During his tenure as a cop, Zucal was an instructor at the Civilian Police Academy and a member of the Emergency Response Team. By the time he retired, he was a SGT in charge of the traffic division. He is one of only two Allentown employees who never had a sick day. He also received nine commendations. He's a life member of the Fraternal Order of Police Queen City Lodge #10. He obviously backs the blue, but is also a member of the Allentown Chapter of the NAACP. This is not just fore show. I have seen him at several of their functions.
He still provides security at the Allentown School District. I know this because I used to see him at numerous Allen basketball games. He's thrown me out many times, but was always nice about it.
Ed is also a part-time Deputy Coroner in Lehigh County. I fortunately have not seen him in that capacity ... yet. I now know why he always asks about my health.
As a City Council member, Zucal serves on three different committees and chairs Public Works. Here's how he explains his role: "“I work for the voters who put me here. Not the Mayor or anyone else. Anyone, who has watched the budget process has seen that I vote to spend the city money as I think the taxpayers would want it spent. I have served the city with professionalism and dignity and will continue to do so.”
Ed resides in Allentown with his wife Teri and children.
Bernie writes: "Ed is also a part-time Deputy Coroner in Lehigh County. I fortunately have not seen him in that capacity ... yet. I now know why he always asks about my health."
ReplyDeleteWhew! This is sure good news. Who would keep us informed everyday?
Bernie... you gonna get signature counts. Not that it matters, but it shows who worked and who did not to get on the ballot. It also shows grass roots support.
ReplyDeleteI feel that Zucal and Hendricks are vunerable this time around from the you know who people.
ReplyDeleteAre they or are they not.
Please share your thoughts,
anon 9:58, it means nothing. If you want a big number rof signatures you chase anyone in your party to sign even if they don't vote. It is all ego. Votes are the only barometer of success. People like Zirinski and her Lehigh county clone will collect thousands of names by badgering and pushing petitions everywhere. Big deal. At the end of the day we will see what the actual voters think in May and November.
ReplyDeleteBragging on and on about your number of signatures is narcissistic and low class!
