Willie Reynolds Has Defeated John Kachmar in Bethlehem Mayoral Race

Democrat Willie Reynolds has prevailed over Republican John Kachmar in a rare Bethlehem Mayoral general election contest. In NorCo, Reynolds topped Kachmar 5,791 to 3,137. In Lehigh, with 99.4% of the precincts in, Reynolds tops Kachmar, by 2,311 to 1,550.

Kachmar picked up some steam in the closing days of the campaign, but not enough.

  1. It is bewildering that Bethlehemites voted for the tax increase rubber stamping reynolds. They can not complain when he sticks it to them again. They earned it.

  2. Kachmar was not even close. He did not even crack 38%. This was a landslide! There was no steam in the closing days. An endorsement from Grubb may have cost Kachmar votes.

  4. Kachmar never even ran a good campaign. Reynolds is another 8 years of Donchez. Good grief. What a mess for tax payers.

  5. One can only wonder if there will be any changes in its current administration. The turn over rate is through the roof. Not good for the tax payers.

  6. Eric Evans is already seeking photographers for his mayoral campaign to commence in 2029. At least Bethlehem knows its mayors for the next 16 years.

    1. Mismanagement has led to parks employees to have no building and are now reporting to garages with no heat. Mr alkahal had stated to city council that there will be space heaters provided. How is that municipal employees are to report to work under these conditions? Questions should be asked and answered

  7. Evans is the poster child for nepotism.

    1. I believe there was a guy working in that department with a college degree and he was completely skipped over to allow room for his wife to take office. If that is not nepotism, what is?
