Covid-19 Vaccines Will Soon Be Mandatory at Gracedale

First came the carrot. Now it's the stick. Gracedale staffers are being offered a cash incentive to get the Covid-19 vaccine. But if they continue to refuse, they will soon be ex-Gracedale staffers. This is because the Biden administration is implementing new regulations that will require staff at nursing homes across the country to be inoculated. Nursing homes that refuse will be denied funding under Medicare and Medicaid. Most of Gracedale's funding comes from those two sources.

Executive Lamont McClure told Northampton County Council last night that there have been no Covid deaths at Gracedale since April 30.  He indicated that 93% af the residents and 55% of the staff have been vaccinated.

Once the vaccine becomes mandatory, the cash incentive will end.

  1. Can they operate with 45% less staff.

  2. This will certainly wash a lot of the black employees (30%-40% vaccinated) out. Interesting.

  3. On Wednesday, GOP Exec candidate Steve Lynch conducted a protest against LVHN, which has made vaccines mandatory. Now he can do one outside of Gracedale. As an anti-vaxer and anti-masker Exec, would he defy the feds and raise your taxes to cover the loss of revenue? How many residents would die again? This is why someone like him should never be elected to anything.

  4. @6:58 - you really seem concerned lately with low vaccination rates among minorities, fixated even.

  5. @6:58 - Posted this on another thread, but relevant to your fixation...

    Stupidity is color blind. As of this past Monday, demographics show the following unvaccinated rates;

    Black = 60%
    Hispanic = 55%
    Whites = 50%

    So it does makes sense that some dimwitted gas lighters would see those #s and start blaming minorities, but those percentages ignore the share of the population those groups represent;

    US population #'s
    Black = 40M
    Hispanic = 57M
    White = 235M

    So going by raw population of unvaccinated...

    Black = 24M
    Hispanic = 32M
    White = 117.5M

    So you can rest easy knowing that mandates and penalties for the unvaccinated would not unnecessarily or unduly burden our minority communities.

    Its the flag waving, FOXNews watching, lesser educated rural types who will probably have to bear the burden of these penalties the most.

  6. It is 100% wrong for the administration to be writing regulations mandating vaccines (medical procedures) for the public. When you have CDC reporting that transmission is still possible regardless of vaccination, then it is a mute point and then clearly demonstrates the desire to mandate it is about power and control. More people need to stand up against this TYRANNICAL administration. USA is imploding in front of our eyes under the false sense of altruism.

  7. If the masks work, why would anyone be forced to be injected, and vice versa? The implication here is that one of these precautions is not effective.

  8. Wow, forced vaccinations of an experimental drug.

    Good thing their union and democrat county executive are there to protect them.

    Oh wait, never mind.

    Great to see Senile Joe take a break from screwing things up in Afghanistan to focus on things back home and once again bring the country together.

    Is he even back from vacation yet? It must have been exhausting setting the country back 50 years in only seven months on the job.

  10. Thank you Biden Administration for doing what the County Elected Officials didn't have the courage to do.

  12. It is not an experimental drug. It is a vaccine approved for emergency use

  13. "It is not an experimental drug. It is a vaccine approved for emergency use"

    Better phrasing, but the point is still the same. The vaccine lacks the long-term studies that many would want to have before taking it.

    More importantly, there is no recourse against the manufacturer for any side-effects that someone could get from the shot.

    I think people would be more inclined to trust in the vaccine if the profits of the billionaires in Big Pharma would be at risk too.

    Are McClure or Biden going to personally cover the medical costs or family earnings for somebody they're forcing to get the shot who has a bad reaction? It does happen.

    "It is 100% wrong for the administration to be writing regulations mandating vaccines (medical procedures) for the public. They already do for Tetnus, Hepatitis, Measles Mumps & Rubella, Polio, etc., so your first sentence is already wrong

    When you have CDC reporting that transmission is still possible regardless of vaccination, Yes it's possible, but reduced in liklihood and potency. then it is a mute point It's "Moot", not mute and then clearly demonstrates the desire to mandate it is about power and control. Government has a responsibility to protect its citizens, hence laws regarding speeding and drug usage.

    More people need to stand up against this TYRANNICAL administration No they don't and no it's not, stop being frightened. USA is imploding in front of our eyes under the false sense of altruism." No it isn't, stop being frightened.

    So by your logic, since twice as many whites are shot by police as blacks, no problem, right?

    BTW, your number for "whites" includes "hispanic whites", but what's a few tens of millions among friends.

    Not to mention that you're not even considering asians and Native Americans, but then perhaps you're too fixated on playing with numbers and not spending enough time on analyzing them properly.

  16. If you oppose the vaccine bc there are no peer-reviewed Phase III studies, I believe they are very nearly complete. This I can understand, but not the nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don’t understand how people still think you can’t catch covid if you’ve been vaccinated. Of course you can contract the virus, BUT IT WON’T KILL YOU!!! Why is this so hard to understand.

    Also, yes it is true that the actual coronavirus is smaller than the microns allowed in most masks, but the only way the virus can be transmitted in the air is when IT’S ATTACHED TO SMALL WATER DROPLETS!!! And those are caught by most masks because of their larger size.

