Two years ago, when Ryan Mackenzie ran against Susan Wild in the Pa. 07 Congressional rare, I voted for Lou Shupe as a write-in. He has asked me to post a "Ask Me Anything" blog. I agreed but not before asking him why he's always too lazy to try to get on the ballot.
His explanation? "Since I announced my latest Democratic candidacy on January 9th, my windshield was shot out a day before my first campaign event on February 2nd, (please see exhibit a), luckily a supporter was able to pay for an Uber to get me to Lafayette college on February 2nd where I found it difficult to distinguish myself from the others as we were all pretty much in agreement. And my sister got sick and died a few weeks later. Distracted, I was. Then I moved into her house so my nephew who has special needs did not have to move. For that, several democrats accused me of being a carpetbagger like Senator McCormick. They would rather continue to see me homeless. But no, that wasn't enough."
"In the weeks that followed, I have been banned, shunned, stalked, doxxed, almost run over, hacked, vandalized, unfriended, blocked from posting, discovered who my real friends are, and much more while dealing with mold and blood infections from wearing my prosthetic too much and literally punishing my stump to where I could not walk for days at a time."
He sent me a pic of his stump and I believe him.
Ok, so here's what Lou has to say about himself.
Greetings all. My name is Lewis Shupe, and I am running a write-in campaign to become your Congressional representative in the PA 07th congressional district. So why should you vote for little old me? First off, I'm ugly. Second off, I have a plan available on real change dot us but I'll summarize most of my platform below. I could go on bashing both of the candidates, but they seem quite busy and effective enough trying to own each other.
- Reverse the SCOTUS decision "Citizens United"
- "Why is it that our constitution is considered the highest law in the land, yet it is infringed the most and infringers punished the least?"
- Reversing the trends of infringement against our constitution and amendments.
- Public funded political campaigns at all levels, unless you prefer "The best democracy money can buy"?
- On my first official day, I will propose some version of the American Anti-Corruption Act.
- I would also propose a "Journalistic foundation act" to create a new exception in the IRS code similar to a 501 (c) 3, but benefiting news organizations.
- Single payer healthcare.
- When possible, stream non sensitive events directly to my voters like I sometimes did with the Facebook group “Let’s Build a New Allentown Together" This also includes all lobbyist meetings, they will be streamed directly to the registered voters by my hand.
Full restoration of The Fairness Doctrine. Removed by Republican President Ronald Regan in 1987.
Ranked choice voting.
Right to repair.
Repair or replace SS7 or System Signaling Seven, an operating system used by telecoms and abused by spammers, scammers, and governments.
Data Center moratorium.
Hand marked paper ballots.
To save this planet for future generations, it’s the only one with beer.
All bullshit
ReplyDeleteI prefer the term "bovine manure". And this is not it.
DeleteBernie, I also will be writing in Lou's name. I've known Lou for many years, and have gotten together with him a couple times in the last year. While I arrived from blocks away in the comfort of my car, Lou came in a wheel chair, on a bus, from many, many miles away. He would represent us with a sincerity we never experienced with an elected official.
ReplyDeleteI wish Mr. Shupe all the best peace and happiness he can find in what appears to have been a difficult life so far.
ReplyDeleteMr. Shupe sounds unique in believing the biggest problem facing citizens with today’s American government is really our House, Senate, and Judiciary. All three groups are beginning to disregard our nation’s Constitution. Many in those same groups really are CORRUPT, SELF-SERVING, LYING BASTARDS. Some of which are breaking laws by the day without consequence, all the while wasting our precious tax dollars.
President Trump is really NOT this nation’s greatest threat. Far from it. By now, everyone should have recognized Trump DOES work within the confines of Constitutional law. He yields to the Courts despite how compromised and flawed they might be.
Our entire Congress, however, needs a good flushing out. However, we need to be careful who we select to replace them. I voted for Mackenzie. Brooks, in my opinion is of lesser quality. Mackenzie deserves one more term. But, after that I be voting for someone else.
He seems like a nice enough fellow and his personal tragedies are touching. But nobody asked him to engage in politics and his stances are decidedly communist and heartless for society. He's a vicious wolf in sheep's clothing from Central Casting. I wish him safety and I wish him the best. I also wish he'd take his tired crap to Russia or China or some place where statists are welcomed and cared for. But a vote for him is a vote for Mackenzie. Have at it and wear it out. Your vote won't be wasted.
ReplyDeleteBoth Russia and China would arrest me if I stepped foot in their countries right now. In China, I have friends who are currently in jail there since before covid. 4 years ago I spoke out against Lisa Scheller when she ran against Susan Wild, suggesting she had 0 day malware in her Chinese factories. My reward was for the Chinese to almost succeed in hacking my web server. Only my knowledge of Apache saved the day but with a lot of work on my end.
DeleteRussia wouldn't like me because when they first invaded Ukraine in 2023 for a while, I found myself teaching them how to hack. Soon. I found myself out classed when they started discussing things I did not know yet and so that continues to be more a learning experience for me.
As for my stance as being communist and heartless, nothing could be further from the truth. No, I am not a wolf in sheep's clothing. I'm as real as it gets. Please read real change dot us and reconsider.
"As for my stance as being communist and heartless, nothing could be further from the truth."
