Over the years, Gracedale's large campus has often been the venue for "informational" meetings peculiar to that nursing home. Back in 2010, I complained here about one such rally. Though it was supposed to be about efforts to stop the sale, the real purpose of this shindig was to engage in blatant partisan political activity on county-owned property. Every Democrat running for office was asked to speak. And at the campus exits, trade union members passed out political leaflets to people as they left. They were perverting public resources to get people elected. This could be construed as a Hatch Act violation, since the home is federally funded.
Failed NorCo Exec candidate Steve Lynch has had several of these "informational" meetings himself. One of them, which decried the staffing shortage while positing no solutions, was right before the election he lost. Another was a few months later.
Yesterday, Lynch dropped the pretense of "information." He instead conducted a blatantly partisan political rally on the Gracedale campus without seeking permission from anyone. He hosted several Republican candidates, from Lt. Gov. candidate James Earl Jones to himself, of course.
In addition to perverting public resources for politics, he was making it impossible for many of the 406 people who consider Gracedale their home to enjoy the well-kept grounds. That area is used for residents to walk or move around in their wheelchair. It is their back yard.
His partisan political message was shoved down their throats, whether they like it or not.
Lynch and his minions are also anti-vaxers and anti-maskers. While the likelihood of spreading an infection outdoors is remote, several residents did attend this rally and live in an home in which nearly 100 people were killed by COVID-19/
I support core political speech, even messages with which I disagree. But we need to limit the partisan politics at a county nursing home. Northampton County has numerous parks as well as the courthouse. Those areas are more suited to political speech.
It's time that Northampton County Council consider an ordinance that limits partisan political activity on county-owned property to parks and outside the courthouse.
"I support core political speech, even messages with which I disagree".......
ReplyDeletea mouthful of coffee was just spit out , projectile, as this comment warrants correction. You're a political mule who assassinates characters for sport , with a level of intolerance and irresponsibility that contradicts the 1st amendment.
If not for your buddies in the DA S office, and the bench, you'd be rounded up, charged, convicted and purged from the public square.
What is the going pay rate you collect to be such a shriveled up, nanny goat for the local DEMs?
The first comment is clearly from a recent paroled convict, as evidenced by the same catch-phrases and narrative that we're used to on this site. Moreover, I just perused her Facebook page before writing this and my oh my Bernie, does she still have a problem with you. Not only does she continue to deny her criminality, but she most recently posted that you're a sociopath and also implies that you're in cahoots with the "corrupt" Judge Baratta, ending her rants with "stay tuned". I, for one, can hardly wait.
DeleteActually, 12:09pm is incorrect. She calls you, Bernie, a psychopath, not sociopath. Also, she doesn't imply that you're in cahoots with Judge Baratta, but perhaps you're blackmailing him instead. #staytuned is her now signature.
DeleteThat's some first amendment she gots there.
Thanks for the link to 21010. We forgot that Dertinger was as much an arrogant ass then as he is now. Sadly, now he is in charge. We are doomed.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to think you don't like Lynch and wouldn't likely vote for him. Because Ds break the rules all the time, and because you hate him so much, he has my vote. It's not like he shot a Congressman at a baseball game or is protesting with a mob outside of judges' homes and place of worship. That's real, actual bad stuff that visitors to this blog must read about elsewhere. Thank you for covering local politics and informing/directing my vote. I'm mostly guided by neutralizing yours.
ReplyDeletePolitical opportunity is never to be wasted. Your party has been a good teacher. Don't complain when the opposition resorts to the same.
ReplyDeleteCharger him a million dollars for having the event on the grounds at Gracedale and then put it toward the budget. And if he cannot pay it within 48 hours have him perform a million dollars of community service by cleaning at Gracedale.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see which nefarious forces will prevent Lynch from being elected this time?
ReplyDelete"Globalists?" *wink, wink*, RINOS?, George Soros?, your local mailman?, DEMONS?!?
For a party so big on personal responsibility, it is pretty wild how all of their failures are everyone else's fault. Just a bunch of entitled, whiny fucking babies.
