Feds Prosecuted 96% of Criminal Referrals for Immigration in FY 2022

I'll admit that, when it comes to immigration, it's hard for me to understand what's going on.  If I lived on a border state, I might be better informed. As things stand, I read diametrically opposing points of view in the news accounts coming from major news sources. But I can tell you that, according to an analysis by nonprofit Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC), federal prosecution of criminal referrals for immigration crime was 96% in FY 2022.

Interestingly, prosecution of corporate crime is at its lowest level since record keeping began in the Reagan administration.

  1. does this mean you can't migrate from Easton and Bethlehem and go to Allentown. It's just a matter of sneaking up the Lehigh River. How about riding the bike trail along the canal? Do you think they'll be patrolling that also? If you come down the River Mayor Panto will bus the immigrants back to Allentown.
    Seriously, I never knew the immigration prosecution was that high. Are you sure of those numbers Bernie?

  2. So we shouldn't believe our lying eyes about record numbers of illegals streaming across the southern border? OK.

    There's no money to patrol the border (the source of our fentanyl slaughter) OR put corporate crooks (party donors) in jail because we just spent $100 billion to foment war in neo-nazi Ukraine. And we're about to spend even more because nothing in our economy works without a war to be funded. And guys like you cheer for it. Where's Cindy Sheehan when we need her?

    1. Where do I start with this paragraph? I mean you’ve literally regurgitated every single FOX news talking point to the letter, and you say it so confidently, like it’s true. The only Nazis you should be talking about are the insurrectionist that stormed the Capitol and wish to turn this country into a fascist regime.

      Clean your own mess in his country, before you dive into international politics you seem to know little about.

    2. No one in this country is an “illegal”, especially Mexicans considering all of Texas was once owned by Mexico and YOUR ancestors swindled them out of the land and stole it. For every undocumented citizen we happily receive from Mexico, we should export a Nazi terrorist like yourself. Let’s see you talk that racist shit to cartel members without your AR15…

  3. Biden should be impeached for his so-called border policy.

  4. What does this mean? Does this bureaucratic mumble jumble mean that they prosecute immigrants when they commit a crime once they are in the United States? It certainly doesn't mean they prosecute immigrants for illegally crossing the border and coming into the United States. Can you clarify this somewhat? In the mean time, if I find out what it means I will post it here.

  5. It’s not a coincidence that the current GOP wants to cripple or abolish the IRS. Billionaires do not want to pay their fair share of taxes and they feel that burden should be imposed on the working class.

    A rich privileged prick billionaire thinks that YOU should pay for his tax bill. And you all gleefully vote for that because, “gUnZ…”

  6. I think this is a bit misleading.

    Read this report and tell me if I am misreading it.

    There were only 2,200 or so referrals made in total.

    While 96% is an accurate number for immigration, it in no way represents any significant percentage of immigration offenses being committed.

    Your thoughts?

  7. "Record Numbers" can you back that up in any substantive way?

    "Illegal immigration" has been a problem for decades, that said its not better or worse than its ever been and those that wet their pants over it are just gullible hayseeds who are easily manipulated by select media and right wing talking point distractions.

    Yes its a problem, no its nowhere near the disaster and national emergency its made out to be. Lets see, maybe if we fixed our issues with everyone paying taxes who should be paying taxes, we could fund various parts of our government, who could, you know, patrol the border, and more importanly quickly and efficiently process legal immigration requests to reduce the appeal of "cutting the line" and sneaking over the border.

    If only these America First MAGA types gave more of a shit about traffic safety and highway construction instead of some low level problem like this we'd probably still have Trump as President.

  8. Biden should be impeached for Afghanistan, the border and for putting classified document all over Washington and Delaware and probably more places maybe even China.

  11. I find it laughable that most of you think that Americas biggest threat is the undocumented immigrant when the REAL threat is the white-christian nationalist. They’re the true terrorist.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Exactly. Those white Christian nationalists who overstayed student visas and took flight lessons prior to 9/11 were real threats we didn't take seriously. Oh wait .....

    1. Bet you thought you ate…

      Yeah, no, I’m actually talking about these white nationalists incidents:

      The August 5, 2012, mass shooting at a Sikh gurdwara in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, in which a White supremacist shot and killed 6 members of the gurdwara;

      The April 13, 2014, mass shooting at a Jewish community center and a Jewish assisted living facility in Overland Park, Kansas, in which a neo-Nazi shot and killed 3 civilians, including a 14-year-old teenager;

      The June 8, 2014, ambush in Las Vegas, Nevada, in which 2 supporters of the far-right-wing “patriot” movement shot and killed 2 police officers and a civilian;

      The June 17, 2015, mass shooting at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, in which a White supremacist shot and killed 9 members of the church.

      The November 27, 2015, mass shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in which an anti-abortion extremist shot and killed a police officer and 2 civilians;

      The March 20, 2017, murder of an African-American man in New York City, allegedly committed by a White supremacist who reportedly traveled to New York “for the purpose of killing black men”

      The May 26, 2017, attack in Portland, Oregon, in which a White supremacist allegedly murdered 2 men and injured a third after the men defended 2 young women whom the individual had targeted with anti-Muslim hate speech;

      The August 12, 2017, attack in Charlottesville, Virginia, in which a White supremacist killed one and injured nineteen after driving his car through a crowd of individuals protesting a neo-Nazi rally, and of which former Attorney General Jeff Sessions said, “It does meet the definition of domestic terrorism in our statute.

      The July 2018 murder of an African-American woman from Kansas City, Missouri, allegedly committed by a White supremacist who reportedly bragged about being a member of the Ku Klux Klan;

      The October 24, 2018, shooting in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, in which a White man allegedly murdered 2 African Americans at a grocery store after first attempting to enter a church with a predominantly African-American congregation during a service; and

      The October 27, 2018, mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in which a White nationalist allegedly shot and killed 11 members of the congregation.

      (On March 15, 2019, a White nationalist was arrested and charged with murder after allegedly killing 50 Muslim worshippers and injuring more than 40 in a massacre at the Al Noor Mosque and Linwood Mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand. The alleged shooter posted a hate-filled, xenophobic manifesto that detailed his White nationalist ideology before the massacre. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern labeled the massacre a terrorist attack.

      In January 2017, a right-wing extremist who had expressed anti-Muslim views was charged with murder for allegedly killing 6 people and injuring 19 in a shooting rampage at a mosque in Quebec City, Canada. It was the first-ever mass shooting at a mosque in North America, and Prime Minister Trudeau labeled it a terrorist attack.

      On February 15, 2019, Federal authorities arrested U.S. Coast Guard Lieutenant Christopher Paul Hasson, who was allegedly planning to kill a number of prominent journalists, professors, judges, and “leftists in general”. In court filings, prosecutors described Lieutenant Hasson as a “domestic terrorist” who in an email “identified himself as a White Nationalist for over 30 years and advocated for ‘focused violence’ in order to establish a white homeland.”.

      But there’s not a violent white nationalist problem here, nothing to see…

  13. We do live in a border state Bernie, The top northwest corner of PA abutts Canada at the Great Lakes. Additionally we are within 100miles of the border, therefore federal officials can undertake warrantless searches. Truly ghaslty
