Kelly Keegan Makes It Official - She's Running Against Myers

Kelly Keegan, a Forks Tp Supervisor, has made it official. In a statement sent to me yesterday, she announced she's running for the District 2 (Easton area) NorCo Council seat currently held by Kerry Myers. Her agenda? Keeping taxes down, Gracedale open and acquiring farmland and open space.

Keegan, whose term as a Supervisor is set to expire in 2026, chairs the Forks Tp Open Space Task Force. She claims she will "will always put our children, seniors and the preservation of the environment first."

She is employed at Easton Area School District as a nurse, which makes her acutely aware of the struggles many people in her district face.

Someone in the Kerry Myers camp has already played the race card. "Democrats going after the only African American on council. Dem's being Dem's, real nice."

Myers' problems have nothing to do with his race. He regularly uses profanity at County Council meetings. During a meeting last year, he actually argued that Deputy Sheriffs should ignore direct orders from the Sheriff when he directed them to take no action to a raucous demonstration outside the courthouse after the last Presidential election. "I think my life would be in danger," he ridiculously asserted.

He also felt that a proposed Elections Comm'r who worked for a Congress person seeking re-election should be appointed despite an obvious conflict of interest. That's because the nominee happened to be black. Myers felt that race trumps a conflict of interest. Council eventually approved another black nominee who had no conflict.

  1. If Dave Culver runs, he will beat either Myers or McClure's rubberstamp Keegan. This seat is up for grabs.

  2. You are an admitted racist and your attacks on the only black member of council are violence. Stop inciting hatred.

  3. "If Dave Culver runs,"

He would be very formidable and could change the balance of power.

  4. This has nothing to do with race. Mr Myers has behaved poorly on more than one occasion. Race should not come into play here and it’s time people speak out when race is used to cover up bad behavior and poor performance. Exhibit A is the ridiculous post by 6:55AM.

  6. All I know is as a Proud NORCO Dem member I am supporting Kelly Keegan for District 2 Commissioner. This year will be an embarrassment for the entire Democratic party and may even sway the race to a Republican Majority

  7. Be careful with the "open space" initiative being pushed. It sounds like the perfect program, but by preserving open space, you open the door for sludge waste spreading from both local or even big city sewage treatment plants, backed by state law. EPA has admitted publically that it does not test these 'fertilizers' for all the chemicals that impact the environment, not to mention the odor to down-wind properties and parks.

Your tax dollars at work, which ends up driving DOWN your property value when it happens. Government at its finest. Maybe Keegan can solve this dilemma.

  8. So ....... open space keeps out riff-raff, but doesn't keep out riff-raff shit. I think riff-raff is getting the last laugh here.

  9. 12:12. You have got to be kidding, you want to turn the fields into to housing developments?

  10. 8:38, are you the Easton Dems or the McClure party? Keegan is another handpicked McClure candidate. I will vote for Myers and real opinions and diversity.

  12. No idea who Keegan is but if she is running on open space, and is in charge in forks township she is failing bad. Already one warehouse and the surveyors are getting ready to dig into the few farmland left, if she cannot conntrol a township no way she can lead an entire county. In fairness there is not much anybody can do if the owners refuse to put into land preservation and want to sell. But the few farmland left in forks is fading fast,

  13. So, the Keegan person just started as a township supervisor and now wants to jump that ship and get on the county council. Sounds like she is taking lessons from Zirinski who is always running for a new position. Pick a lane.

  14. Worth noting that Keegan's husband is an EASD board director.

  15. at2:04, Given Mr. Myers connection to the EASD Board this candidacy may be a case of personal animosity towards him.