Watch your language;
DeleteNo need for profanity.
Political candidates and/politicians should be required to request permission, schedule the event, and pay for use of the grounds and any of these sites just like they would have to at any public location. And they should be required to pay in complete prior advertising the event and their team setting foot on the grounds.
ReplyDeleteAnd make it simple if they do not pay but use they are ban for 20 years from being being on the ballot for any political position in the district, and region which they did not pay. Also they should be ban at that point for any political activities period under penalty of permanent jail time.
Great idea but then Lori Vargo Heffer will vote with the Rs and nothing will happen
ReplyDeleteThe attack on Saturday was the deadliest mass shooting in the United States this year, joining a grim roster of other racist massacres in recent years, including the killing of nine Black parishioners at a church in Charleston, S.C., in 2015; an antisemitic rampage in the Tree of Life synagogue in 2018 in Pittsburgh that left 11 people dead; and an attack at a Walmart in El Paso in 2019, where the man charged had expressed hatred of Latinos and killed more than 20 people.
ReplyDeleteExtremists motivated by racial and ethnic hatred are considered the most dangerous threat among domestic terrorists. Lynch and his minions and fox real “fake news” is the problem and needs to be dealt with to bring humaneness back to politics and America.
It seems you missed a few. Like the black nationalist who lit up the subway car in NYC the other day. The Waukesha Wisconsin mass killing. The recent Sacramento CA Mass shooting. How about the Chinese man shooting up the Taiwanese church yesterday. The black on Asian hate crimes in NYC. It seems to me there’s plenty of hateful “extremists” running around from all backgrounds and it’s sad and disgusting.
DeleteLynch has zero qualifications to be a leader. He's just another GOP hack who takes after Cawthorn, Boebert, MTG etc...
ReplyDeleteBernie the Lynch train has too much momentum to be stopped, 20 strong men reside in the caboose alone the dining car has 60+ studs gorging on high protein low carb fuel with the Alpha Variant leading the charge doing jello shots on the bench whilst hoisting more weight in one press than you could manage in an hours long zumba with 2lb dumb bells.
ReplyDeleteUHURU!
Jell-O shots? What are we in the nineties?
DeleteSo much for strong men.
It is public property. Under the First Amendment it is allowed, regardless of political purposes.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? Draft an ordinance that effectively directs political activity on County parklands?
ReplyDelete"The real purpose of this shindig was to engage in blatant partisan political activity on County-owned property." Why then condone and encourage it on County-owned parkland?
"In addition to perverting public resources for politics, he was making it impossible for the many people who consider Gracedale their home to enjoy the well-kept grounds. It is their backyard." What about the many people who consider Northampton County their home and it's beautiful passive parklands their backyard?
You're not okay with "blatant partisan politics" and the loud annoying crowds and disruptive circus it can bring to the County nursing home campus. But you're okay with it in the County's quiet passive parks. Something's wrong with that logic.
Northampton County Courthouse is the home and center for County politics. Not the County Nursing Home or County Parks. If you wanna legislate where political rallies can and can't occur, the Courthouse grounds and campus, with on duty law enforcement always present, is the place for political activity on public property. Not nursing homes and passive parks.
yes, agreed. There is no logic in his thought process because
Delete1. he fried his brain on drugs and booze
2. his demented mind is not capable of rational , coherent thought.
3. But even if it were, (which it's not) it's moot, because he is owned by McClure, and his gang of cronies at the courthouse.
they butter his bread to do their political bidding, and dirty work.Facts and truth are not on the agenda, and they never will be.
Don't forget what you already know. This blog is run by a straw person who writes what he's told, and does as he's told. Nothing more to see here.
Gracedale is “home” to those 406 residents and Steve Lynch has no right to be conducting political, personal or any other type of business at their “home”. Perhaps the Department of Health should be notified of this breach of resident’s rights?
ReplyDeleteIf someone cares about the patients and staff at Gracedale they should volunteer. The patients and staff would appreciate any little extra time a caring person would share with them. Instead of a political event on the grounds they should get the vaccine, wear a mask, pass the background check and get in there and help. Just think if that rally was about recruiting people to help out instead whatever political silliness.....oh, I give up, some people will never change.
