Kelly Keegan's Tik Tok From Forks Community Days

There were Democratic and Republican tents at Forks Community Days on September 13-15. Northampton County Council member Kelly Keegan, a former Forks Tp Supervisor, was in the Democratic tent. With the assistance of copious amounts of booze, both managed to make fools out of themselves by fighting with each other. Some community.

I first learned of the ruckus from an anonymous comment posted on this blog:

I volunteered at the Forks Township Democrat tent this past weekend and the amount of Republicans coming up to us being abusive, aggressive, and instigating was obnoxious. The police had to intervene so often that they just stayed next to our tent protecting us. A man in his 80’s acted like he didn’t know who he would vote for and then proceeded to say he didn’t know if he could vote for a slut. He probably is impotent and just frustrated. Who knows, but grow up dude. Trump’s sexual history has caused him to be a felon and a rapist! Maybe you should consider that when you vote.

So many people who came up to our tent wanted to take bumper stickers and signs, but were scared they would be targeted and that their cars and homes would be vandalized. The Republican Party is nothing more than thugs. Remember when they were conservative with class? Now they are conspiracy spreading liars who actually believe it all. It truly is a cult.

The Republicans have no platform except aggression, intimidation, and “concepts”. I can’t wait for Kamala to win and we finally kick Trump to the curb. Let’s get back to being classy and stop acting like we are a third world country.

Someone anonymously responded with this:

I was nearby the Democratic tent and the constant snarky remarks were not so pretty either. Think some people need to drink less beer, pay more attention to their dress and personal hygiene before they represent a political party. Ever hear of the concept of presenting a party platform? It is possible to disagree and not be disagreeable. Somehow the Democratic tent was missing some of that "class" you were talking about. If a Republican had said what you just said about your experience working at the Democratic tent I would have said the same to them. I am not sure either side added to the event.

A police report has been requested, but since nobody was cited, I suspect alcohol, combined with partisanship and immaturity, are the real culprits.

Some say Keegan allegedly knocked the MAGA hat off someone's head and threw beer at him. But others say a beer was tossed in Keegan's face.

All I can say is that her narcissistic and sarcastic TikTok (see above) about the incident tells me that she may very well have done exactly what she denies.

Keegan has managed to take the "demure" and "mindful" trend on TikTok, which is supposed to be funny, into something toxic.

  1. She doesn’t quite have the Jool LeBrun style down pat, but I like that she has a sense of humor. You wouldn’t know it from the meetings.

    1. I wouldn't know it from her Tik Toks either. There's very little humor, mostly sarcasm, narcissism, elitism and a tendency to preach.

  2. Both sides are cults, now. Do you realize that, short of the booze, you're just like one of those cults? Probably not. That's how cults work.

    1. Historically, I vote for almost as many Rs as Ds. I criticize my party for its elitism (displayed by Keegan locally) and Trump for his fascism.

      Delete
    2. Yes, Trump is the fascist because Trump is the one trying to restrain free speech, criminalize differences in political opinions and put his political opponents in jail.

      Delete
    3. Correct. Trump is attempting to limit free speech and jail his political opponents and start more wars, right? You would never limit discourse and support more wars or autograph PA-made bombs at a defense contractor.

    4. Yup...all fascists have almost 100% of the corporate and state funded media constantly berating them.

  4. She certainly seems a tad soused in that video. I hope she didn't drive home that day. Yet, one would think that a public official, whose professional job is a nurse at Easton High School, would be prudent enough not to share such on social media.

  5. Bernie, a friend who worked the Dem tent and is not prone to hyperbole, poor hygiene or drinking couldn’t wait to tell me about the frightening experience she had at Forks Days. She said one Republican threw beer on Kelly and other Republicans pushed the literature on their table to the ground. She was completely spooked by their aggression. She said only a Republican threw beer, no Dems. Unfortunately, Kelly Keegan’s TikTok video is ridiculous and clownish. Perhaps she should have waited until she collected her thoughts before putting this video out in an attempt to what - gain sympathy? Not sure what her goal was but I don’t think she helped her future re-election efforts or explained the seriousness of the right’s antics.

    1. The problem is that both Rs and Ds have contradictory accounts of what occurred. I tend to believe that someone did throw beer at Kelly but I also suspect she was instigating them. They probably both were doing that.

  6. Kelly Keegs is the new fresh face we needed, a rising rock star in the mold of Tara Z who can harness new technologies like the TikTok to capture the hearts and minds of young voters. Keeps will slay more boomers (metaphorically) than covid and heart disease combined!

  7. There are bad people no matter who they vote for. Add alcohol and it's worse. Can't put up yard signs as people vandalize. Afraid to say your point of view as a republican today for fear of retaliation. It's not one party. Their are bad people in all parties. Tired of hearing only one side in the press

  8. The police had to intervene

Can any democrat explain why they let the police intervene and not a social worker? Also, The party that votes to defund the police and take guns away was protected by a person with a gun.

    1. No party has voted to “defund” the police.
Only one party has made physical attacks on police part of its strategy.

    2. UHHHH I can certainly tell you no republicans are on the Oakland city council. For the record after doing this they found out it was a bad idea. I expect a full retraction and Bernie should mark your comment as mis/dis information. CBS news to the rescue and this took me 90 seconds to prove you wrong.

