Mississippi news anchor Barbie Bassett, in banter about Snoop Dog on March 8, blurted out, "Fo shizzle, my nizzle." That's the last time she appeared on air, and her name has been removed from the station's website.
This expression is commonly thought to mean, "For sure, my friend," but some interpret it to mean, "For sure, my n----r." She's white. Apparently only a nizzle can call someone a nizzle.
This anchor was in hot water once before for referring to a black guest's grandmother as her "grandmammy."
Perhaps I'm woefully out of touch, but I'm doubt even Snoop knows what he's saying half the time. I would not interpret either of her remarks as racially offensive or passive aggressive except for someone looking for a reason to complain.
Chuck Lorre said it best:

"You cannot have my language.
It is my right to describe the world as I see it, using words of my choosing.
If those words offend you, too bad.
Be offended.
Or just simply ignore me.
My feelings will not be hurt.
Your feelings, on the other hand, are as fragile as a snot bubble leaking from a stupid child’s nose."
Well, that's your side of the aisle- far left loons. 🤪😆
ReplyDeleteAll people on left aren’t this stupid just as all people on right aren’t trump desantis disciples

ReplyDeleteThis post is racist! Yeah, that's it. Racist!
Let's review for those late to class: Crackers may never use nizzle. Crackers may never use cracker. Nizzles may use nizzle. Nizzles may use cracker. Obama was half cracker and half nizzle, but identified as a nizzle, thereby giving permission to use cracker and nizzle. But he still didn't; thus, betraying cracker privilege. Thank you for this thought provoking post.
ReplyDeleteTotally unrelated, but the police and swat teams are at the fountain Hill borough managers home right now with guns drawn… Something is happening
ReplyDeleteUpdate on fountain Hill borough manager… He was handcuffed and taken away by the ambulance. I would imagine he was probably suicidal with all the charges he’s facing.
ReplyDeletePass me the fentanyl lased blunt please i need to think about this one some more?
ReplyDeleteI have never heard that snoop lyric or would know what it meant. Before getting to the point, I honestly thought it meant "nose". We all have them. Maybe this person thought it would be cute to quote snoop lyrics without knowing what was implied. I honestly did not know. If this phrase is worthy a person losing their job than such trash lyrics should not be mainstream. A different perspective should call for Snoops contract and royalties to be cancelled for using sexist remarks in reference to frontal anatomy. I suppose this is less about lyrics and more about interpretation and who says it. Maybe this person knew what was impled. Respectfully, I would not have known. Surly a tough lesson to learn.
ReplyDeleteOh Bernie, the reason why you don’t understand Snoop is because he doesn’t make music for you, he’s not talking to YOU.
ReplyDeleteYou’re a privileged white guy that is convinced he can center himself into any conversation and use AAVE to seem to appear cool.
It’s not your language to decipher or to critique and it belongs ONLY to black people.
Stay in your lane and stop worrying about matters that don’t pertain to you.
710. Why then is snoopy using such filthy language?