ReplyDelete"I'm excited to see which nefarious forces will prevent Lynch from being elected this time?"
ReplyDeleteI expect he will be elected to the state committee. He does not need a majority, only a plurality of voters bc there are seven seats. His appeal to the fringe elements within the GOP should suffice.
"Great idea but then Lori Vargo Heffer will vote with the Rs and nothing will happen"
ReplyDeleteShe did not vote with the Rs. They voted with her. She made the motion to table an idea that needed a bit more work. It was common sense to do so.
"You're not okay with "blatant partisan politics" and the loud annoying crowds and disruptive circus it can bring to the County nursing home campus. But you're okay with it in the County's quiet passive parks. Something's wrong with that logic."
ReplyDeleteNot at all. Under the First Amendment, free speech is sacrosanct. I object to partisan political activity at a public home that is federally funded and is the residence of hundreds of people. I have no objection at a courthouse (outside) or county park, which are more akin to public squares. Even there, I believe the parks ordinance requires a permit.
except you had no problem with it when your boss McClure did the exact same thing. At gracedale. Hypocrisy.
Deletehow much are you being paid by morganelli real estate , llc to do title searches?
DeleteGracedale is not the place for rallys.THose folks who care should volunteer. Get the Vax, wear a mask, pass a background check and help out. That would be appreciated by staff and patients. Put you money where your mouth is and do something useful.
ReplyDelete8.03 you forgot the parade massacre in wisconsin.
ReplyDeleteGracedale is for patients. Stop the rallies on the grounds and volunteer. You would have to pass a background check, wear a mask, and be vaccinated. Do something useful and make a difference. Stop the speeches and show good and honest character. Volunteer and help out. The could use some strong men to transport patients
ReplyDeleteI don't see any of these "patriots" volunteering at the places they care so much about.
ReplyDeleteI don’t see you or many others commenting on here volunteering either.
DeleteWhy can't this 'Patriot' just go back to the military? Forget that. Why can't this BIG tough guy open a gym along with his 20 strong Patriot men? Or better yet just get a freakin job!
ReplyDeleteHe was never in the military.
DeleteHe had a gym, went under, house was in foreclosure a couple of times, so why do u want him public office, not a very good track record…
Delete@Joe. . I was being sarcastic. Never said I wanted him in office.
DeleteHELLO PATRIOTS....I only hope when I get to the home that the CIRCUS FREAK SHOW comes to town as well. Maybe Lynch can sit in the dunking booth to raise coffee & donut money...but I'd rather throw the tomatoes at him than try to dunk him.....sorry Berne, it's Monday.
ReplyDeleteWhy did the county permit this? Who is responsible? Please name names. Heads should roll for any/all responsible for harming our elderly. Where's the rest of this story?
ReplyDeleteWhere the wack jobs from the Tea party there?
ReplyDelete"I only hope when I get to the home" .....AND that might be where the problem starts or started. Many years ago, some did not figure out, save, or plan enough for retirement. Whether it be in high school (go sports, the heck with knowledge), mismanagement of pensions, not contributing to 401Ks, etc. and now the rest of society has to kick in to feel good about others who did plan a head, i.e. "SOCIAL" security to save the day...... go figure.
ReplyDeleteSteve Lynch and all his supporters are nothing more than white supremacist. And white supremacist walk around with so much privilege that it is normalized in their society for a young white male to organize and speak often about his intentions to kill black people on platforms such as Discord and Twitch.
ReplyDeleteWhite supremacist like Steve Lynch are intentionally ignorant to these facts, never calling out their own to the point that it ends up perpetuating and encouraging individuals that carry out acts like what happened in Buffalo, New York.
And if you’re white and Not directly to blame for this event, you benefit from this privilege so what are you doing to dismantle this racist system?
If you just decided to scroll along, you’re part of the problem.