    I’m convinced that the people still making these arguments FAILED the crap out of all science related classes in high school.

  18. 929: Masks help minimopizectgevspread. Vaccines are medicinal remedies which kill the virus. You obviously realize that. Dobyoubalsobfeelbwe should abandon smallpox vaccine and go with only masks ?
    There is no vaccine fro fuck£n dummies

  19. @1258 pm

    Please take time to read or re-read Orwell's 1984 or even peruse the cliff or spark notes about the themes. Compare it to what is going on now.

    As far as being frighten, you are sadly mistaken. I would gladly die standing up for my beliefs and calling a spade a spade then to be a lemming and just go along.

    I will have a hard time being convinced that the government, media, entertainment people and the like are using psychological and biological warfare to create a learned helplessness and dependency on government. This my friend is Tyrannical

    Thank you for debunking this outrageously false claim that somehow it’s minorities fault that the covid numbers are up, because when all else fails, blame “The Them.”

    Great job.

  22. Companies and agencies not requiring the vaccine: the white house, Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, the world health organization, the cdc and the fda. Look it up

    You can choose to do whatever you want.

    They can choose to not serve you, they can choose to not hire you, they can choose to not even let you in the building.

    Capitalism, right…?

    ReplyDelete
  27. @8#6 yes your body your choice but other peoples body their choice so if they chose to require vaccination or mask for you to be around them give them the same you expect or just don't go out and be at places wear people expect you to wear a mask or be vaccinated.

    Your choice and there choice to think you are an absolute moron.

  28. I support industry including health care facilities requiring flu shots and the vaccine as a condition of employment. These are extraordinary times which call for extraordinary action. I do not however support the government mandating this. It's a slippery slope.

    ReplyDelete
  29. So we can limit employees at places of business who have abortions? Thanks for the clarification.

    ReplyDelete
  30. To think all this controversy, argument, and division would have been avoided if Trump had said, "Wear a mask, get the vaccine, believe the science."
    The silver lining in him not having done that is he lost the election and his idiot followers are the majority contracting Covid. The only ones I have sympathy for are the
    children of the idiots.

  31. I suspect they will be able to collect unemployment, rent moratorium, food stamps, not too bad. everyone forgets that there is a large group of people with medical situations that the CDC recommends they consult with their doctor before receiving a vaccine. It might surprise many that there is not one answer for all these people.

    1. You do know that you can survive COVID and have severe and debilitating long-haul illnesses, right? You’re so witty and sarcastic but there are thousands of Americans that don’t find you funny. But they don’t count because they “survived” covid. Grow up.

  34. @7;19 I know many of those children's running as fast as they can away. A friend who is deep in the aniti-Vax and Trump worship arena had his family ripped apart recently. He and his wife think many of the conspiracy theories are true. They also think that the vaccine is joke and have regularly batted around that it is to do more then reduce the effects of covid. They would not let their son get vaccinated when at home. He tried to go get vaccinated when he was 17-1/2 but the vaccine location called his house for parental permission and it was a wild world in that house for a while to say the least. Well he turned 18 earlier this month and moved away for college. And just got vaccinated. HIs parents are pissed to say the least. Bu on the home front the wife has been sick for two plus weeks we many of the systems of COVID. She will not go the hospital but the systems are getting worse. It is just a mess of a family right now.

  36. Also, the claim that the vaccine is "untested" or "experimental" is nonsense. It has been rigorously tested and is not experimental. It has been approved for emergency use. This is blatant disinformation.

  37. So, has the vaccine formula been changed chemically in any way, to match unique characteristics found in the latest mutation? If it’s the same formula, the Delta risk factor remains the same, right?

  38. How can anyone trust this government--just look at what they doing in every possible situation

  39. The most terrifying recent information about this virus is that scientists have declared the new Delta variant a R-Naught value of between 5 - 9.5. To put this into perspective, the common cold has an R-Naught of 1. Last years Covid infection had an R-Naught of 3. The Delta variant is about to punch through this country like a cannonball, whether you’re vaccinated but more importantly, if you’re not vaccinated, your world is about to get shook. Stay healthy and get vaccinated people, it’s about to get really bad.

    ReplyDelete
  40. "So, has the vaccine formula been changed chemically in any way, to match unique characteristics found in the latest mutation? If it’s the same formula, the Delta risk factor remains the same, right?"

    The vaccine formula has not been adjusted for Delta, and studies show Delta is four times as infectious as the original. Moreover, while the current vaccine provides protection, it is less efficacious than it was with the original. Links to these assertions can be found within 30 seconds of a google search. Inform yourself.

  41. Pfizer vaccine now fully approved by the FDA. No longer caveated by "Emergency" use, or "Experimental", its just a vaccine like any other that's out there...

    ReplyDelete
  42. We can officially put another nail in the coffin of the not me crowd. Pfizer has earned full approval of their vaccine. If anyone has any experience with submittals to the FDA for market approve will understand how rigorous this process is. Unfortunately, I'm sure plenty of armchair Q-uarterbacks will explain it away with horse shit.
