Shapiro Is Running For President

I've always loved Katie Couric. She reminds me of former NorCo Council member Peg Ferarro. Both are very gracious. Both know a lot more than they pretend to know. I've always enjoyed the way Couric interviews people. She's very disarming but manages to ask very tough questions disguised as softballs.

Earlier this week, she interviewed Pa. Governor Josh Shapiro. His tell that he's running for President is that he has just published a book about himself, I haven't read it but doubt very much that it is "the short and simple annals of the poor" that Abraham mentioned when asked about his life. Shapiro is a career politician.

During the course of the interview, Katie suggested that he might have been annoyed at being called overconfident about being selected as VP, even to the point of "measuring the drapes" before a decision had been made. "That would bug the shot out of me," she said, making it seem like she was on his side while getting a response on whether he really is overconfident.

Then after telling him how popular he is in Pennsylvania, she added, "I guess some of your fellow Democrats in the state have not been that flattering when they talk about you. One state official said, you don't want to turn your back on him. Loyalty is not his strong suit. Now I need to add to that, this individual still insisted that you'd be a great president. But I wanted to give you a chance to respond. Why do you think some of your fellow Democrats apparently have some ambivalence about you? Do you think at times your ambition gets the better of you? Because that has been suggested."

Very nicely, she hit him with some very tough questions to which he had no real answer.

I like Shapiro. He's a vast improvement over Wolf. I doubt very much that he'll be the Dem nominee.

  1. Shapiro is an insipid coward. Will he debate, or hide like a sniveling baby like he did last time? Fetterman has balls. Shapiro has none.

  2. Be fair. Spotlight PA and The Inky, and NYT have the real story re: the Mike Vereb sexual harassment settlement, the handling of the Ellen Greenberg "suicide" by 20 stab wounds, including 10 in the back, the lack of transparency about security updates to his PRIVATE home, his calling anti-Israel campus protesters "KKK," his hiding records re: law firm hires to defend against ethical probes, unexplained delays in signing a state budget .... Kamala supposedly rejected him for being Jewish. The truth is that he has a pile of ethical problems and can't seem to tell the truth.

    1. Because the hardcore liberals in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Allentown would quickly choose him regardless of his many faults and liabilities, Shapiro WOULD win Pennsylvania.

    3. Josh certainly seems to have a lot of baggage. The Greenberg case is particularly appalling. He really seems quite unethical.

  3. The fact that he would endorse an unqualified candidate like Bob “Crooksy” Brooks over Susan Wild’s handpicked STEM candidate COB tells you everything you need to know. Shapiro and Wild are close, but his ambition to be President supersedes that relationship. Wild can’t help him get the Firefighters endorsement for President, but Bob “Crooksy” Brooks can.

  5. He's an arrogant phony- his endorsement of the crook Brooks tells you everything you need to know. He, like Zrinski, have been lucky running against terrible candidates. HE tries to be cool /w his white sneakers, but he's a lightweight- his appearance on the View was a joke.

  6. Shapiro’s high water mark at the Federal level would be, at best, VP. Perhaps just a member of the Cabinet. I do not think he’s all that appealing across enough states. Most likely, this would just be an effort to build a huge campaign war chest.

  7. Why do people refer to Brooks as Crooksy ? Isn’t he a nice guy ? I hear he was a fun bartender !

    1. The Greenberg case is heating up !!That travesty of justice is finally getting the attention it deserves. The corruption was outrageous and I hope everyone involved goes down. That bothers me the most among all of his other "issues". He really does appear to be quite unethical.

  9. He'll never get his own party's nomination, let alone win the presidency. He's also running a distant third for the VP nomination behind Whitmer and Ocasio-Cortez. Kalshi odds for Democratic Party POTUS nominee:

    Newsom 33%
    Ocasio-Cortez 10%
    Harris 8%
    Shapiro 7%
    Kelly 6%
    Ossoff 6%

  12. Shapiro may have a shot in the primary. He's young and smart, from a key toss-up state and he's fairly moderate compared to many of the far left candidates that would be running from CA, NJ or NY. Not sure if his Jewish ethnicity would be a negative from some voters. It's unfortunate but anti-Semitism seems to be on the rise.

  13. Shapiro will not comment on Boys in girl sports and the locker room Why?

  14. Nothing about Shapiro would shock me, since he was elected AG w/o ever being in a Courtroom, beat a terrible candidate in Mastriano, and walks around w/ his nose in the air. He's a lightweight!

  15. This phony is following the script: write a lousy book, appear on the View= a run for President.

  16. Shapiro's a lightweight- his recent criticism of JD Vance's post commemorating the Holocaust backfired. He should stay in his lane and worry about Pa. But the media attention has turned him into another Zrinski.

  17. Shapiro says Waltz is a good man You want him as President?

  18. Shapiro would be a horrible president. His desire to make Pennsylvania the data capital of America is going to have long-term negative consequences on both the environment and citizens (financial and health).
