MDJ Hawke is Challenged

Magisterial District Judge Robert A Hawke is seeking re-election to his seat in the northwestern tier of Northampton County, and has cross-filed. He has a challenger, Melissa Gogel. She has also cross-filed.

I have no information about her, but a google search indicates that an Allentown police officer by that name settled a claim of sexual harassment and gender discrimination for $20,000 in 2014.

  1. I believe Manwaring is also being challenged?

In a world where so many, including you, comment on “fake news”, unsupported claims of election fraud, bullying, campaign smears, etc., is it not a bit misleading to post a comment like this?

  4. Not at all. You sound goofy. I am trying to find out who she is, and am throwing out what I know. If that is not her, tell me. If it is, tell me. I see no Facebook page or candidate page.

  8. Gogle's is a big name in the lehigh twsp area as well. If she's affiliated with the local GQP then she's a trumper. We do not need any more conspiracy assholes running our local politics.

  9. I hear there is another candidate, Angie Lorentz who is running as a "write in" for 3-3-01. Has anyone heard of her?

  10. Angie Lorentz is a joke. Into nothing but drama in her life. Made her wife move them to Hawaii when Angie found out she was cheating on her. She is even so dishonest to be representing to people (on her private Facebook page) that she is enrolled in a christian Law School to lean the Magisterial certification through the Minor Judiciary Education Board. You will notice she does not list that on her Political Facebook page.

AVOID ANGIE (ANGELIC) LORENTZ AT ALL COSTS.

I am sure she posted the Anonymous comment May 29, 2021 at 8:06 PM.

  11. People posting as "anonymous" should not be slandering other people.

You don't have your facts straight, and what happens between her and her spouse is there business. The other candidates have had family issues as well. We have a gay Congresswoman who pretends to be "moderate". Before that we had a Liberal Congressman who pretends to be a Republican. I could care less if someone is gay, has a cheating spouse, etc. What I care about is their own character, do the work hard, do they abide by and honor the law, do they care about the people in the community that the represent, do they respect our Nation and its founding principles. If they are a judge, do they hold to the law and take the context of the person standing before them to heart and make fair decisions.

As far as "conspiracy assholes". There are plenty of conspiracies that need investigating. Those who won't at least investigate them and show the public the facts should be viewed with suspicion. We need people who abide by the law, and that did not happen last election. The changes made to the election law were unConstitutional, no matter what our liberal State Supreme court said on the matter.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
