NorCo Judge Race: Panella and Aaroe To Face Each Other in the General

Two candidates are running to replace Steve Baratta as a Northampton County judge. Brain Panella, a Democrat, and Nancy Aaroe, a Republican, cross-filed. As might be expected, each candidate won the nomination of his and her party.

Panella won the Democratic nod with 1,098 votes to 9,960 cast for Aaroe. He got 57% of the Democratic vote.

Aaroe captured the Republican nomination  by more than 2 to 1 over Panella. She received 10,932 votes to just 4,223 for Panella. That's a 72% landslide on the Republican side.

  1. Aaroe got 3000 more votes than Panella. Her one mailer highlighting her experience and all the boxes checked compared to Panella was very effective IMO.

  2. From Bernie on May 3, 2023:

"It appears that Aaroe has no real plans at securing the Democratic nomination. She has sent out no mailers to Democrats, and appears to be focused solely on the Republican nod. Panella, in contrast, is appealing to both sides. His mailers have gone equally to both parties."

LOL. You're so bad at this.

  3. 7:01, In case you haven't noticed, she lost the Dem nomination and focused solely on Rs. Mavbe she could have won both sides had she made real plans to do so.

  4. This is a massive win for Aaroe. She was out spent 2 to 1 and was this effective on both sides. She has the message that wins in Northampton County. Panella got beat pretty bad here. She will probably take it in November.

  5. Great job by Nancy Aaroe and her team. They are truthful, genuine and organized. Panella’s lack of experience is a huge factor. Nancy is running on her own experience and recognition as a seasoned, well respected attorney. Brian is running on Dad’s credentials and name. The choice is easy folks. Vote Nancy Aaroe for Northampton County judge!

  7. Panella sat at one poll at day yesterday. Lost the republican vote at this precinct and looks like Nancy only lost the dems by 1 vote there. Clearly his message and personage is not resonating.
