J6 Hearing: Hawley Haulin' Ass

Last night was the 9th of the J6 hearings. Because the Select Committee has uncovered additional evidence, hearings will resume in September. I was amused at the sight of Senator Josh Hawley fleeing from a crowd that he helped incite.

Clark Kent covered the hearing for the Daily Planet

  1. Once again, trumps own people testifying against him. Those that still fly trump flags have a disregard for law and order.

  2. From the original post: "Because the Select Committee has uncovered additional evidence, hearings will resume in September."

Additional evidence? Yeah, they discovered that there's an election in November.

This whole thing is a farce. The committee chairman, Bennie Thompson, once again repeated the lie that some rioters "were killing law enforcement officers". In fact, no law enforcement officers were killed by the rioters.

If the partisan committee can't even be honest about an easily verifiable fact like that, they certainly aren't searching for the truth - just political points.

It's sad that the democrats are this desperate and have nothing else to run on. And to top it off, if the polling on the hearings is correct the hearings are only helping the Republicans in the mid-terms and may well push Trump to victory in 2024.

    1. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

      Your cognitive dissonance is showing.

You’re an idiot if you think republicans are ever going to win anything significant going forward.

They’ve done upset white women with the overturning of Roe v Wade, and we all know that it was the majority of white women who got trump elected the first time around.

Bye bye conservative shit for brains politicians, time to go back and reinvent yourselves…

  3. In September the committee will show that he had actual poop in his pants, while running for safety from the... "patriots".

  4. Yeah. He's really hauling ass there Bernie.

  5. Hawley is representative of many in his party. Unbridled ambition combined with a sense of entitlement.

  6. I’m ashamed to admit I fell for the lies that Trump fabricated and his buddies sold to the American people. As the panel clearly showed Trump was the main instigator and need to be held to the constitution and laws of our country. Along with Trump, Hawley,, Kevin McCarthy, Bannon, Steven Miller, my buddy Bobby *Gunther* Walsh, Beck, Fox News, all need to be held accountable for their lies. The world is watching and we need to respond as the beacon on the hill.

  7. Can't wait for all the dismissive and deflective comments... "Hawley is a Republican and he liked Trump, just like I did - he can do no wrong and the Dems and Fake News Media are being big meanies!!!"

Open your eyes, remove your politically warped reading glasses and simply look at the events of January 6th. Don't make excuses, don't justify or rationalize or normalize, just look at the videos of that day.

It was not normal, it was dangerous, it was illegal and it was UNAMERICAN. Hillary lost. Mitt Romney lost. John McCain lost. John Kerry lost. Al Gore lost. Bob Dole lost...

Trump lost, but unlike the others, he purposely chose to muddy the waters, agitate his followers with unsubstantiated claims.

  8. Well.... I don't know if this is gonna work or not~ But it seems to me that replacing the Russian Collusion Hoax with the January 6th Insurrection Hoax is kinda lame. At least we'll be able to watch a few new episodes in September. instead of summer reruns. Hooray!

  9. These people talk a big game but when the rubber hits the road it's another story.
Bannon he provided nothing in his trial big talk on his podcast though. Lindsey I won't comply , okay I'll comply. The two treasonists this week literately crying in court when they were sentenced to 4 years in prison, for Trump. You should all realize at this point, Trump wouldn't piss on you to put you out if you were on fire. He hates the people that love him the most.

  10. @10:13 - How exactly is Jan 6th a hoax? There is simply HOURS of video smoking gun evidence that says otherwise, and we're now seeing supporting evidence of communications that imply it was intentionally coordinated.

You dismissing it as a hoax because you don't like its reality doesn't make the fact that it happened go away.

    1. And, seriously, how is Russia collusion a hoax, 10:13. Oh, maybe they didn't have enough evidence to prove his golden shower. Read Mike Cohen's book. He explains in detail how that probably got into the dossier and it's not that far fetched given Trump. But most of the allegations have either been proven.

And for your weak mind, the Republican party commissioned the Steele Dossier. Once Trump won the party's nomination, the Clinton campaign bought it from your beloved party.

Fact checking is obviously not meant for you.

Your statements are proof you are a member of a cult. A cult that refuses to believe FACTS and lives in a different reality than those of us who won't drink Trump's kool-aid.

The one statement you made which affirms your lack of mental awareness and refusal to view, or hear anything other than what your ultra-right wing political opinion hosts tell you is, " The committee chairman, Bennie Thompson, once again repeated the lie that some rioters "were killing law enforcement officers". In fact, no law enforcement officers were killed by the rioters."

Officer Brian D. Sicknick of the Capitol Police, who was attacked and injured about his head by the mob, died on Jan. 7 from a stroke. The medical examiner noted, “all that transpired played a role in his condition.”

Your pumpkin tried to pull off a coup. He knew he lost the election, and everyone with intelligence told him so. Instead, he found nuts like Giuliani, Powell, Flynn, and Eastman, who told him what he wanted to hear, and conspired with him to steal the election.

Watch something other than FOX, NewsMax, and OAN.

Your boy is well on his way to being convicted in a court of law, where none of his loyalist senators can save him.

    1. Hahaha Bernie. Now you're sick and tired? I still have Thanksgiving dinners and July 4th holidays where my in-laws still insist that the Clintons murdered Vince Foster.