This may be about Trump and but the article should apply equally across all politicians. When they blatantly do something illegal they should be punished for it and not allowed to get away with it. This crap goes on on both sides of the aisle. Just like the crap that the Lynch mob does. Make the rules very simple for these apparent iditos to understand then punish them harshly when they break them and punish the incompetent judicial system when they reward them for breaking the law.

Politicians should have to follow any and all the common rules for utilizing public areas like other would have too. If you are going to hold a parade or protest or anything else else as a large group gathering which disrupts the standard course of the area you need to get a permit. If they did not get a permit and approval fine them like you would anyone else.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who has had a bankruptcy should not ever be allowed to ever fill any political position.
ReplyDeleteI’m just here for the comments. And we have some winners!! Lol
ReplyDeleteLynch is a failure. And now suddenly his wife appears on the ballot? Why? What is her platform. What does she bring to the table other than her clown husband who she never has actually supported on any of his posts. What an absolute joke. The voters of Northampton County are getting so played it is laughable at best. Terrifying at worst.
ReplyDeleteHis wife is on the ballot for county committee. That's no big deal. I know plenty of husband and wife teams who run for their local committee. I wish her luck.
ReplyDelete"except you had no problem with it when your boss McClure did the exact same thing. At gracedale. Hypocrisy."
ReplyDeleteNo, I have consistently been against the use of Gracedale for partisan political activity. You apparently failed to read my link to a story from 2010 when I complained that Ds had turned an "informational" rally into a political event. I was critical of both McClure and Dertinger then, but they at least had the sense to claim it was informational. Lynch expressly stated this was a partisan political gathering, and he had candidates there. That is simply wrong.
If people want to complain about staffing or conditions, that's one thing. But this was pure politics.
you had no problem with it when mcclure did the same thing, campaigning for exec, and during his term. reveal your income earned off the books, that you receive shilling for the government cronies who run you, and this blog.
Delete"It seems you missed a few. Like the black nationalist who lit up the subway car in NYC the other day. The Waukesha Wisconsin mass killing. The recent Sacramento CA Mass shooting. ReplyDeleteExtremism knows no color, ethnicity or religion. I have acknowledged that I fight my in-ground prejudices daily, but there are numerous examples of people who are themselves very overtly bigoted and yet fail to see it. There are women who think everything is patriarchal. There are blacks who are just as bigoted as a KKK member. And so it goes.
" She calls you, Bernie, a psychopath, not sociopath. Also, she doesn't imply that you're in cahoots with Judge Baratta, but perhaps you're blackmailing him instead. #staytuned is her now signature."
ReplyDeleteAnyone who reads this blog knows I'm nuts. That's what all my multiple personalities tell me. I don't know the exact diagnosis, but I'm clearly a bit off. That's a blogging prerequisite.
As for Judge Baratta, he tried very hard to keep her out of jail. Also, I have no idea what I have to do with her failed and dishonest attempt to frame a black neighbor with pointing a gun at her.
3:18, 3:26 & 4:39 - You need to put down the bottle and read. I criticized McClure for a Gracedale rally in 2010 and even linked to the story I wrote. I have no relationship with Morganelli real estate and have had no business dealings ever with John, his sons or the corporation. You create these fantasies in your head and then recklessly smear others with them. This is what is known as libel. You should know better by now. You have just spent 12 months in jail as a result of your inability to be truthful. Looks like you're headed there again.
ReplyDeleteBernie: the commentator that you refer to as 3:18, 3:26 & 4:39 just posted this Facebook doozy:
Delete"Reckless disinformation was spread all over the media about my 2019 first offense M3, "false report" which wasn't false at all . If you are interested in hearing the truthful version of events and facts, contact me or keep reading. The people with the least amount of information are the ones spreading the hate and lies.
The damage was increased because of a biased judge who refused to sign a probation order based on facts, expert opinions, and evidence . He also refused to sign a much needed restraining order against a luatic who has been stalking me for 12 years.
