John Merhottein Poised to Challenge Lisa Boscola For State Senate

John Merhottein, President of Bethlehem Tp's Board of Commissioners, is poised to challenge incumbent Lisa Boscola in this year's state senate races.  He has confirmed that he is seeking signatures to run in the Republican primary. Boscola is a Democrat.

If he secures the GOP nod, it will be an uphill battle. Boscola has been elected five times to the state senate and twice to the House. Her key to success has been excellent constituent service.

Merhottein is the sole Republican on Bethlehem Tp's Board. He has weathered an anti-Republican election. This year, however, looks bad for the Democrats.

Merhottein, incidentally, is a Marine who served in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He is an electronic data interchange specialist with Intelligent Audit.

  2. "Boscola has been elected five times to the state senate and twice to the House."

That's a long time to be glued to a seat in the "citizens legislature." She's essentially been a ward of the state - including taxpayer paid alcohol rehab - for over two decades. If she had any decency, she would have left long ago.

Bob Freeman, Pat Browne - looking right at you takers, too.

  3. Given his profession, the first question should be,
was the election rigged, stolen or tampered with to cheat trump of a win.and get him on record if he defames Dominion.

  4. 10:22- given all the evidence that’s been made public, I would be shocked if the candidate would not agree.

  5. Lisa will do the same thing she does every time it's election time. She will promise to fight to get rid of school taxes for seniors. After she is elected she does not follow through. Mean time more and more senior citizens are having to walk away from their homes because they cannot afford the taxes. Anyone that will fight for us seniors has my vote and thousands of others I am sure.

  6. Merhottein has always been very responsive to me and my neighbors. We like him a lot. I think it might be time for a change.

@5:09 - very true. Just looked at her website and it says "Senator Boscola has worked tirelessly to bring property tax reform to the forefront of the debate in the General Assembly. Senator Boscola has been a leading proponent of the total elimination of the local school property tax and has been a co-sponsor of Senate Bill 76. Every Session, she has also introduced legislation to freeze property taxes on seniors so that they can remain in their homes."

She has been there for like 25 years. Obviously she isn't the person to push it through. Isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over?

  8. Lisa Bascola was a marginal attorney, that’s why she’s now in liberal politics. She didn’t make the grade as an attorney. .Now I say you liberals are there because your getting free stuff . So you attract to the “fish bate in life” . Because your a institutional looser . Admittedly, I’m right of center but care about how this country is run,and how the outcome is . Some of you voted for this administration in Washington,DC . Your now paying the price for it . Most of you don’t even know that Joes administration s 1st deal was to close off a pipe line that would held our industry be independent of foreign oil . So- How Stupid Was That? ? You people in effect voted for these high energy costs. You voted for this administrations distraction to world events% wise.