I tried to warn people of this cult mentality in 1994. They walk in our circles, hold respectful jobs, have families and children, instill values...but they've been pushing the big lie since Bill Clinton annihilated there thinking.

  16. 1:04 - not so fast. I don't think the republicans will do just fine even though we still have trump humpers running all over the country. Dems are still shitting their pants on the progressive issues that most Americans do give a damn about. As long as there are high gas prices, huge losses in our retirement investments and fears of a recession, who does that benefit?

On a side note: BO you missed a great story in the committee meeting last night. Tara was full form detached from reality, again. . . So was bloggin' Don Moore

  18. I think physically attacking a gubernatorial candidate, attempting to assassinate a SCOTUS justice, and shooting a Congressman on a baseball field are worse than this. Let's get some perspective. You haven't touched these antidemocratic insurrectionist tactics. You've tacitly endorsed them. Save your concern for the republic. Wtf. Evil.

  19. Frankly, republicans will see big gains in the House and senate in this year's elections. It's the economy stupid. The democrats cannot help themselves, even in the post Trump era.

  22. You criticize Trump. You remain silent regarding Democratic Party violence on elected individuals and citizens in Democratic-run cities. You're an old whitey Democrat who thinks wokeness papers over what you and your party have become. You're returning to violent Weather Underground type roots and killing innocents. But that's OK because it reminds of yer ol' organizin' days that never really were and won't be again. It's all fun and games until some nut visits this violence upon you or yours. It's the world this blog has been creating. Proud? I and others who know you are certain you are.

  23. 12:33 - The coroner ruled Sicknick's death to be by natural causes. Doubt me? Please tell me to who is being prosecuted for his death. That's right, nobody. He was also not hit in the head with a fire extinguisher as many in the anti-Trump media originally claimed. Maybe you need to watch something other than MSNBC, CNN, and other left-leaning sites.

10:44 - You claim that there are "HOURS of video smoking gun evidence". What we've seen from this hack committee is selectively released and edited video. Most of the video hasn't been publicly released yet. Until all video is released - unedited - this committee is an obvious sham and not interested in finding the truth.

While we're talking about finding the truth, why are certain aspects of what happened that day not being investigated by the committee? I would love to know what decisions Nancy Pelosi made that day, or have a real investigation into the shooting of an unarmed protester.

On the latter point, you know that if a cop had shot and killed a protester at a George Floyd rally that cop would have been quickly identified and brought up on charges. That didn't happen here.

    1. Ok, Mr rational citizen 12:33. You got me. You're so astute. Why aren't the Clintons being charged for all the people they had murdered? You and I know that's the biggest cover-up ever and Nancy Pelosi is behind it. Release the Kraken!

"On January 8, the United States Department of Justice published a statement by Acting Attorney General Jeffrey A. Rosen, which attributed Sicknick's death "to injuries he suffered defending the U.S. Capitol, against the violent mob who stormed it".
Gee a republican AG made the claim.
"selectively released and edited video."--So hawley was not running from the "tourists"(mob)
    he encouraged?
Where is Hawley defending how he bravely ran away?
Does he need a "safe space" to talk or is he just a snowflake?
"decisions Nancy Pelosi made that day,"--sure you want to go down that road?
Moscow Mitch is responsible for the security of the Senate yet he gets a pass?
"shooting of an unarmed protester"--I seem to remember the stock answer for black folks getting shot by cops was "if he only obeyed the officer' orders there would be no need to gun him down.
Gullible maga girl was told if you come thru you will be shot--being white girl maga she thought she could ignore those commands of law enforcement.
Truly a shame that maga folks do not believe in law and order.

Officer Sicknick's death was ruled "natural causes," because the coroner couldn't with absolute certainty point the finger at two of your rioter friends, which is why he noted the previous days assault played a role in his condition, leaving it to prosecutors, should they want to pursue it.
To this day, your Insurrectionist Leader has remained silent. He hasn't offered condolences to Sicknick's family, or praised law enforcement who defended the Capital. So much for your, "Law and Order" coup planner.
I'm hoping Trump gets the GOP nod for 2024. He'll lose because sane Republicans are leaving his cult, SCOTUS decisions are peeling away more, and your Emperor is being exposed for the snake oil salesman he is.
If he tries another assault on the Capital in January, 2025 (if he isn't being prosecuted for his previous one), it'll be repulsed in minutes. Biden won't be sitting on his ass watching it on his dining room television for 3 hours.

  28. Support for Trump continues to erode.

One of Donald Trump's favorite newspapers, controlled by his media ally Rupert Murdoch, says Trump is "unworthy to be this country's chief executive again."
Murdoch's Wall Street Journal called him "The President Who Stood Still on Jan. 6" and praised Vice President Mike Pence. "Character is revealed in a crisis, and Mr. Pence passed his Jan. 6 trial. Mr. Trump utterly failed his," the Journal editorial stated.

I'm betting Murdoch is going to put his media clout behind DeSantis.

  29. I like Trump. It wasn't an insurrection. Obama's investigation of a hoax Russian conspiracy against a presidential candidate was far worse for our republic. I and many others would vote for Donald J Trump in a second to get back what Biden and his party have so quickly destroyed - just as Trump predicted ... every single bit of it. It's time to go back. We all made a terrible mistake. November will be fun. But it's just the warm up. 2024 is coming quickly and so is Trump - again. The only guy who might beat him is Michelle Obama.
