Biden On His Rope-a-Dope During SOTU

President Joe Biden is often portrayed by the right as a hopelessly demented old man who never should have been trusted to lead this nation. His speech impediment tends to add weight to that criticism, and even I'll agree he's lost a step or  two from what he was. I think even he'll admit that much. So I was floored when, during his SOTU, he managed to make fools out of the MAGAs interrupting him and calling him a liar. With some justification, he took a bow about his rope-a-dope in a speech on Monday.

"I've been around for a lot of SOTUs. I never saw one where the President got to negotiate in the open with everybody. I was pleased to see so many Republicans stand up. Remember when Marjorie Taylor Greene was yelling, 'Liar! Liar! Joe Biden's a liar!', he reminded everyone, and then noted that all Republicans stood up when he asked them to protect seniors. Laughing, he noted they're all on camera. "Like I said, I believe in conversion," he joked.

I never saw a Democratic President poke such good-natured fun at Republicans since FDR.  There was no hate, just humor, and from a man they dismissed as incompetent.

What does that say about them?

  1. They called him a liar because he is a damned liar. All Democrats are liars and cheaters. They actually can't help it; its in their political DNA.

  4. You're so right. It's difficult to understand why poll after poll indicate majorities of respondents think he's senile and unstable. He's a masterful and commanding speaker and debater. He's spry and agile and appears super healthy. Why do so many think he's out to lunch and over the hill? What are so many seeing that we're missing?

  6. This man couldn't organize a two car parade. you are giving him too much credit. If he is such a skilled politician why does 71% of the country think we are on the wrong track? Why is his handling of the economy have a 33% approval?

  10. Gotta' love all these comments clamming Biden. I'll agree that, like Tom Brady, he's no longer at the top of his game. But the person MAGAs describe as demented had no trouble making fools out of them during his SOTU. Loved it. And these comments just make his case evenmore.

  11. Your hero Clueless Joe is about as sharp as a soggy crayon. As senile as he is, you praise him for being able to read a teleprompter and occasionally blurting out "get off my lawn" quips. Trump hated the "fake media" but at least held open press conferences and lengthy gaggles before boarding Marine One. Uncle Joe runs away from the press, even though they are his minions. Despite his evolving dementia he realizes that he is a gaffe machine who can never go off script without consequences . Biden is unfit for office. But he's your Democrat man crush Bernie. Keep wearing those rose colored glasses.

  12. Rs should be thankful for dopey Biden. Dems could have nominated a a far worse, better box-checker: black, Hispanic, female, LGBTQRSTUVexpialidocious. Anyone would have beaten Trump. Weekend-At-Bernie's Fetterman would beat Trump today. I think it says something about the electorate that's not very inspiring. But then again, neither are any of the candidates from either sad party.

No troll here. I just use facts, data, numbers that shows per Americans he is doing a terrible job. And notice I always use left leaning data to prove my point. So are you saying you are in the 20th percentile that says the country is going in the right direction? Or the 30th percentile that thinks the economy is great. Thought I would have a better chance of finding bigfoot than a person that would be in those categories.

  14. Joe snickers because a mother who lost two sons to fentanyl poisoning and who is mad at him should know that it happened under Trump and he’s not responsible. His creepy stories about the Walter Reed Nurse who did things to him that they don’t teach in nursing school is not only nauseating but the sure sign of a demented person with no sense of what is “politically correct “ or even correct to relate at all, especially to the public as the US President. Where’s that 25th amendment?

  15. Hey, the guy won and gets all the credit. It's truly weird, however, seeing Ds as the party controlled by big pharma, the financial industry, and military contractors. They really have completely taken the reins from Rs. And you are here to defend what Ds used to rail against. Mask up and take another shot and support war in Ukraine. Again, truly weird. If you died before 2019 and were reanimated, you'd swear Rs were the party supporting those things.

  16. Anonymous said... No troll here. I just use facts...
None of those categories. Just saying there are worse alternatives to Joe Biden. Hopefully we will have better choices in the future. So far I'm not seeing them. Trashing talking doesn't solve a thing. It's simply not constructive to do so.

  17. It is unbelievable people would still vote for Biden--everything he does is bad for the country, yet we have a lot of really stupid people in this country. we deserve everything we get from Biden, his wok cabinet, and the fake media, which includes you Bernie.

  18. I thought he sounded like Trump. America first. I’m going to bring manufacturing back from China blah blah blah. So how did the manufacturing all end up in China to begin with? Joe Biden that’s how. People forget he was in the senate for 150 years and voted for all that shit.

Who is trash talking? I gave you left leaning with data, numbers, facts that says the economy stinks and our country is going in the wrong direction. I feel it's constructive to have debate and throw these data points on the table.

  20. I agree with 8:17 AM. More Americans need to pay closer attention to where our once great nation is being taken. Hiding significant flaws and negative data provides no help to correcting the direction we’re heading. This is no longer about being a loyal Democrat, or a loyal Republican. Our political parties are two wings of the SAME bird! They’re moving away from “common” citizens and into the grasp of corporate control for self preservation in office.

  21. Regrettably there is a Democrat voting bloc which thoughtlessly continues to help elect incompetent people to the highest offices in our country and in Blue states and cities.