Even though I offered to be drug tested daily to subvert the garbage narrative that I abuse drugs and alcohol, not even one was conducted by the court, post trial, pre sentancing, or post sentancing. Not one. They were done by the state Board of nursing, and were all negative.
fraudulent PSI reports ordered by my judge were utilized to smear my character and mental health. From 2019 to present, 6 drug and alcohol evaluations were completed, and none of them rendered the desired smear tactic the court was looking for. So I was kept in jail for 12 months instead.
The psi reports contradicted fact, did not include actual drug / alcohol testing results, and look like they were copied and pasted from fake news bloggers, rather than compiled by professionals based on objective interactions with me. My judge refused to consider my objections to false PSI reports, and ignored my motions to have them removed from my file.
Instead, he doubled down on them. He refused to let me out of jail until I complied with every single defamatory and unnecessary requirement, that was disproven by
2 expert psychiatric reports clearing me of needing treatment.
While violent felons and drug dealers were being released on unsupervised parole after 30 to 120 days in jail, I was forced to serve 12 full months. They kept me locked up until 8pm on my final day, even when other inmates told me that discharge on a max date is always 7am .
I was transfered to 5 jails in 12 months, for a total of 8 transfers while incarcerated. Constant movement is a form of torture. My resting place was lehigh county jail, where I saw some of the most vicious, unruly wild animals who should be locked up for life. People who behave like Nikki Bealer, for example.
I had to be housed with the Federal human traffickers in isolation. This was because the female corrections staff doxxed my name to other inmates, who then utilized outside and inside sources to surf the Internet where the most disinformation and defamation exists.
People believe the garbage they read. As a result, others thought I was a racist cop....I was nearly starved to death, repeatedly threatened and harassed daily, assaulted , not given any treatment for injuries or other medical conditions, robbed of property, and subjected to unequal treatment from the courts.
The libel that is in print is being handled accordingly. I have a few pending lawsuits to handle this mess, and hopefully the wrongs will be corrected....somehow. There was no crime, no one was framed, and it had nothing to do with race. Yet, the irresponsible fake news persists to this day. Keep checking back for updates. Northampton County is a political cesspool."
Somebody permitted this to happen. The question is who? Things don't get fixed until we get to the bottom of something so incredibly harmful to residents. Where is the rest of this story? Who permitted this?
ReplyDelete12:51, Lynch decided to electioneer at Gracedale's campus on Saturday. He sought no permission and just appeared on the grounds. Deputy sheriffs permitted this and Lynch complimented themas great defenders of the first and second amendments.
ReplyDeleteBernie you might want to talk with your boys before sending out false accusations
ReplyDeleteSteve Lynch continues to create more overtime for the sheriffs department, they must love him over there. Probably enough to vote for him.
ReplyDeleteMy information is completely accurate. You can see Lynch on Facebook thanking the deputy sheriffs as they stand off at a distance. He also lauded their support for the first and second amendment. Lynch sought no permission for this rally. Deputies allowed it, and I have no problem with that bc the county has no policy in place concerning rallies at Gracedale.
ReplyDeleteOr were the deputies told by a higher ranking official. It's odd to have that many deputies at Gracedale on a Sunday
DeleteSo the deputies did nothing wrong. You just want to paint them as bad people for being present
ReplyDeleteLynch was invited by a resident at Gracedale. The sheriff ordered those deputies to go out there for some reason. Are permits required for whatever that was? At least those deputies got paid to stand outside on a nice day.
ReplyDeleteDid the sheriff order Lynch be removed? Why didn't they arrest him for trespassing? Oh wait it must be because Lynch actually respects them unlike the current administration. The Sheriff's department is an embarrassment
ReplyDelete1) I see the deputies are chiming in. You must feel guilty about something to need to explain your selves, you great defenders of the second amendment.
ReplyDelete@6:57 pm Boy, are you a piece of work
ReplyDeleteLOL. It was like a Biden rally....4 (patients) and security showed up. What a ShitShow Circus with the head Clown Lynch wearing that same blue jacket. Seriously...can one of his Boi's loan him a different one?
ReplyDeleteIt was embarrassing to waste JamesEarlJones time for this.
