that you list. However, none of them matches the frequency and the ahead of the curve news content of your site. Also, the lack of shrillness coupled with the fact that you don't appear to take yourself to serious makes your's far and away the best. Even my wife reads your blog. (Although she also reads Chris Casey's so maybe that isn't quite the endorsement I think it is.)
Anyway, there were a number of races in Lehigh County such as the Clerk of Judicial Records, County Judges, DJ in North and South Whitehall, Allentown City Controller, Supervisor in Upper Saucon, etc. that I was hoping would get at least get a nod from the Not West of Route 33 Rambler.
I would have commented on these myself but as a candidate I didn't think that was appropriate. Also, my posts are not designed to elicit coverage of my campaign. I'm not sure I want "the full Bernie". Rather I was hoping you would bring your talents to bear more on this end of the Lehigh Valley.
I'lltry to do better in LC. Besudes, NC council is ready to string me up. At last council meeting, Wayne Grube brought a rope!
ReplyDeletehaving Bernie cover you is a mixed blessing. He can tear you up just as easily as helping you.
ReplyDeleteFair warning... you just might get what you request.
I know - Be careful what you want for you shall surely get it. Hence my comment that I wasn't sure I wanted the "full Bernie". But then again that is part of running for an elected position.
ReplyDeleteAddicted was all over the Allentown City Controller race, and even mentioned that council candidate had felony charges pending. People are free to read and write want they want, whatever topics they want
ReplyDeleteTHE FULL BERNIE!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very dangerous statement. Be very carful what you wish for. The illogical, irrational ranting may be more then mellow Lehigh County can endure. Power to the REAL people!
Bernie, please do not attempt to spread yourself thin. It's your type of narrow/focused reporting, that does us best.
ReplyDeleteSome may not want another one of you because of your honest opinion and circle of relationships but this anonymous poster and avid reader of your news/information is very much appreciated.
The biggest upset in Lehigh County if not the valley has to be Whitehall Executive race. Ed Hozza Jr beat Dan Mcneill. A stern message was also sent to the seated Commissioners as well. Relatively speaking, there was no apathy in Whitehall as compared to other Primaries.
ReplyDeleteDean, I held back because at least you had the decency to state your positions and appear in public to answer questions, but by your response to Bernie's blog, are you suggesting we let her rip when we do not agree with you, while your opponents stay quiet and give us little to rip them on? By way of fair warning, if it is issues that you want on the table, I certainly have another opinion, just thought it was not fair while others have not even put their mouth on the table, as you have done. Are you setting us free? Candidate should comment on issues, that is what give us stuff to decide on.

ReplyDeleteI'm only illogical when I forget my pills.
Anon 6:19,
ReplyDeleteI'll send you my IOU tomorrow.