    3. Then like good democrats they realized defund the police was a slogan that was hurting them. Then it became “reimagine the police”.
Just like a terrorist became extremist.
The war on terror became overseas contingency operation.
      Pedophile became minor attracted person.
A state parolee is now referred to as a “reentrant”. There is no such word.
      These people are crazy!

  9. If national security concerns aren’t enough to shut down Tik Tok, Keegan’s postings alone merit its closure. 🙂

  10. I see this mentality more and more as I age out of relevance. The world has sped up with social media and everyone wants to be the first to get out their message and attack. Social media has encouraged people to swing for a knockout every time. Time is a tool that allows us to calm down, think about the issue and develop a message. Kelly is doing what she knows, seat of the pants diplomacy, instant gratification.

  11. A truly wonderful example for the profession of nursing and for impressionable high school students (this is Kelly type sarcasm, of course). People actually voted for her for council and allow her to be around their kids? I wouldn’t do either one.

  12. I'm posting this under my real name because I'm willing to stand behind what I'll say here. I volunteered at the Democratic booth for a while, and here's what I observed.

1.) The people working at the Republican booth were fine. As far as I could tell, they didn't instigate anything. A couple of them came over to our booth at various times, and we had 100% pleasant, friendly exchanges with one another.
2.) The people volunteering at the Democratic booth didn't wander around harassing anyone. We mostly stuck to the booth, except when we were getting food for ourselves at other booths. One of the volunteers split his time volunteering at several other booths as well; another volunteer's husband was volunteering at the beer tent.
3.) Almost all of the interactions we had at the Democratic booth were great. People were friendly, most of the people that came up to us wanted to engage with us. Many were there to get Harris/Walz signs or stickers or posters. Some people wanted to get candidate literature so they could be more informed voters about their options in November. Many were Democrats, some were independents, and some were even Republicans who had honest and sincere questions that we tried to address.
4.) The issue that cropped up was with a handful of people who came up to our booth looking to cause trouble. They were mad that we were there, mad that we had different opinions than them. They were also mostly completely drunk.
5.) On Saturday, two incidents occurred right around the same time. A man came up to the booth and started yelling at one of the men volunteering that no real man would vote for a woman. While he was doing that, a very drunk woman came up and started yelling at the other people there. She swept her arm across the booth, knocking everything off and destroying some of our stuff; she then threw her beer in our faces. This was the point at which the police intervened. No arrests were made, but they did talk to the woman for quite a while, then escorted her away. I spoke with one officer, and he told me he'd be nearby in case any more issues cropped up.
6.) A bit later in the evening, another drunk individual came up. He started asking questions as bait, at first calmly and politely. But when the volunteers at the booth didn't take his bait, he got more and more annoyed, eventually yelling and getting his hands very close to the face of one of the women volunteering at the booth. We weren't taking any chances at this point, so someone asked the officer to return, which he did, and the drunk man left.

The Forks Township Police were fantastic. They were respectful and professional. I'm sure they're used to dealing with drunk and disorderlies, but they did a great job trying to keep things peaceful. I spoke at length with one officer, Jack, who was a gentleman. He told me his role is to be neutral and to try to keep things from escalating. I told him I appreciated what he was doing, and that my own father served as a police officer for decades.

The bottom line is this. if you aren't interested in what the local Democrats have to say, there's a simple solution: don't go up to their booth at a festival. Drunken people wanting to start trouble usually manage to succeed.

    4. Sorry, Mr. Anonymous, but as I said, I'm the son of a cop. I've been on numerous police ride-alongs. And as a member of Borough Council, I've voted to support our police officers and to approve good raises for them. If you want to troll me, you're going to need to do a lot better than that.

  13. I was there and Kelly never went near the Republican tent. The only people she spoke to were the people who came to our tent. She was rather reserved compared to past events at Forks Days. As for the Tik Toks I think they are just poking fun at Republicans and pointing out the hypocrisy. Anyone who takes the videos seriously is too old to get the humor in it. Lighten up you bunch of wound too tight boomers.

  14. I find it difficult (but not improbable) to believe that someone threw a beer on/at Keegan and no citation was issued. At minimum, a disorderly conduct charge should have been issued.

Keep digging Bernie. There's either a lot more to this story or, most likely, a lot less.

    1. Like Bernie speculated, she may have instigated it. Given her scorn and derision (on FBook during covid) towards parents who believed children should be in school full-time, being an instigator fits that persona.

  18. I would like to see more suburban Democrats lobby for diversity, low income rental housing and more social services (i.e. homeless shelters etc.) in their Townships. I could at least respect them and not view them as elitist hypocrites. What could a Democrat living in Forks Township possibly stand for??? Its mostly made up of wealthy white people (predominantly originated from NJ/NY - i.e. escaping the ills created in Democratic strongholds) living in tract subdivisions that exclude the poor.

  21. I am truly tired of all this crap. Seriously tired. What have we become as a nation? Where is the civility towards, and tolerance of, people? When did it become acceptable to yell at people, physically intimidate others, and flip off people who may not be driving as fast as you want? This type of boorish behavior is relatively new, but predates Trump and his ilk. Will it take another war or tragedy on the scale of 9/11 to make people grow up and show respect toward others? Throwing a beer at anyone — whether or not embroiled in a tit-for-tat — is WRONG. I don’t know this woman, but there is no justification for treating anyone in such a way.