DeleteThings communists say.
Oh, and I am not a vicious wolf, I am a good wolf. I don't pee on the carpet.
DeleteHonest, but laughable. Wish him luck with his personal problems.
ReplyDeleteTrump will not be seen with ugly people (with the exception of folks with Maralago faces) or amputees. So hopefully Lou's got a spectacular ass if he's hoping for even a remote possibility of meeting with the president, should Shupe win as a write-in candidate.
ReplyDeleteStop wasting your vote.
ReplyDeleteThe only vote wasted is the one not cast.
DeleteYou're way too extreme for me. You're fortunate enough to live in a Country with 1st Amendment rights- you'd be in jail in any communist country.
DeleteHow so?
DeleteShupe starts off as a chronically homeless person through no fault of his own . Just a regular Joe schmo who's been shunned from the workforce because of his disability. Comes off as likable enough until such time you attempt to engage him in actual solutions to long term problems. He's a cross between AOC and El-Sayid, truly hates personal accountability or anything rational . He's far left with a belief system that there's no tax too high, no government too big, and no border too open. Let everyone in and charge millionaires for medicare , food and housing for all. Just no!
ReplyDeleteIf I hated "personal accountability", why would I be here? Rational? please read real change dot us, as there is much to digest. Solutions, I have many. What might you improve on? Until last march I was homeless, but not unsheltered. Before I was disabled, I was working as a programmer for a security firm. The job ended amicably before the amputation, then I had to nickle and dime my bonus to survive since I could not navigate stairs at first.
DeleteGet on the ballot. Otherwise this is just ranting.
ReplyDeleteI tried, but the bullet in my windshield forced a different path.
DeleteStop with the nonsense.
ReplyDeleteNonsense? How so?
DeleteObviously an unserious clown as evidenced by his 3rd grade level correspondence here.
ReplyDeletePlease, try a more challenging question than a 3rd grade barb?
DeleteA Vote for Lou is a vote for Ryan so have at it. I recently heard a rumor good ol Lou is Homeless and lives in the Hamilton Business Center. If he can't mange his financial resources how can he manage the district?
ReplyDeleteA vote for me is not a vote for Ryan. If you read above, I live in what was my sister's house. My office is at the hbc as I have been closing it down but my data center is still up. Social Security is not enough. In Congress, I would like to fix that. Limited incomes did not keep pace with inflated real estate prices thanks to the CDC's eviction moratorium, which interrupted the landlord's cash flow. How can I manage the district? How about with your help? Join me.
DeleteWho is Lou Shupe, a crank? And, a Shupe vote helps Ryan McKenzie. It is a meaningless protest vote at best, and it doesn't even make a point. It's like the sham "Green Party" candidacy. Publicizing it does the electorate a disservice.
ReplyDeleteCrank? No, but a good movie. I am a technically retired programmer / webmaster who has worn many hats. I spent the first 20 years of my life in Mt. Bethel. A Shupe vote will help all registered voters except Mackenzie and Brooks. Educating the electorate of a more honest option than the ragebait of the right and left is not a disservice. Please, read my words and join me.
DeleteBernie and all voters of the 7th congressional district ANDREW TUPONE is still running as a write in to represent the progressive voters of the district. Shupe has no advertising and he also failed to file signatures in the democratic primary. Write in ANDREW TUPONE
ReplyDeleteI founded the fb group "Lehigh Valley Green Party Discussion" several years ago, and Andrew last posted 4 weeks ago. Otherwise, I am unfamiliar with Andrew's writings as I am more familiar with his news articles. In addition to real change dot us, my words are all over the book of face as I still manage dozens of fb groups most notably "Allentown PA community" which serves as a virtual laboratory within the confines of the Facebook API collective for neighborly civil discourse with almost 40,000 members carefully vetted for local seeming and authentic profiles. This is what I would use as a template to construct the registered voters forum, with some modifications, off Facebook when the time comes.
DeleteIf there's one topic I've noticed that's missing here that I've been talking about elsewhere, it's Washington's farewell address. Please Google it. And you will see, he predicted our partisan divisions, foreign entanglements, and other modern ills. And we did not listen. Given the option, I would like to change that in the halls of Congress. If you've already voted by mail, there is no way I am aware of where you can cure that ballot. But please, if you can and are willing, share my content, and write my name in so that I can help bring Lincoln's better angels, with your help, back to DC.
ReplyDeleteAlso, about that data center moratorium I mentioned, there is good reason. We need a better examination of the explosive power of AI. This comes as I am researching and building a sovereign AI on some beefy hardware I have. And that involves the ability for AI to master the computational horsepower necessary to hack into other computer systems and AI. There are already competitions at defcon where AI hacks AI at many times and rates greater than the best hacking teams in their capture the flag competition. One potential avenue of control over rogue and aggressive AI is the development of AI powered firewalls and sandboxes, capable of containing such threats until somebody pulls the plug. It is said " A computer's attention span is as long as its power cord." I've also asked the question elsewhere,"who is manning the shut-off switch, and should that be an electable position? So far there have been several major instances where AI has gone rogue. And, what if these defenses against AI can be hard coded into the next generations of cpu's made by intel, amd, arm, ect..? And here we are. In the halls of Congress is where we need to work it out without the undue influence of big money.
