Trump's Narcissistic Response to Reiner Murders

When Charlie Kirk, a conservative influencer with some relatively extreme views was assassinated, it was a cause for celebration among many of those who detested his politics. Among them was NorCo Council member Kelly Keegan, who is also a school nurse. Many people on both sides of the political divide were outraged at her utter insensitivity to the murder of another human being and were right to be appalled. Rob Reiner was a hardcore liberal, even by Hollywood standards, but the producer of "The Princess Bride" refused to follow the lead of those who danced on Kirk's grave. He instead reacted with empathy and compassion. He told Piers Morgan that his reaction was one of "absolute horror. It's beyond belief what happened to him. That should never happen to anybody. I don't care what your political beliefs are. That's not acceptable."

Reiner himself, along with his wife, were murdered on Sunday. One of their sons, who suffered from substance abuse, has been arrested. Here's how President Donald Trump responded.

In Trump's twisted and narcissistic mind, the murder was apparently justified because Reiner was critical of him. Just as I consider Kelly Keegan an ugly person for her total lack of empathy, the same has to be said of Trump. But while Keegan is just one of none members of a county governing body, Trump is the supposed to be our President. I am ashamed of and disgusted by him.

  2. I voted for Trump 3 times. His response to this murder was undignified.

  3. I sure don't read within that message any statement or conclusion by Trump that Reiner's murder was justified. You, and many others do, but you've been known to read things into lots of Trump related actions.

Not to worry, Trump is not running for re-election. He's not asking for my vote, not yours, nor a vote from anyone else.

  10. Maybe all you Kirk and Trump supporters should read the room! Did you read the election results?!?!? Racism, bigotry, and racism aren't popular. You all had your day with it!

  11. He is shameful and disgusting. His comments are warped, twisted, and narcissistic. He finds a way for everything and anything to be about him. He and his comments are indefensible but you will be excoriated by his acolytes who will, in true knee-JERK fashion, say : "Yeah, but what about Charlie Kirk."

  14. Trump is regularly called a Nazi, Hitler, a fascist , a racist, a white supremacist, a bigot, a dehumanizer, an inciter of violence, an anti semite and the list of labels goes on and on. Much of the name calling originates in Hollywood and the media. If you accept any of those definitions of our leader, the vile response on Reiner’s death should be anything but surprising. On the other hand, maybe Trump is showing another side, tired of the labels and choosing to fight back in a most disgusting way. Either way, no one should be shocked. Imagine some one simply labeling you a cheat and a liar. Would you turn the other cheek? Trump missed the basics of Christianity: Forgiveness is not in his soul. But, it’s not in many of our souls. Trump manages to bring out the hate in everyone. Whether you like him or not, hate will get you nowhere.

This country missed a great opportunity to elect the first black, East Asian, woman president.
What a tragedy that over half of the voters are misogynistic, racist, neo-fascists .
      This was a global catastrophe.

  18. I’d punish a child who acted like Trump. He’s an old dottering man whose life is void of any humanism. His affections are by contract but his hate comes for free. I feel sorry for parents who have to explain why the president isn’t a model for behavior.

  22. Everyone could learn something from the interview of James Woods last night- although he & Reiner differed politically, they loved & respected each other.

  23. Pathetic individuals here, who actually attempt to defend Trump on this. Plain and simple his written response to another human beings murder is flat out wrong. There is no need or point in defending his response and if you can't understand why it is wrong or admit it, your own damnation awaits.

  24. Trumps a narcissist, most politicians are. He takes it to another level though lol. No post on Shapiro endorsing Brooks over your boy? No post on the hypocrite AOC dropping 50k on 5 star hotels and Michelin rated restaurants in Puerto Rico. Idiots who can least afford send these asshole politicians money and they live like kings.

  25. That Trump is held in high regard by many "Christians" illustrates how lost we are as a country. I always thought it hypocritical to shake hands in the church pew and shake fists in the parking lot traffic, but the idolization of Trump and ignoring his inhumanity is truly mind blowing. 2nd Corinthians 11:14 "And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light"

  27. I suppose no one recalls what Reiner spewed about Limbaugh when he passed and let's not mention vile hatred he spewed about Trump every time he opened his pie hole... all in all, the President was quite lame in his statement... I'll give him a big fat PASS on this one.

  30. Dump made it crystal clear early in his first term he has no interest in being "presidential", when he sarcastically and robotically swung his arms and made fun of the concept. It has also long been apparent he is vile, and full of hatred. So I can't be disappointed at this latest example - I gave up years ago thinking of him as my president. He doesn't represent anything to me but a threat to my security, physical and financial.

    1. 9:39am- after That opioid blowhard passed away, Reiner said that Limbaugh was a "Liar" and followed it up with, "To protect our Democracy, we must remain vigilant in calling out their big lies. Starting with climate change.”

That's a far cry from Trump's statement. Nice deflection, though.
