RIP Ed Redding and Ladd Siftar

I completely missed two recent deaths among those who were involved in Northampton County government.

Ed Redding passed away on November 22, 2022. He was Northampton County Solicitor.

Ladd Siftar died January 29. He served four terms on Northampton County Council.

  1. Ed Redding was a good man who would give you the shirt off his back-and did for many people. Peace Ed-you are missed.

  2. I am sorry to hear of both Ed and Ladd's passing. Ed was a proud fellow Becahi grad and charming bon vivant. I knew Ladd best from 1984 onward and co-chaired his 1989 campaign for County Executive. He was always informed, smart, and curious about how to make public policy better. He enjoyed the minutia of government. Ladd and the late Honorable Bill Moran were 2 of the smartest leaders regarding the Northampton County Home Rule Charter(Bill actually wrote it for Gene Hartzell). Ladd was an enjoyable soul may God bless him until we meet again....

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
